AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

Santa Cruz County Sheriff David Hathaway said Tuesday night he was called about 5 p.m. and asked to provide deputies for support.

“It’s in Rio Rico, that’s all I can tell you,” Hathaway said. “We’re not running this case, we don’t have details.”

This news sources says FBI is saying there are multiple persons of interest? Anyone have any legit sources saying that?
There won't be any sources for that until warrants are executed.

It is safe to assume more coming - probably within hours.

My theory only, the origin of this is south of our border. It’s a demonstration of wingspan. How far they can reach and touch. The detainee is likely a low-level guy.
But I thought it was assumed the perp was familiar with Tucson due to details contained within the ransom note

Watching Fox News live and sherrif's vehicles have pulled up to what i believe is Nancy Guthrie's house with lights flashing... Not sure what this is about. Hoping its not related to any info they may have received from the detained individual....
Can you provide the link?

EDIT: I can't link it for some reason but if you go to FOX 5 Washington DC's YouTube page they have a live at NG's home right now. Not much going on that we can see, but a LE vehicle with flashing lights in the foreground.

Great, not like I need to shower or sleep tonight, LOL

As an aside, the amount of live coverage is wild, it's starting to feel like an "interactive" true crime. I think everyone on WS has empathy and a real sense of gravity with this, but it feels like elsewhere on the internet may not always be the case :/

She posted to her podcast in the last 13hrs.
Yes but she made no mention of her "prime suspect" - I posted the podcast here yesterday.

I agree with you. While this potential person MIGHT be from Mexico or was going there, IMHO this is someone local + someone with no prior experience with this sort of thing.
My thought being this might be one of the easiest jobs you could give an experienced soldier. Good opportunity for a less experienced one.

Its fox news live on TV... not a link on my computer. As Josh Ritter was interviewing folks, the sheriff's cars pulled up.

Things might not end with this current person of interest. It's entirely possible others were involved, either as accomplices or persons who contracted out the kidnapping.
Right. Somebody gave him the key.
