AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

January 11 seems to be an important date to the sheriff and investigators. Has anyone read anything regarding activities in the area on Jan 11. Could Nancy have been at an event and followed home after someone heard she had a famous daughter. I am not good at searching for articles, etc. They are stuck on the Jan 11 date for some reaason

Either Nancy's camera shows activity from that date or some other info they have (camera, witness statements, calls for service etc.) covers this date.

Is it possible to find historical police service calls for Tuscon? Perhaps someone can sleuth those dates.
Has anyone checked the neighborhood's social media for concerning posts on or around that date?

i honestly have no idea. certain information has been "reported" but not confirmed by LE, so who knows if it's true or not. i don't have a theory, but i will say i still don't rule anyone or any scenario out until we know more directly from LE.

Interesting perspective that I don’t think is necessarily wrong. But I still have to wonder why not just cover up the cam with your gloved hand? The flowers didn’t hide his face so he could’ve just turned his head and simultaneously completely blacked out the camera with his hand.

You know how a brand new shirt, pants have those deep creases? It looks like you can see the "new" creases in the gloves. Indicating how they were folded on the rack or in shipping. Also my husband had some similar he bought to do a sandblasting project on our rocking chair. They were very bulky.

She would attract less attention in an area frequented by American tourists though, right? The person writes like an American, I’m not dead set they are Latino. If the person was convicted of burglary, they could be on the run and need safety or a pardon.

I wasn’t sure what to make of the “if you pay, we’ll return her within 7 hours” comment from the previous letter, but somewhere in Mexico could easily meet that timeline and make it harder for LE to get cooperation to bring her home. Around the time we learned that I had started wondering if she was down there.

Good point, but it is interesting that he said he had a past conviction of burglary soon after someone in LE 'minimized' the crime as a 'botched burglary'. One could infer that this is the suspect himself trying to set the stage for mitigating his own wrongdoing if/when caught.

That was very interesting. My thoughts all along has been that the person was going to go in that front door, but realized it was going to be difficult and went in another way. May have thought that once they took the camera, footage of them could not be found.

Ok, I have to assume LE has been looking through the Nogales border camera feed for the entire two weeks, in case the perps did go to Mexico, took NG. ( I doubt they took NG there). JMO

I think the perps might have gone to Mexico, but I seriously doubt they had NG in the car( unless back seat lying down, blanket or trunk. ) Taking NG across the border seems too risky, and why care for an older woman in Mexico? Do they expect to set up an ongoing payment arrangement? SG is the cash cow, extending out a supposed kidnapping. Very unlikely they have NG in Mexico.
Since no proof of life, very unlikely the ransom or tip info is real, JMO.

Anyway, I’m glad there is continuing communication from someone who thinks he knows something, maybe it will help solve this mystery!

Yeah, like i mentioned in that post and another poster did in a detailed analysis of Mexico, they probably did not take the much traveled Nogales border but a smaller border crossing. Maybe Naco or Lukeville or maybe had another route.

My point is thousands of Americans cross the border back and forth every single day just at Nogales. There are thousands more crossing at other locations. So there's a lot of two way traffic for Americans to go across and back to Mexico daily (for business, dental, tourism, etc.). Some even live near Tuscon and commute daily across the border, it's more of casual relationship in many border communities with even having family living on both sides.

As to why care for an older woman in Mexico? A poster pages back laid that out. It would be much easier. Meds are easy to come by (Americans across the border go INTO Mexico to buy meds all the time, including stuff you can't get here legally, and get less expensive dental and medical procedures). A caretaker could be found cheaply. There is a no snitch don't ask questions cultural element. If this is some ransom group all this could be facilitated easier, cheaper, and with less scrutiny in Mexico.

In my opinion, it's something financially motivated by someone who at least knew who lived in that house.

It seems to have some level of planning (seemingly bought a whole new outfit for it), I don't feel like a robbery gone wrong resulting in her death would lead to her body being removed.

This part is very much just my opinion from what I've seen, but I feel like NG was standing on the porch when the blood drops occurred. The only motion to them seems to be downward. Maybe they had her stood there as the vehicle pulled up to take her away. This only makes sense if there is more than one perp of course.
