Such an odd case. I don’t know what to think. I do think LE needs to try and get control of the circus this is becoming. Even a press conference to review info already made public.

I mean, we went Nancy didn’t show up at church to Nancy only attended online church to Nancy was headed to a friends to watch online church.

Maybe they’re just holding everything close to the chest, but these little details matter IF they need a tip or lead from the public.

Maybe they don’t and they’re circling in on someone. Unfortunately, leaning away from that seeing how this week has gone.

Hope I’m wrong! This must be unimaginable for the family. Especially Savannah, who would have first hand knowledge of how cases can go unsolved due to mistakes early on in the investigation due to her previous reporting.

I don’t know where people are getting this. There is no evidence that she was not ambulatory! She lived alone, drove an SUV, had an active social life.

It is natural that in public statements after her disappearance that her age and frailty were emphasized and even exaggerated to create a sense of urgency & possibly to evoke a bit f compassion in whoever has her.

People are latching onto a few such remarks that were aimed at the criminals and turning NG into an invalid who cannot function on her own. It’s not reflective of reality.

The ageism in this discussion is very exasperating.

The ignoring of facts as provided in WS approved links is tiring.

So is assuming a person who is limited in mobility, frail and in constant pain is less of a person. They are not, imo.

I think it is because he thought he disabled it by disabling the Internet and then when he walked up to it he saw the light that comes on when it detects motion.

Good thought. I agree he may have thought the internet was off. Imagine his surprise (or annoyance) if he thought he, or his partner cut the wrong wire. To my knowledge it has never been revealed (or leaked) that an internet connectivity cable was cut. To me, this would have been the most efficient way to disable the cameras both inside and out.

One of the most perplexing facts of this case.

So LE knew immediately to call in homicide but don’t see the need to tape off the area with blood?!

Some mistakes appear to have been made early in this case (abandoning the scene early, miscommunications from early press conferences, for examples) and a retired officer with 20 years experience there (7 in homicide) indicated there has been a lot of turnover and many current officers only have two to three years experience, so are fairly green. ETA: this was in a Brian Entin interview featured on one of Tricia’s live YouTube shows.

And the crime(s) remain unsolved.

So, it is likely that those leading the investigation have decided it is wise to go back to the beginning, take a fresh look, and redo steps, perhaps with new and more experienced and detail-oriented sets of eyes. Something may have been missed that will now be caught. Seems like a good idea.

Perhaps overly optimistic, but they could be looking for things or evidence other than a body.

I'm not sure she's nearby as I'd be shocked that they hadn't found her by now.

But what it tells me is that investigators have been unable to verify that she left the area.

They can't identify a suspicious vehicle from cameras in the aprox vicinity, ie local businesses etc that fit their timeline.

Therefore they keep going back to square one

If she's dead and decomposing in a populated area, in the open.....TRUST ME, the odor would be noticed within hours. I am guessing the desert ( if deceased) is her final resting place. Trying to track cars in and out is time consuming and so far as we know, unproductive. Right now, it's an avenue for them along with tips gleaned from the community as to the perps identity from the doorbell video. I do not think she is dead and in the open in a suburban neighborhood backyard.

There are so many possibilities here that every scenario has a pretty low probability of being right.

I get the impression this was targeted, as this guy came prepared. His actions with the doorbell camera don't indicate to me that he was overly familiar with that house.

It's almost as if he was told about it.

The ransom thing really throws this off. It doesn't appear that the FBI was buying it because that money was apparently not paid.

The demand occurred late in the proceedings, it was done bizarrely (reaching out to news outlets), and contained absolutely no proof of life. It looks to me like an afterthought, perhaps by an opportunist, or someone trying to mislead the investigation.

It’s an interesting question. It could be items like coveralls, tapes, cable ties etc. Items to restrain her and secondary items to reduce the chances of transfer dna being left in the transport vehicle.

I think bad information was reported by this CNN guest regarding a tattoo. I’m trying to see if a mod can delete that part of my post. If not, I will delete the whole thing since I’m no longer able to edit.

If you go to FBI's page which displays the photos released, the 4th photo (L to R) POTENTIALLY shows a dark mark on the skin between the glove and the cuff. The mark can also be seen in the next photo but not as well.
