Just curious: why not?
Kind of flipping around back and forth, so not a solid opinion yet.
It just seems like they know they'd get caught and would probably not benefit and would lose their livelihood ?
This crime feels more personal, imo.
Interesting to note that LE still have cleared no one.
Omo.

I’m thinking the footage was wiped and Google have gone through a recovery process for it which may have been very time consuming
Knowing Google, it was the actual adminisrative processing of the request that took most of the time. They are not know for responding quickly or efficiently. That video was no doubt compressed, but shouldn't have taken much time to locate and decompress for authorities.

No offence intended but I think there is only one family who will never , ever be the same

Yes the media are vultures but sometimes we are glad of the info they provide in a case .

Yes this man and his family were put in the spotlight unnecessarily but they will recover . Now if they are targeted because of it that is an entirely different scenario but I think the general consensus is empathy for him

If it were my family member that was in a situation like Nancy, I wouldn't want a tip to be allowed slide in fear of offending or highlighting a mistaken perp .

The media is only feeding the metaphorical piranhas which are a public waiting with bated breathe for any tiny detail

So blaming media is a ridiculous as its the consumer of said media that buys in by ravishing every word imo jmo

If the perp turned out to be guilty there would be no empathy for his MIL or his family period
We really can't fault anyone for what went down last night. If this were any other case we probably would not have heard a peep about him being picked up and questioned. To LE this is their daily business and we really don't know if they still have questions about this guy or not. He and some members of his family are why we know what happened last night. All JMO

Right I would expect the FBI to be able to have additional access to someone in charge at Google to expedite this faster then it was.

I guess you're right.
I had thought though that maybe someone who worked for her may have been thinking a long time behind the scenes.

But you'd think LE would see a real connection by now -- they usually do (in various cases I've read about in the past).

I read this morning that they were moving swat teams and bomb technicians on to her property. I'm just wondering if she even left the property. She may be hidden or buried in her home or on her property.
Please provide a source for this information.

If LE had enough info on C (who did not live near either AG or NG) to detain him, why were LE searching the brush near AG's home just a couple hours before that?

Possibly a diversion ?
Also wanting to know if cellphone pings or some other information put the now-innocent C. in Nancy's general area .
How did LE hone in on him in the first place ?
Of course he may have been visiting someone or out shopping at a nearby store, or any other reason.... which would put him in the area.
Imo.

Agree. Tech compliance with subpoenas is glacial.

It would even be easier to rob the Louvre. Kidnapping for ransom as purely a means to money is insane. You'd have better chances of getting away with robbing a bank because the national news isn't going to do wall to wall coverage of it... it would just be a blip in the news.
Agree. The ransom seems like something to throw LE off. And in my opinion. The mastermind will already benefit upon her death via will or something. Jmo

But why? Why take an 84 yr old woman? Why?
Why not? I think that her age has not much to do with it. If it's someone looking to settle a score with SG or another family member, I would think that any family member would do. It could just as easily have been a small child, a spouse, or another family member that was kidnapped. Or perhaps it's that her age made the kidnapper think that SG/family members would be more likely to want to pay a ransom and get their mother back. This woman, despite of or because of her age, was specifically chosen.

Seems as though the investigation is scattered.
To me this looks like they are following all avenues of investigation simultaneously.

When they start to get a solid trail to follow you will see convergence.

They are spending an awful lot of time in an around AG's home however. If familial involvement had been proven to be off the table... well, they have better things they could be doing. This tells me they haven't been able to do that yet.

A lot of people thought this about Luigi Mangione's eyes when he was seen in a mask. It's funny because I don't think Luigi's eyes really look "feminine" when you see his whole face.... "pretty" but not feminine. But when you remove the context of the rest of his face and view his eyes in isolation, they absolutely do. I think what we're dealing with here is that same lack of context.
The musical artist Prince would appear the same way.Maybe not common?

That would have taken some doing. Was there time for that before LE began searching?

So, if this was not a kidnapping for ransom, why take Nancy at all? Was it initially just a burglary to take valuables, cash, etc. Why the hey did Nancy unlock two doors and allow this weirdly dressed and masked stranger into her home? Does any part of the retrieved video of how this guy gained access to the house? Could he have someway got in without alerting Nancy, poked around looking for things to steal for 20-30 minutes, and either woke her up or she became aware of an intruder and he decided to take her? This case just gets curiouser and curiouser.

I think he delivered something to that house recently. That is all. There were probably other deliveries so I would think they are checking on all of them. FedEx,UPS, DoorDash, Prime etc will have that info.

Do we have any official or mainstream sources saying that this person has been determined to be not connected to the case?

  • #21,679
Last night, the FBI said they had multiple persons of interests.
If that’s true why are they not right at this moment interviewing one of these POIs?
They have all the time in the world to catch the perpetrator, but the clock is ticking rapidly for finding NG alive.
LE was fast moving and decisive yesterday. They got it wrong. So move on to the next POI. We can’t have lulls here.

I’m really worried about the status of the investigation. I thought for sure, given the intense focus on specific areas, they were focusing in on specific someone(s). But the intense reaction from last night makes me think they don’t really have much else. I hope I’m wrong. MOO
