I think it feels slow because there's an urgency to find NG because of her age and need for meds. In reality, it's been three weeks. I've followed quite a few cases here on WS and very few of them have been solved in three weeks. What I'm seeing here is an expectation that she (and the perp(s)) should have been found days ago. It took nine months for Elizabeth Smart to be found. But we don't know if NG can live nine months without her meds. MOO

I liked your sock analogy of the DNA samples because it explained what I was missing but it also realistically described how tedious the work can be. We can't expedite everything. But I hope they have much more going on.

I just have a hard time believing LE left all the Lantana plant on the front porch floor. Lantana has a very pungent smell. Find a Lantana (weed) and break the leaf. You will know, what I mean. If there was a chance of a dropped glove, a K9 would have picked up on it. I have no doubt.

I don't think this was that preventable. It could happen to anyone, but luckily it's incredibly rare.
I agree with you though in thinking this was probably sexually motivated.

More to the point-the animal’s bark in a defensive/attack mode is incredibly intimidating. When our family lived in a 15 house block just outside North Philly with our overly large and aggressive Shepherd-14 of the houses were burglarized in 10 years. Ours was not. Dealing with aggressive and powerful dogs is not easy-or necessary... the animal that has bonded with their owner will fight you to the last beat of their heart. They will bleed, and in all probability, so will you.

Pre-incident surveillance that uncovers a guardian dog is a strong reason to do more victim selection.

I used the dog as an example. As another, I’m reminded of a fatal shooting in Nashville years ago. Neighbors called 911 on hearing the rounds.
On arrival they found a well known teen hoodlum DRT. ( Dead Right There.)

They spoke to the old gentleman still sitting on his porch )who willingly surrendered his ancient revolver). He explained the guy tried to rob him. Realizing the fellow looked ancient the lady cop asked him “how old are you sir?” The old gent laughed and said “I’m the oldest man in Nashville …just turned 104.”

So many things would have prevented this.

The point is, he knew he would take her through the front door before it actually happened. She was either deceased, unconscious inside or someone was watching her, keeping her form making any undesirable moves.

Yes, I agree he knew he would take her through the front and if he or another perp had the car there it makes sense. We're just dealing with a lot of "ifs".

Deputies turned up at the property, told them to leave and possibly trespassing them now...

Aren't these the Madres de Sonora who were searching on the property on Thursday or Friday of this week? And the media reported that they had been hired by the family? So were they not engaged by the family previously?

I understand not searching on private property but I find the sheriff's office stance toward official search parties pretty baffling. There are a lot of areas that could be searched and I don't see a downside at all.

Forced entry through back of gathers house does make send. What makes no sense is fiddling with the bell cam at all. When did Lantana man access the front porch? After forced entry trough the back? Then why not enter and remove cam reaching from inside. If he entered prior to force entry, why not even try checking whether the front door was unlocked. Why being exposed to the bell cam at all? It all seem backwards to me..

I feel like he might've ensured the external situation was set up to his liking before entering the house and abducting Nancy. Since he hadn't been inside yet, he comes around from the side of the house.

Check out the flashes/reflection on his right wrist right at the start of the video (00:01, while his head's still down) and after grabbing the lantana (00:28). He seems to be sneakily checking a device on his wrist before the entry and reentry of the porch.

I'm wondering if he wasn't wearing a deauth watch.

This device can disable WiFi and jam WiFi cameras. He checks it each time to make sure it's still jamming before approaching the porch.

Maybe he got a cheap model that doesn't jam 5 Ghz, which the Nest Doorbell can utilize. Or maybe he did jam the camera, but at some point the jamming stopped, the Nest reconnected to the WiFi, and uploaded the video we see to the Nest servers.

That's why he's not being as fastidious with hiding his face as you might expect considering the gravity of the crime.

Dressed like the perp is dressed? No, I wouldnt open the door even if it sounded like my best friend. The incident I told you all about with our alarm going off and we all slept through it had an interesting ending. Maybe worth posting. The police officer looked around. Saw our carriage doors in the basement had blown open from the wind and that triggered the alarm. As he was leaving..all of us in robes and sweats, he said to my husband UH, can i see some Identification? We all thought that was one smart Policemen. My point is, no one would open the door to that perp in the day or night and even an appropriately dressed "resident" at 3am is still a suspect and a potential hostage taker. NO ONE is above suspicion no matter who they might sound like. Dressed like the perp?!?!? It's a nightmare outfit designed to intimidate. JMO MOO

Not sure. This case is interesting because in many ways there has been an unlimited budget for apprehension based on all the media coverage, expert analysis, and quick government organizations. The family is wealthy and can afford to plan and have searchers continue to look for NG.

This case makes no sense at all.

I have said for awhile, this case reminds me so much of the Missy Beavers case. They found her, just not the killer.

So I’ve been seeing “BLM” a thousand times here. I figured out that it meant “Bureau of Land Management” and looked up my city and state, since I’ve never heard of it.

I expected it not to be part of NYC, but apparently there is 0% BLM in all of New York State.

That surprises me, as upstate has many rural areas.

Reading about it at the government site above has clarified for me why so many are discussing how BLM fits into Nancy’s situation, regarding where she may be found or not.

Learned something today.
