That sounds like AI.

Again this footage was recovered from the Google servers. Once it was uploaded from the doorbell, it was irrelevant whether the doorbell was still online or not when it comes to recovery.
Just because it was recovered from Google's servers does not mean that it reconnected at NG's house. The camera may have been badly damaged by the suspect, including it's Wi-Fi connection hardware, and then was sent off to Google to see if they could find a way to "reconnect" it or transfer the data from the camera's internal buffer. Google personnel may have been the ones who reconnected it for the transfer of data to their servers.

I can understand the legalities surrounding the reward money and its' inability to be used towards this most presumably hoax letter. I do wonder if there is a legal reason prohibiting the G family or anyone else from paying the same dollar amount to this person who is clearly committing a crime by asking for it in exchange for information.

I don't know the answer about the legality of doing it, but I imagine there's probably a "if we do it this time, it'll become a more common extortion scheme for any high profile crime, and may even increase the number of those crimes" component to it.

JMO.

No, they were asking about a man spotted around 5m away with two backpacks at a similar time. That man was cleared as being involved
Oh, ok.
Thanks for clarifying !

Am just now trying to catch up a bit here as well.
All of you 'sleuthers' here are pages ahead of me.

When you click on the link, there is a video of Harvey Levin (above written article) discussing this 4th letter, & his proposition to the author of the letter (which is to give the info to TMZ … TMZ will forward to LE … Author of letter gets reward if info is correct, they find Nancy, etc).

i'm pretty sure they ruled that guy out as being connected pretty shortly after the video was released. i'll edit when i find a source.
Thank you!

Would NG's cardiologist have access to her pacemaker data? If pacemaker is continuing to work with its batteries would it send any data? Would absence of data indicate anything? (I have no clue about pacemakers, obviously). JMO

Yes. I find this odd. I don’t know what to make of it. I guess these fbi psychologists know more than us?

I’m a religious person. Sometimes religious people want to believe the best about everyone and everything. Maybe that’s what SG is doing right now in order to cope. It’s a coping mechanism. Poor thing.

But realistically, there’s good and there’s evil, and whoever did this is evil. Really really evil, and you can’t reason and talk sense into evil.

You can however bargain with evil. Money talks when it comes to evil criminals.
SG, .SEND THE MONEY..This cloak and dagger, Instagram, click bait, video strategy is losing it's luster and credibility. MONEY TALKS. You still don't know who the perp is and what you are dealing with. Your stalker might be well barricaded and dug in. IF the ransom writer has info, take the gamble for your mom's life. JMO

Then it signals that threats and extortion work. There are so many families with missing loved ones, even children. This risks them, and future victims.

If homeboy knows something, prove it. But they don't..... to date, it appears. IMO

I agree.

I would do anything if this were my mother, but I would HAVE TO KNOW that my mom was alive and I would need the proof of life. However that would be.

I doubt they would do so even if Nancy were still alive because it makes them traceable.

But I mean even I could write some stupid letter to Harvey Levin and claim to have Nancy, or state that I know who has her, and oh yeah, send me money.

I know the Guthries are desperate, as any of us would be in this situation, but I would want my mother home safely and not just show the next kidnapper that this is a fabulous way to become rich.

Hope this is allowed! Brian entin is live now with JB from WFLA discussing the case and going back through the facts. It's interesting to watch

That Robinson that was flying around the mountains yesterday is circling over NG home. Albeit at 3,000 ft which is way too high for "signal sniffer" or any search effort. My guess is private owner taking a look at the house out of curiousity. JMO

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she was taken to Mexico. That will likely create even more difficulty for LE, although I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how much cooperation there is there.
If she was alive at the time they went through Border Control and entered Mexico, NG being in Mexico would make sense. MOO

Scammers Target Families Who Post Missing Persons on Social Media

Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | Scammers Target Families Who Post Missing Persons on Social Media

This scenario is not the same as NG but still proves a point about these opportunistic scams. IMO

I think it’s very interesting the caption says that NEXT right thing….

This implies the kidnapper has done something right to this point, to me anyway.
"Just do the next right thing" common phrase, song, used when someone is overwhelmed or in DEEP

"The man says he has a burglary on his record from 10 years ago, so he's scared to come forward, presumably fearing he'd be implicated."

Didn't he previously state he was afraid what the perpetrator(s) would do to him if he exposed him (them), he was in fear of his life, wanted protection from the authorities ?

Now he's afraid about his record with a 10 year ago robbery?

Why is he giving two different stories?

Wondering - if the glove belongs to the person on the video, if he threw it out the window of a moving car, what side of the road was it on? Would it be a driver side or passenger side? If passenger side, maybe indicates a second person that drove.

A go fund me was form by a man in Arizona to help raise funds for the Bitcoin. I think we all saw that coming. Since I don’t want to bring attention to it, please just Google the information to get the article and see the page.
I find this pathetic. JMO. What does a poor family do? Since everyone here feels so sorry for all involved, I would guess you are all contributing? Of course not. The 100k in one of the bitcoin ransom notes is totally manageable for an upper middle class family, not withstanding SG is worth considerably more. In the final analysis, this is a FAMILY dilemma. Take out a 100k mortgage. IF NG is dead, one way of the other, you will get your money back. ( even if it means filing a claim against her estate. JMO

I think I read earlier in this thread that LE has stated without question that this is not a case of burglary gone wrong. That is unfortunate, because that is exactly what it looks like. In doing this they may be focusing on DNA of an alleged perpetrator and all the time it takes to get it, rather than the location of a medically compromised 84 yr. old woman, who must be in dire straits physically at this point.

I hope this is just a cover up ruse by police and they are actually examining the burglary aspect, or precious time will be wasted.

If this was a bungled burglary by a non-professional, he will have panicked and likely separated himself from her as quickly as possible. I hope there are search teams combing the desert with drones, FLIR, and SAR teams.
IMO, in their communication with the public and sometimes through trusted news people. LE and FBI are intentionally using language designed to frighten the perpetrator and get him to panic and make a mistake. For example, they likely are surveilling cell phones and the perp might make an only-when-frightened type phone call that could be revealing and helpful to build a case against him. Or, the perp might drive somewhere revealing or do something else that could allow LE to garner more information and evidence against him. JMO

I believe there was a report yesterday saying that the glove that has been sent for testing is NOT the glove that was photographed at the side of the road
