Arizona couple found blood-spotted glove, rock with blood on it in desert mile from Nancy Guthrie’s home: report

MOO Gosh, as with most things in this case my mind goes in two different directions regarding this info. On the one hand, I don’t know whether these gloves are the same kind as the one they say matched the kind the perp was wearing or the others they found that were different. And there seems to be an abundance of gloves found in the area so it’s a stretch for me to think these were discarded by the perp(s). And even if blood on them doesn’t seem that suspicious to me - could be someone had a flat and wore them to change a tire and injured their own hand while doing so and then peeled them off and left them there. On the other hand, whether they are determined to match the gloves shown on the video or not, some have suggested the perp wore 2 pair of gloves - if so how do we know whether the inside pair was the same as the ones shown? And if that is blood on them, could it be NG’s? But even if it’s not, it could still be that they belonged to the perp(s) and the blood could be from an injury they may have sustained at some point after the video. And what are the odds that gloves with blood on them would be found within a mile of NG’s after she was taken? And if they are connected why were they discarded there? I don’t subscribe to the theory that the perp removed their glove(s) while driving down the road and tossed them out the window. I think a grid search should be made in the area to rule out the possibility that the perp may have stopped along the roadside for some reason - perhaps met up with someone there and transferred NG to a different vehicle and maybe more evidence can be found in the immediate area. I don’t like thinking of this possibility but perhaps NG’s body was removed from the vehicle and discarded or perhaps hastily buried in that area.

IMHO I can see these gloves having absolutely nothing to do with this case and I can see them leading to some answers or possibly the perps or possibly NG. I hope LE is looking into all possibilities and will be watching to see if any info is released on what they deteremine.

3 weeks in and LE appear to be no nearer to finding NG or who took her, there has been very little actual factual evidence released, all we know is a masked intruder is seen on a camera at her front door, he is dressed in a way to conceal his identity, at some point another camera or sensor is triggered, we do not know whether it is inside or outside, or where it is situated on her property, we do not know which door he went in, or how he got in, we do know at some point NG was moved away from her phone so that her pacemaker was not sending signals to the monitor, we do know according to LE the scene caused enough concern that it was considered a crime scene and homicide was called in, at some point NG was outside her front door on her porch bleeding, at some point she moved/was moved down her front path to the steps where the black railing is, the blood does not continue to the road, the trail stops halfway down front path from what I see, there had to have been some type of vehicle to transport her away, we have zero information about vehicle, there is DNA from somebody unknown to NG in the home, how important/relevant that is we do not know until LE tell us,

I only hope LE have more evidence than they have released,
Thank you! I ask because I found it interesting that NG's property taxes for the second half of the year are past due - as of November 2025. The property says it is in the name of NG (Revocable) Trust.

This is public information that can be found on the Pima County Treasurer's Office.

It probably has nothing to do with the case, but why would it be left in arrears?

Plenty homeowners pay late. I don't see how this would be connected.

Not satisfied by the Sheriff’s explanation of the elder abuse business card. I think that’s a clear investigative angle. Nancy appears to be alone and unprotected in that secluded home. I don’t buy it.
In my opinion it seems that you have a personal vendetta with the sheriff, and we get that because you repeatedly post negative views. No certain that anything will change until election time. JMO

Is this a cold case?
Definitely not. The Sheriff and FBI certainly have lots of information that we are not privy to. My opinion only.

Not every LE is an experienced public relations speaker/communicator, and this area is not used to dealing with this type of horrid crime, as NY would be. It's easy to criticize, and I have done some as well, but most of us are not there, and not experts in how LE is dealing with all this, including all the national/international attention. Local LE are also residents of this seemingly quite area, and are probably overwhelmed themselves, while trying to focus on getting the job done.
While the public is hungry for information, the Press can be too aggressive, and LE needs the space and time to do their job, without reporting to the public at large. I'm sure, I hope they have lots of information and are working hard. For me, while I want to know, I live in PA and do not have the need, or right to know what any LE agencies have. Send strength and positive Karma to everyone involved. Just MOO.

I think we all need to remember that 'law enforcement' will be way ahead of where we think they are. They won't be giving a 'running commentary', they won't want to warn the 'individual'.

LE has stated this is not a burglary gone wrong. It's amazing to me that people accept what LE has said and links are posted for sources but when they say something that goes against someone's personal narrative, what LE has said has no merit. Not personal to you bigcityaccountant AT ALL, I like your posts but LE (NANOS) said it was a targeted kidnapping. NOT a burglary gone wrong. This came out this week. We have no idea if she even had a safe. Maybe she fell and fainted. Maybe the perp stopped long enough to make a ham sandwich for the road! He may have knocked her out, drugged her, then tied her up and while disabled, taken her away in a space ship. WE KNOW NOTHING, really! We can go by what has been stated and even that may be said by LE in an effort to keep the perp confused. It's all about motive, imo. MOO

EDITED TO ADD THE LINK ABOUT THE BURGLARY GONE WRONG
I never thought this was a burglary gone wrong because moving the body too far to be found made no sense to me. Unfortunately, LE has contradicted themselves so often on this case that I find it difficult to say "aha, I knew it!" when they do occasionally say something that supports any view that makes sense to me.

A targeted kidnapping does make the most sense, because of SG's videos speaking directly to the kidnapper. Unless the motive was as simple as cashing in on SG's heavy bank account, it may turn out that the motive will be a plot twist only a few of us will see coming.

In some cases, yes.
Let's hope this is one of them.

Should imagine U.S mirror is as trashy as the U.k one but still I haven't heard this one especially the reason behind the Bitcoin ransom. Nancy Guthrie search receives huge update as blood stained item found
According to reports, the items were uncovered in the desert approximately a mile from Nancy Guthrie's home, just days after she was reported missing. The couple, who wished to remain anonymous, came across the suspicious black gloves lying on the ground 10 feet apart off Campbell Avenue in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson on February 11, KVOA reported on Friday.

Would love for this to be a huge breakthrough!

I just wonder how these items were missed in the prior searches?

I was reading an off-site article about the sheriff shutting down the investigation and stating that only he and two of his senior people will make decisions on this case.

I think that same information has been posted here.

What is problematic if I am reading it correctly, is the two people he is referring to are command staff and not investigators or detectives.

Chief Jesus Lopez leads the Administration Bureau of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, and Captain Juan Carlos Navarro oversees the Criminal Investigation Division.

Not to criticize their qualifications but these roles are administrative rather than investigative.

Of course, MOO

That's worrisome as it indicates that they've reached the end point of their own investigation. MOO
