I disagree. You have a tip and you send someone out to investigate the lead---you don't send 50 LE vehicles to the site. There have been many times they interviewed someone based on a tip and then followed them around. For instance, the perp in the Abby and Libby case self reported he was at the site. Did LE send a whole swat team to his house? Maybe they should have--but I digress. NO, they sent a DNR officer to interview.

This is just crazy the way this is being handled---media or no media.
I agree, mostly. But man I wish they had sent a SWAT team to Richard Allen's house right away.

I'm not sure how reliable or relevant this is, but a quick search of the term "Can you trace bitcoin" on Google Trends shows that there was a hit, in Arizona, on the 20th January. Over the last 30 days there were hits for the same search term in only 6 of the 50 states in the USA. The only search that appeared prior to NG's disappearance? The one in Arizona.

Apologies of this has been posted previously, or can be easily debunked, I just thought it was interesting.
This could be very significant. MO

"Supposedly"???? Can you expound on that? Can you also define "really strange ties to the Middle East? What is your definition? Relatives there? Born there? Visited there? Travels there frequently and returns with Arabian tax returns??? Putting random people's names or initials on here and photos is just wayyyy off, IMO. Would you like the suspicion put on your family member when their name hasnt even been released by LE? I really do think that discretion is the better part of valor here. JMO..At this point, this person is becoming a victim himself. MOO
Too many posts like this—I came here looking for not gossip but that seems to be half the posts…

Just understand this show of force is designed to show they are working as hard as they can as much as to say we have viable leads. Wish it was less show and more research since this again has been a nothing burger and probably another half million down the drain. I hope Tucson has a large tax base and flush coffers because this is going to be a line item impact on city budget.
And that sounds really tacky—but we all know crime solving has budget perimeters that influence the solve rate. Every victim doesn’t get this same level of involvement.
If this was primarily the FBI, the federal tax payer is footing the bill not the Tucson resident.

If Abby and Libby were kidnapped and there was a possibility of still rescuing them alive, they would not have sent one guy out to do a knocker. They would have sent 50 LE and a whole swat team.

That's my question. How well do they vet and determine what is a reasonable lead? This is the second time. Talk about getting hopes up - imagine the Guthrie family last night.

This investigation costs money. A lot of money. I'm all for LE pursuing leads, but like you say - let's hope when they gather all the resources they did last night that it is - reasonable.

As far as the media "circus" people would complain if all aspects of this case wasn't being reported on. The media would be accused of "hiding information" and "not being transparent." People don't have to watch the media "circus." It is optional! The media can't help some viewers "breathlessly" speculate on what LE is doing. The media are doing their jobs.

IMO—some media is more about injecting themselves in the news cycle. I think Ashley B has done that and is sticking to her story because to say she put her foot in her mouth wouldn’t help her numbers. Reporting the news is one thing—getting too involved in the crime scene to be first with a news bite is something else—
IMO…

LE deploys their SWAT team and mobile unit when they believe--based on the evidence they have--that they may have found NG's abductor. Leads and tips have to be backed up with solid evidence for the SWAT team to deploy. MOO

That many cops for a lead and no arrests? I’m losing faith in this investigation.
Im very invested in this case but I told myself last night before I went to bed that if this was another failed bust up I had to walk away and I’m going to be doing that. I didn’t post anything last night but I still feel gross feeding from the media trough over of all of this. I really believed the raid last night was the end and the family would finally have some answers. Poor Nancy. Her children and family must be devastated, losing their minds with all these twists and turns. What a gut punch! I feel so bad for them. Unfortunately today marks 2 weeks. Life Goes on. I hope I’m wrong but I can’t see LEO/FBI maintaining this large of a presence much longer. There has been so much money, time, and resources, and man power on this case that it is supremely disappointing to know that no arrests were made last night. Prayers for Nancy and family. MOO

Thank you all for allowing me to be here and speak freely and engage in conversation. Mods please delete my account, I don’t know how to do it. Thank you ❤️☮️

It almost seems as though LE feel pressure to act too quickly because of media eye on them.
From the beginning, LE has appeared to have discombobulated by the enormous amount of media attention. JMO

Yes—there will be separate balance sheets for each LE—and I guess most of the bill is the county sheriff’s office since NG house is in county not city limits.
My bad for being too general…I just meant there is a LOT of money being spent on this operation. And not all crimes can be investigated with the same level of financial support, unfortunately.
How good would AI do in case like this? Are we close to Minority Report era yet?

IIRC, Richard Allen self reported the next day. Were Abby and Libby found when he called or still missing?

I can't recall if initially they were considered just missing or abducted and if there is a difference on how LE handles missing, abducted or kidnapping cases?

The ones that have a sympathetic or offbeat "angle". PREGNANT woman disappears, COED mass murder, CEO of company gets gunned down in Manhattan, PAGEANT child abducted from home, PRETTY blonde girl disappears from class trip, MOTHER OF CELEBRITY missing . Ransom notes definitely add to the intrigue Just the amount of crimes sleuthed here on WEBSLEUTHS vs the amount of national scrutiny given by the media to 1000's of missing people should tell us that this is also a ratings grabber for the networks and the length of this 24/7 almost exclusive coverage has become excessive. . and not discernibly productive. JMO

Nevermind. Misread.

I'm not sure why people are so quick to say last night's police activity yielded nothing. They'll need time to process any evidence they gathered. Until then, they really shouldn't speculate on the value of what they may have found last night. Seems like a good time for us all to take a break and check back later.
Also a reminder that it’s only been 2 weeks…it feels like a long time (especially for the poor family) but in the grand scheme of investigations it’s really not.

In the meantime lets continue to pray, or send love and healing vibes whatever your preference, for NG and her family and for justice to be on its way.
