I’ve been wondering about those marks too. My first thought was that it looks like the pattern from trainers. And maybe it is.

But what is a little strange is that we see the exact same pattern twice (at least). What are the chances the exact same part of a shoe landed in a blood droplet?

Could it be something else, like part of a cane tip? I haven’t a clue what kind of cane Nancy has, so take this with a huge grain of salt. (My photo example here is if quite a… robust cane tip.)
It wouldn't have to be the same part of an object landing in blood twice, transfer is a wet substance (ie blood) getting on the object once (ie stepping on a blood droplet) and then leaving the same markings on the surface as it moves, like a foot taking steps, or in your example a cane.

Just think how that would initally look to LE if Nancy's nest camera's disconnected via her phone at 1:47 a.m.?
Wouldn't you immediately suspect family or someone really close?
Of course you would.
But now with the burglary gone wrong theory its possible the perp may have ordered Nancy to disconnect the cameras via her phone.

I posted this last night. LE should potentially be able tie the glove to the Guthrie residence through plant DNA. The glove in question , if used by the perp, should be loaded with lantana plant DNA .

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told the Daily Mail that specialists are working with Google to extract data from cameras in Nancy Guthrie's Arizona home, despite initial setbacks due to offline systems or expired subscriptions.

Google said at first we don't have anything," Nanos told The Daily Mail. "But we're going to do our best to try to what they call 'scratch'.

"It's hard. It's like scratching through layers, think of it like you have eight layers of paint on your house. They want to go to the sixth or seventh layer and they have to be very delicate about it not to destroy what's there.

"I just hope they can scrape a camera shot down that driveway to identify a vehicle. Because, my goodness, you can't put a mask on a vehicle, right?"

The sheriff hopes the forensic work can reveal a vehicle used during the incident, noting, "I just hope they can scrape a camera shot down that driveway to identify a vehicle. Because, my goodness, you can't put a mask on a vehicle, right?"

Nanos oversees a massive team of 400 personnel from local law enforcement, the FBI, and other agencies working nonstop, and he says they've received roughly 40,000 to 50,000 tips, sometimes reaching 5,000 per hour.

Despite criticism online, Nanos stressed the thoroughness of his team's initial investigation, saying officers spent nearly 20 hours processing the scene before the FBI arrived to conduct their work.

He addressed rumors surrounding family members, including Tommaso Cioni, clarifying that no one has been cleared or ruled out in the case, and emphasized that the Guthrie family has been fully cooperative throughout.

While the sheriff would not detail forced entry, camera placements, or exactly how Nancy was removed, he confirmed that only one camera was tampered with by the intruder, a key focus for forensic analysis.

Andrew Gould, a former Arizona Supreme Court Justice, has taken the unusual step of calling for Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos to step aside and let the FBI run the investigation. Appearing on Fox News Live, Gould was blunt.

'I think he has made some mistakes in this case that have impeded the investigation,' he said. 'It is my opinion that he should step out of the way and let the FBI do its job. I think his deputies are doing a very fine job on the ground, but my concern is that the sheriff is becoming more of the story than trying to bring these people to justice and bring Nancy Guthrie home safe and sound.'

(If someone posted this previously, my apologies for repeating. I did try to look through last 3 pages & didn’t see it yet.)
This is exactly what happened in my opinion. There are several factors supporting that theory

Absolutely. That’s probably what it is. I only mentioned the possibility because the marks look to be of similar… I’m not sure how to say it… intensity? One doesn’t look particularly weaker than the other. It’s so hard to tell from the photo.

I’m also trying to think of why LE seems to have thought Nancy could still be alive, even if they don’t anymore. It’s either wishful thinking or they have some evidence that points to her leaving alive.

Here is a photo taken from the NBC Nightly News/FB Tom Llamas from 02/12 and showing the back sliding door, which we know had been left open, when family arrived for their wellness check:

So the subject possibly gained access via back sliding door (forced entry) after trying to enter through the front door (main entrance)? What are your thoughts about the sequence of events and why do you think like that? Just curious.

Cheers,

Just caught up on Savannahs new video - I felt that video was much more personal than other videos - almost like she thinks she may know the person who abducted her mother MOO
Been reading all the theories in here and I have a couple thoughts. First, I think SG’s latest video, she is talking to the person who wanted one bitcoin for the information he had on the person who had something to do with this. SG say u are not alone. We are here indicating they will help him if he comes to them. Also I think it’s revenge and might not be on SG. 51 mins in the house? Were they interrogating her to see what she knew about something and got hurt cause it didn’t go well? this is all My Opinion Only

If Nancy conversed with her perp at any point she could have told him something along the lines that her daughter is Savannah Guthrie from the Today Show.
At that point he knows that the full force of the law is going to come down on him regardless of the outcome. This might be why he decided to take her. Then the ransom idea came later.

Regarding Lantana Man (man outside NG’s front door): Can someone venture some theories about the gun? Do burglars breaking into a home usually carry deadly weapons? His weapon was in a holster that wasn’t made for that particular gun, and it was positioned uh, unconventionally, IMO.

He seemed more preoccupied with being undetected and less preoccupied with stealing property, IMO. If I’m not mistaken, armed robbery or armed kidnapping carries a much different sentence than breaking and entering. IMO. JMO.

I think LE perhaps believes that the abduction was more about her then her mother. The abductor is seeking her attention.
Agree, and this is why I think authorities erred in not encouraging SG to do more frequent videos from Day One.

Every theory has holes, f'sure and nothing seems to make sense. However, something can't be dismissed because it is "unlikely". We have no idea what contacts they have... only takes a friend of a friend.

Take the Adelsons, for example. Well respected family with dental business... okay, sure, some of son Charlie's (CA) exploits were dicey but we only know about these after the fact. Face value - very respectable family. But player CA had a g/f who had connections with Miami gangbangers. Next minute - CA's ex brother-in-law (DM) was shot and killed by unsophisticated (to say the least!) hitmen - and all because CA's sister W (recently divorced from DM) and W & CA's mom had enough of dealing with DM. [short version]
lol. My favorite true crime case. Still wondering if they will ever arrest Wendi. The poor Markels losing their son and grandsons through the evil of that family. But absolutely, they are the poster for you just never know. Who would ever think an academic, wealthy, well-connected to politicians and judges family full of doctors and lawyers would’ve whacked their ex-in-law? Also, no matter how lovely a family can be, there may always be one member that is not like the others.

The sheriff leading the search for Nancy Guthrie has said he “understands” why some have said her son-in-law should be seen as a suspect, but insisted he didn’t want to put “a mark on somebody who could be completely innocent.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said that while “nobody” has been ruled out, he was troubled by “nasty stuff” being circulated about Cioni.

“If he [Tommaso Cioni] is guilty, if he’s the one who did it, and we’re able to prove that, then at that time jump on it but don’t come out of nowhere with this,” Sheriff Nanos told the Daily Mail on Sunday.

“I understand the pundits are out there. They’re gonna say, well, he’s the last one to see her alive. We understand that stuff. But, my goodness, you’re putting a mark on somebody who could be completely innocent. And more important than that, he’s family,” he added.

“People out there can get pretty ugly and mean and nasty and not have the facts. I tell my journalists, you guys need to be a little more responsible… because that’s just really nasty stuff,” the sheriff said

Notice the words SG used in the latest video. You are not lost. You are not alone. This is IMO, SG KNOWING the REAL profile that LE has developed. An, obsessed, scorned, socially awkward loner. Someone who has developed an entire fantasy life around SG being his secret lover. Someone who lives with his mommy, perhaps. Possibly, bookish or nerdy. He may have an altar of sorts, erected in his home. Photos, posters, tapes of SG speaking on TV. He could no longer tolerate being spurned. His daily ritual of watching the Today show was the thread that held him together. He HAD to act on his twisted impulses. The fact SG was out for several weeks for surgery made him become totally unhinged. He needed to do this kidnaping before she slipped through his fingers again and went to Milan to cover the Olympics. Delusional Stalker. jmo moo

How can this have been "politically motivated"?
NG had posted political opinions on her Facebook page. I don't actually think it was politically motivated, but it is one theory. We know so little. JMO

Celebrity based wealth could be more public and thus easier to recognize than other bases for wealth.

In the end, the daughter's position as a host of The Today show made her far more visible and recognizable than other wealthy people in both name and appearance. Though the crime targeted the mother, the daughterr's daily visibility could have made the link easier to recognize and to confirm.

And a news anchor looks directly into the camera to talk to the audience. For some unhinged person that can feel like intimacy and start to feed a delusion. I have no idea if there are any stats on this but I would not be surprised if news anchors (as a profession) have a higher incident of stalkers because their positions are so forward facing. IMO

Sheriff leading Nancy Guthrie search ‘understands’ interest in son-in-law Tommaso Cioni — but warns of jumping to conclusions

Since he was dressed head to toe to cover his identity and had a bite light he may be a prolific burglar. He might carry a gun just in case he ever had to use it if caught etc.
