I use the the sturdy black disposable nitrile ones at work. I just tried them on and two did not show any bulk and the third pair would not go more than half way down over the fingers even with pulling hard on them.

So two sizes? A large glove to cover the smaller ones or to cover another kind of glove.

Some of the non disposable ones have a liner that would add the bulk.

Yes, gloves like these available most any Ace Harware, Tractor Supply, Harbor Feight other Big Box stores im sure! Could be neoprene.

If this kind of thing is actually true, IMO this sounds exactly NOTHING like a genuine kidnapper demanding $6,000 000 in Bitcoin, stat.

In my opinion, a serious and knowledgeable crypto thief is not fooling around or making small talk or any kind of conversation.

The first note we heard about from TMZ did IMO seem genuine, according to whatever untraceable address and well-informed about the workings of crypto which it appeared to contain.

These newer letters broadcast by TMZ strike me as more juvenile.

JMO for now.
I don't have a link, as I mentioned, just fuzzy memory, but my memory is that this was the first ransom note – the same one that has the BTC wallet details. No point discussing it further, unless someone can find it.

Personally, I think the lantana was a stroke of genius. To me it means he’s a problem solver.
Interesting perspective that I don’t think is necessarily wrong. But I still have to wonder why not just cover up the cam with your gloved hand? The flowers didn’t hide his face so he could’ve just turned his head and simultaneously completely blacked out the camera with his hand.

Most people NG's age living alone would presumably have an emergency necklace or something that they can press at any time to call 911. I think it is to ensure they can get help if they have a fall or a medical emergency. How could an unknown intruder know if she had this or not? Only an insider would know this (that she didn't have one). I am leaning towards someone in her inner circle hiring a kidnapper or hitman off the dark web and that is the perp caught on camera. Maybe they even used bitcoin as payment. MOO.
Nancy had an Apple Watch, which does seem to have fall detection on it. I get it, it being in the charger negates the usefulness of it when she is in her bed asleep. This was not some incompetent doddering old woman incapable of living alone. She had cameras, used Uber, Apple products and monitoring. She met friends regularly. She may have even had a panic button in her home, as many alarm systems have them. I think that either the perpetrators were concerned with cameras only, or knew a lot about the protections in the home.
I think you are right...another breaking news story will send some out of Tucson.
I have seen the news fatigue come and go already. When a “breaking news” detail comes out, all eyes are on Tucson and tv stations stay fixed on the story. When the news slows down-even if it is just the latest Nanos non-press press statement, I think the story will fade. I’m still surprised they have not found her.

I know a lot of seniors. None, not one, has a Life Alert necklace.
Same here. My mom and 2 aunt all have Apple Watches. It’s the trendy and updated way to say “help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”!

January 11 seems to be an important date to the sheriff and investigators. Has anyone read anything regarding activities in the area on Jan 11. Could Nancy have been at an event and followed home after someone heard she had a famous daughter. I am not good at searching for articles, etc. They are stuck on the Jan 11 date for some reaason
Either Nancy's camera shows activity from that date or some other info they have (camera, witness statements, calls for service etc.) covers this date.

Is it possible to find historical police service calls for Tuscon? Perhaps someone can sleuth those dates.
Has anyone checked the neighborhood's social media for concerning posts on or around that date?

Here is a neighbor talking about Nancy's front door and where her bedroom was located. It is interesting.

Thanks for sharing this, @shonyakay .
It's interesting !!

From your link :
The neighbor says at about 1:42 that she doesn't know how he would've gained entry without a key, and that the metal/wire mesh screen door is very sturdy.
It sounds like there's a solid wood door right behind the screen one ?
Hmmm..

Eta : Want to bet all of the neighbors in the area have ramped up their home security ?
They're probably safer right now with all of the LE attention, but still.
Where are you, Nancy ?? 😭
Imo.

what is everyone's theory so far?

i honestly have no idea. certain information has been "reported" but not confirmed by LE, so who knows if it's true or not. i don't have a theory, but i will say i still don't rule anyone or any scenario out until we know more directly from LE.

Someone said that lantanas have a sticky residue, perhaps it was so he could get a better grip on the camera. Those gloves may have poor grip/ be slippy?

Seems like there might be a connection? Unverified claims allege that a woman identified as K — described in some posts as a niece of NG — was connected to a gray Range Rover seized by authorities during a late-night operation near the missing woman's home. The same claims have named L as the vehicle's owner and as a person of interest.

My theory changes hourly. I just can't figure this one out. Prayers for NG, SG and the family. JMO

Neoprene seems a good guess, imo.

The lower hand - may have to scroll down to see it- is what I am looking at.

You know how a brand new shirt, pants have those deep creases? It looks like you can see the "new" creases in the gloves. Indicating how they were folded on the rack or in shipping. Also my husband had some similar he bought to do a sandblasting project on our rocking chair. They were very bulky.

did anyone else notice this picture that shows a sliding glass door also on the FRONT of the house. It has a lil patio I guess in front of it, I can see a chair sitting there.

I can’t see it. Do you have a better pic?

I would just like to urge new or infrequent posters here to read the rules which appear at lower right of each page. And don’t just read the quick list, click on each topic and then the “Details” of at least the specific rule you are not sure of.

This is a fast moving thread but there have been lots of violations and those of us who have tried to learn and stick to the rules do not want the thread repeatedly closed to clean up after those who haven’t bothered to learn or abide by the rules.

PLEASE!

She would attract less attention in an area frequented by American tourists though, right? The person writes like an American, I’m not dead set they are Latino. If the person was convicted of burglary, they could be on the run and need safety or a pardon.

I wasn’t sure what to make of the “if you pay, we’ll return her within 7 hours” comment from the previous letter, but somewhere in Mexico could easily meet that timeline and make it harder for LE to get cooperation to bring her home. Around the time we learned that I had started wondering if she was down there.

Good point, but it is interesting that he said he had a past conviction of burglary soon after someone in LE 'minimized' the crime as a 'botched burglary'. One could infer that this is the suspect himself trying to set the stage for mitigating his own wrongdoing if/when caught.

JMO.
