AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

  • #21,461
I cannot tell if it’s a man or woman, but I do see what appears to be facial hair; however, regardless if it’s a man or woman either could use a disguise under the mask… to try to throw off their appearance even more.

I feel like their body type is manly - but as I sit in a parking lot- people watching - you know sometimes it’s hard to tell. Basically, I’m of no help. Lol

I’m so tired. Last night was so up & down. I’m paying for it this morning. I was just so hopeful that Nancy had been found. I never thought Nancy would be missing this long. ):

Moo.

It's not just that they are pretty, there is a definite feminine look about them. I'm probably wrong, but I can't see past it. lol
I thought feminine at first too. However the more I looked, I believe the lighter circles around the eyes on the mask is causing some sort of softening affect. Obviously JMO, but I feel like it's tricking our brain.

IT seems that Carlos is released and no reason to arrest him. Boy was that disappointing after the build up last night. I wonder what the probable cause was for the search warrant?

GPS pings from his cell phone likely placed him near NG house.

Being a delivery man, he probably pings from all over Tucson.

Carlos says he was spoken to because of a tip about his eyes, as other posters have said. Maybe they also got geofencing info back and he'd been in the area at some point too. 2 hits on one person would justify finding and questioning them. Just a possibility here.

Ai will add details and take away details. It is not reliable. An AI just wants to create a picture that it thinks makes sense. So I don't think it can be trusted. I saw so many AI colorized pictures floating around yesterday of the perpetrator that looked wildly different.
It doesn't "think" though. The thinkers are it's programmers, biases and all. JMO

I’m behind you 100%. Beautifully written.
Thanks for your info, and really important to keep in mind. Tolerance People.

The public should not pre judge a whole group ( Hispanics) because it’s AZ, and a Hispanic person was picked up near a Nogales border crossing( 20 miles away). Areas like AZ have a huge percentage of Hispanics, and they are largely decent, hardworking, law abiding people.

I live in CA and 30% of CA residents are Hispanic ( many 4 th generation in US), and speak Spanish and English I’m not Hispanic myself, I have many friends who are Hispanic, and it would not cross my mind that they committed a crime “ because” they are Hispanic. That is just so awful for people to think.

This is the USA, people are picked up for probable cause ( in this case, done and released, no evidence to support holding), prosecutors must have strong evidence to convict, and thankfully( hopefully always), it has Nothing to do with their ancestry.

A couple questions that may have been answered already, in which case I apologize:
1. Can anyone tell if the blood droplets on the porch are above or below the vegetable debris?
2. Why would the kidnapper carry such a full backpack?

Would LE cross check any delivery drivers to NG’s home in a certain timeframe prior to her abduction? I’m thinking Amazon, FedEx and UPS all keep a database of each driver and delivery addresses?

Would you please cite your source for the LE released image having been AI enhanced? I must have missed that.
I don't know of any source, but I have seen some YouTube creators running it through AI, with the suspect sometimes appearing to have pale skin and blue eyes, and I think it's definitely causing confusion and muddying the waters.

So it appears they may be strongly weighing the white van lead? Always thought that was a good lead since I read the neighbor reported that white van suspiciously parked on the street days prior.

I've seen a lot of takes on the internet that say "Look at how he's carrying his gun, this is not a professional, he's a total amateur." My response to that is 99% of criminals are not "professionals." There's not exactly an army of Danny Oceans out there specializing in how to commit crimes to perfection. But I also believe he's more sophisticated than your average criminal. I'd say he was well-planned at the very least. Covered his body from head to toe to avoid shedding skin cells. Wore gloves, disabled the camera, probably avoided major streets so he could avoid plate readers otherwise LE would likely have him traveling on CCTV somewhere in the area.

This may have been the first crime this person has ever committed(maybe not) but this individual was highly planned at the very least, and possibly had planning help and coordination from others. This person should not be underestimated. Maybe not a pro, but definitely sophisticated enough to avoid capture to this point and also probably a little luck involved too, as many criminals who get away with crimes have.

Does anyone else

I noticed the "bulk" too. And I can't stop thinking the eyes are a woman's.
First glance for me at perps image ,I thought that's a woman who has added bulky layers to look male but I wouldn't put faith in the feminine look of a person's eyes as some men have stunning eyes and some women have harsh male looking eyes .

For me personally it was the lips, philtral dimple depth and the size of feet

The value of that video isn't in its ability to be enhanced so that a stranger could recognize this person, its that a relative or close associate will recognize this person; from the the backpack, the jacket, the shoes, or some other small detail. This will make this person on the defensive, wondering if someone they know has already talked to the police, and in that fear will comit a mistake or do the right thing and cut their losses.

IMHO- Last night's spectacle looks to me like LE used driver's license images to match the general description they input from this video, and drives a white van, and some other things most likely. Does this mean LE is really convinced there is a white van out there? I don't know.

Yes, I’m suggesting that she was murdered and didn’t make it home at all, and this is a coverup. Read: staged.

You have no proof at all there is any footage of this person on the camera carrying her out of the house.

You act like you’re part of the FBI but I doubt you can provide evidence of this…
What time did the pacemaker go out of range? I know the pacemaker can continue to work for hours or days after death, but the battery will eventually go dead. I think that's why LE has gone out in the desert days later, looking for a pacemaker signal, in case it was a case of her just wandering off or if her body was dumped.
There's no video evidence that we know of with Nancy being carried out, but lack of video isn't proof one way or the other. She wasn't in the house.

I think one thing that people seem to forget when discussing how the person on the camera looks is that the cameras use infrared night light. It can change the appearance of things.
For example, my husband has blonde hair and blue eyes but his hair and eyes both look dark. His eyes look like black holes. My husband also has a very unique feature on his face that doesn’t show up on the camera. I only know it’s him because I know him so well but to anyone else, they would guess his face wrong.

I hope this makes sense.
Yes, thanks for mentioning. I had forgotten about that, when I first saw images.

I wonder if the person had light colored eyes ( blue, grey, etc).

In images, some show very dark eyes, other close up image of face show light eyes.

Any thoughts on eye color? Light vs dark? ( not exact color)

TMZ reporting a new note ……

  • #21,476
Harvey Levin on Foxnews right now saying they got a note from a person claiming to have info on NG and asking for bitcoin to reveal it.

  • #21,477
I’m going to hold off on accepting Sperry’s white van confirmation. A few Twitter users are questioning it plus I can find no other source to verify it. Thank you.
I couldn’t find the original source of the white van theory other than Facebook and Fox News, but I have seen it mentioned here a few times. Anyone else think it’s a red herring a la the DC Sniper? Remember they were sure that was an unmarked white van too? They’re ubiquitous, so it’s easy to notice one and it’s also high probability they’re in any given area at any time.

They report that the note identifies a person who committed the crime and asked for 1 bitcoin. Gives an email address of the person. (?) and says they have been trying to reach sil and sister. Watching on Fox News now.

Excellent questions. We don't know if the blood was dropped before or during the incident. Many have speculated it was during when she was exited through the front door. But the reality is we don't know.

The backpack - yeah, what the heck is in there? Doesn't seem robbery was the motive with no space left to stash his loot. Seems very nefarious.

1. There is one leaf piece (centre left in photo) on top of a blood drop - see post:
