Most likely, LE knows that NG is no longer alive. I believe they're using the "signal Sniffer" to locate her body. MOO
If she’s passed away, does it still generate a signal? I would try over the landfill and outskirts of the desert at this point.

I was waking in the night and getting up to use the restroom 5+ x in my 20s😂
And I would say the young people, I know sleep more odd hours than the older adults. The older adults that I know tend to go to bed and get up around the same time every day, it is the younger ones that sleep odd hours. SMH

With people wanting to explore the idea of it being an SG stalker..in almost all cases people start smaller such as commenting on posts, liking things, accidently "bumping into them" or in social media, following them on all platforms, sending fan letters way before it becomes stalking and then way before it becomes kidnap and possible murder of a loved one. So question, did SG have a creepier person attached to her, a stalker? Someone sending lots of letters? Im sure the police would know this?
I imagine SG receives her share of unsettling letters and messages. Given her public profile, she likely has a security team that evaluates which communications could pose a potential threat. I would also assume that local law enforcement in Tucson has explored that angle as part of their investigation. MOO

Yes, they have been flying the sniffer over the local area

Have they also cleared the 4 people they detained the other day?

Kind of a weird longshot and it’s probably been said before earlier in the thread but there’s the possibility that all of the emails to TMZ have been from the perp and they shifted to trying to get a much lower amount once they realised that no proof of life meant not getting their intended “jackpot”.

JMO

Was wondering the same on both - any one have the patience to provide a quick update on this?

I was following the news on this/WS closely up until this weekend (after the Friday night raid for which I stayed up until about 2am for LOL) and haven't really seen concrete responses to this.

My gut would lean toward there being some nexus (even if unproven) given the size of the response.

Don’t anyone read this and think it’s true. I’m just asking because I want clarity. Am I understanding that the glove DNA was not in codis but they haven’t said the DNA from inside the house is not in codis is that correct?
Again, I don’t know that this is true just looking to understand.
They have not said the DNA found in the home is not in codis but we can guess? it's not because there's been no arrest. The glove is likely unrelated. JMO

JMO, re outside gloves

I think they are “single” use nitrile gloves, no one tries on ahead in store, bought in boxes with several inside. Very stretchy, so they fit snugly when on.

If you are talking about the bulky, under gloves, not sure what type, if people try on in store.

These are not like buying leather Carhartt or Ugg gloves, $80-100, so the person wants the right size, fit, will wear a lot, keep a while.

JMO
I agree about the nitrile gloves, or similar. The “under gloves”, whatever kind they are, would likely have dna. However, how are you going to start checking dna on random gloves when you have no idea what they look like? I’m sure there are tens of thousands of gloves in the greater Tucson area. Unless a suspect is arrested or there is a search warrant for his property and or vehicle, and a glove is recovered, we have no idea what kind of gloves might be under the black ones. There is a soft, thin-ish, cloth gardening glove which might fit. Or those cheap, knit, stretchy gloves that are sold everywhere.
We might get lucky if he is caught on cctv when he purchased these items. If the suspect gathered the clothing he intended to use during the commission of this crime at a store rather than wearing something he already owned, I picture him moving rather furtively, head down, and quickly grabbing things from the racks; men’s gloves, check, lightweight backpack, check, knit mask, check and so on. These are all things you can find at any Walmart.

This case just doesn’t make any sense.

All the actual facts we know don’t really tell us anything.

There was a masked, strange acting man at the door captured on her nest camera.

We don’t know who he is. We don’t know if he took her out. We don’t know if he was walking up to every door in the neighborhood.

We know the garage door opened and closed in approximately a 2 minute interval at around 10:00pm-ish.

We have other facts too. But they’re also very vague. And are wide open to speculation.

This DNA may not prove anything. This could be the pool guy, the lawn guy, or anyone else who regularly does work for NG & he walked in to get a check, leaving his DNA. And it’s not in CODIS.

Obviously black gloves are discarded all over the place in Tucson and other places throughout the country. This could end up being another wild goose chase.

This case is frustrating. This Sheriff is odd to say the least. And to me it appears things have been mishandled.

One thing that I haven’t seen discussed is the business card from Adult Protective Services tucked in NG’s front door. That was there on the first day reporters showed up after her disappearance.

Why would that be there? Someone from APS doesn’t just drop off a card in someone’s door for no reason. Was a case filed? A complaint called in? This needs to be investigated further.

I would like to also ask how often the stalker kidnaps or even harms a family member to get attention. Are there any examples that we can go off of? Don't the obsessed usually go directly for the person they are obsessed with? And, you are correct, there usually is a ton of attempts to get they're attention before they do something like this. I would assume that the FBI and criminal profilers have thought of this already, I certainly hope so anyways.

Yep. In many cases they may have an advantage by the unofficial suspect moving freely. Also, you cant really name someone a person of interest or suspect unless you are prepared to bring charges. As everyone knows with double jeopardy you cant try someone twice for same crime. Its imperto have all ducks in a row before you start naming names. Also, watching how they actually when pressure is applied. Do they flee the area? I think everything is a complex strategy in a complicated game in the time between having a really solid lead, but waiting on evidence. They'd really like to find her or a body to have a solid case. I think they already have the person in mind.
Double jeopardy comes into play once a jury is seated for a case a plea deal has been reached etc.

I wonder what Nancy was doing on January 11th. I don’t see any posts on her Facebook until January 13th.
January 11th was as Sunday night

Weather: Jan 11- 45 degrees, 8 mph winds
Moon- waning crescent

Jan 31- Saturday night to Sunday morning
Moon- waxing gibbous

Both visits are weekends. Why? Does perp work during the week or have kids during week?
Previously observed fewer people were around on the weekends like housekeepers, grounds keepers, caregivers. I really believe that the person or persons studied Nancy Guthries' routines before the assault.

I wonder the protocol to utilize genealogical dna from ancestry, 23andMe, etc?!
Seems like it would be an insane waste of time and resources to bother with genealogical testing on a similar looking glove, found 2 miles from the crime scene with no other indication that the glove is in fact from the crime.
