Just my speculation- It's very possible he or they thought they planned a perfect crime.
And if it didn't unfold according to what they expected, they may have been shook up.
That's when errors are often made.

I’d agree that the attacker then had his hands full anyway you look at it.

And he sure didn’t want to be caught with that gear so throwing it out randomly might have seemed to him his best bet for disposal under the circumstances.

imo

Here is Harvey Levin’s commentary regarding the new video of individual with similar backpack just before kidnapping.

1.52 am and 5 miles from NG house is very interesting.

A neighbor of Nancy Guthrie’s tells Fox News’ @SarahEalegre investigators are seeking video footage from Jan. 11 (9 PM–midnight) and Jan. 31 (9:30–11:00). The alert also references a “suspicious vehicle on Via Entrada around 10:00 AM on January 31.”

Thank you for this, and welcome back.
That business card has been weighing heavily on my mind. Now that I've read your post, I wonder if NG had a recent doctors appointment, or possibly an issue at her financial institution(s)? Someone may have reached out to APS on her behalf and they came to visit her. Would there be a file under her name at APS if the case were in the very beginning stages?
I wonder, too, if this is why her church friend was so worried about her that morning.
IMO.
I had to involve APS in Yuma, AZ in December concerning my mom with Dementia who lives there. I live out of state. I'm going to ask my APS contact about this.

Yes I think so. Here's a male one with facial hair and a lady one with lashes too.

I think the mask visible through the eye holes is clearly female and possibly with lashes attached to the mask eyelids.

I think the mask visible through the mouth hole is male and has facial hair.

Maybe they cut up and layered them.

That takes some planning.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the perpetrator wore something like this. If that’s the case, it’s hard to square with claims that this person was “slow,” not a professional, or that the whole thing wasn’t organized or planned.

It can’t be the same person. This video was recorded at the same time the other guy was at NG’s house.

Even beyond that the jacket is different, neither backpack is the ozark trail backpack, and his build is different.
I agree on everything you are saying except the time. Harvey is claiming that the FBI has confirmed that the nest video from the porch was at 2:12 AM. First I am hearing such a thing. Which puts a whole new timeline on things.

Agree. No way this perp planned and committed this elaborate crime, and then dumped the stuff in plain view and near the crime scene. I mean, yeah, he could've hit his head or had a stroke while there and instantly lost 40 IQ points, but I doubt it.

JMO.
…but how well planned was it? The guy is bumbling around the porch with not even the most basic plan for dealing with the doorbell camera. Even if you don’t know if she had a camera, you would at least be prepared in the event it was there. Just an inch long piece of tape would cover the lens. Or a clawfoot hammer would quickly unmount it. Instead he wastes time holding his fist in front of his face while he sees how tight the camera is mounted then looking around the porch and yard before deciding that a scraggly plant is the best thing to block it.

Why would you wear glasses under a mask? They’d get steamed up and you wouldn’t be able to see a thing.

If perp was visually impaired he’s more likely to put contact lenses in.
I don't see glasses but prob would have been a good idea to put some sunglasses on to hide the eyes, even if it was at night. Probably could have managed with them on long enough to dismantle that camera .

The backpacks full going in make me think she didn’t leave alive.. has police ever said they saw her leave on camera?

imo

trying to open a dumpster to put it into. unable to get the lid up (locked?) so he gives up and leaves. maybe looking for another dumpster.
There’s 2 garbage bins right there. These Tucson criminals are odd ducks that’s for sure….

Who is Harvey and what’s the actual source for the timeline change? It’s been consistently stated there were two different cameras reporting events at 1:47 and at 2:12.

Well, there always has been that mysterious 2:12 am time stamp where the camera "picked up a person" but LE always said there was no video of it. Until now.

Did they mean to abduct or kill her? Killing without robbery seems planned, extreme, that someone was already paying.

i kinda see something black swing in front of his waist for a split second at the 11 second mark, but hard to tell what it is. if anything. :/

but what i don't understand is what he's even doing over the fence. it's not like he's taking or handing the backpack to someone else because he holds onto the same bag the entire time. maybe hanging it over the fence for someone else to put something in it? weird.
he's trying to get into the gate. i think he's just holding the backpack in such a way that he's shielded from the people whose yard it is. He's covering his face.

if it ends up being a woman, i'll give every person who's posted in this thread a million dollars.
I think it's a man also, just in case it is a woman, Don't forget my million. ha

There are women who murder and kidnap. There are women who are 5'10. The stats that were reported are incorrect. Women account for 24%. This isn't a small percentage . It is almost a quarter.
24% is the number for violent crimes in general, but when you look at stranger abductions, the percentage is much lower (5%). when it comes to abductions, it’s much more common to see women kidnap their own children when they no longer have (full) custody.

personally, after seeing the way he moves, there is no doubt in my mind that this is a man
