IMO—some media is more about injecting themselves in the news cycle. I think Ashley B has done that and is sticking to her story because to say she put her foot in her mouth wouldn’t help her numbers. Reporting the news is one thing—getting too involved in the crime scene to be first with a news bite is something else—That's my question. How well do they vet and determine what is a reasonable lead? This is the second time. Talk about getting hopes up - imagine the Guthrie family last night.
This investigation costs money. A lot of money. I'm all for LE pursuing leads, but like you say - let's hope when they gather all the resources they did last night that it is - reasonable.
As far as the media "circus" people would complain if all aspects of this case wasn't being reported on. The media would be accused of "hiding information" and "not being transparent." People don't have to watch the media "circus." It is optional! The media can't help some viewers "breathlessly" speculate on what LE is doing. The media are doing their jobs.
