“the statement is moving through the FBI chain of commands” makes it sound like it might be related to the ransom note since IIRC the FBI is the lead agency on that.

Im leaning towards this being tied to the email. But fingers crossed for other news.

It is difficult to imagine that the perpetrator(s) of any fake ransom or fraudulent emails involved with this case would actually be located only 2 miles away from the crime scene. I would be surprised if any of the unrelated emails or ransom requests were even coming from Arizona assuming they were, in fact, from people unrelated to whomever came for NG. If this isn’t a goose chase detainment, I would bet on it being related to the actual local crime and not a cyber fraudster.

I did see that News Nation is covering it live on YouTube, but I switched to watching CNN and News Nation on cable. I don't watch FoxNews, but they are covering it, too. Ed Lavandera is on the scene for CNN. Looking for Brian Entin on News Nation, but I don't see him

I also don’t see someone confusing AG and TC as mother and son, and on top of that I’m pretty sure BE would recognize them. Even in the rain.
