I noticed on GMA this morning that the ABC reporter that has been in Tucson has now left and is back in NY. I wonder how many other reporters will be leaving now.

What did you find strange?
Mostly that he pulled himself over and started to confront police which probably escalated the drama. I thought it was paranoid or guilty seeming. I'm not saying he's guilty just think that was weird.

That is somewhat strange, true.

It's definitely interesting if nothing else! I saw an interview with CP on Entertainment Tonight where he says exactly this. It was on Facebook and I wasn't sure if that's a valid source to link here but it's there if anyone wants to watch it.

I would say they might still be interested in his phone? Not sure if that's just a procedural issue. Without knowing the evidence used to attain the warrant it's too difficult to judge. I've heard several reasons suggested but nothing clear.

The searchers found a backpack on the side of a road near her Tucson home. A Pima County sheriff’s deputy collected it as the search for Nancy entered its fourth week.

They got the backpack about two miles away from where Nancy was last seen.

Nearby, all those volunteers also found clothing and a black glove inside a drainage pipe.

All the items were then carefully handed to authorities as the group, called Searching Mothers of Sonora, is made up of women from Mexico who have lost loved ones to violence.

Saying this could have been prevented if NG had a guard dog, or a gun, or a robust and monitored security system, or a 24/7 armed security person, a moat and barbed wire with a fire breathing guard dragon, a husband or anything else that one thinks might have been helpful to ward off an attacker or otherwise deter an attack simply reads as victim blaming for having not done enough to prevent her own attack and disappearance. Whatever women do is never enough it seems, they always could have done more or done some thing better. If NG was a male I doubt this would keep coming up. MOO.
Beautifully said.

How much do women have to do before they're living in their own prison?!

So sad we have to do this.

I wonder why someone would want to own desert land? Not my idea of a good investment.

Grazing.

A landowner using the land for their own hoof stock or for leases to other ranchers.

Here's some history of gazing back to when it was more lucrative but unfettered destroying the native plants and terrain.

* Note, from the link, to those who are inspired to visit Saguaro National Park to see the beautiful desert environment and the success of the plant recovery:

Danger

  • Signal Hill Trail closure due to aggressive bees
Alert 1, Severity danger, Signal Hill Trail closure due to aggressive bees

The Signal Hill trail leading up the hill, as well as the area at the top, are currently closed due to a large presence of aggressive bees. For the safety of all visitors, this area will be temporarily unavailable for the time being. The lower trails around the hill, and the picnic grounds, are still open for use. Thank you for your patience.

So if anyone was wondering why it might not be a good idea to go poking around in the remote desert areas on foot this is why the drones and helicopters make sense, imo.

all imo

I thought it was strange that the attorney said his client pulled over to confront le in an unmarked car. Unless that's normal and more related to current politics, I think it's suspicious. I wish the attorney had clarified. It struck me as paranoid.
I didn’t catch that it was an unmarked car so thanks for pointing that out. I might have found it more strange if it had been a marked car and a driver stopped to confront them knowing they were LE. But it is not unheard of for a driver to notice someone following and stop to confront them to see what’s going on - it’s certainly not something I would do or recommend - but it happens more than you might think.

There is a reference to the backpack that was found here:

THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THE LINK!!🔗 🙏

@imstilla.grandma

🌟Investigators said the backpack is not a viable lead — it appears to have been outside for much longer than 3 weeks and contained a minor's ID.

If it was a S*x assault (I hope it wasn’t), removing her body and hiding it well, would decrease the chance of finding the perp’s DNA on

If it's someone local, they could've walked the neighborhood daily, waiving to neighbors with a smile as they scan for camera locations. Dusk would be a great time to check lighting, too. It'd be much easier to plan a route by scanning on foot rather than creeping around in a car, which is sus. Just an idea.
Does Nancy usually stay overnight at her daughter’s house on game night? Was this a one off that she was even home. Maybe you’re right and he’s done this before? Familiar with the area. She recognized him. Also backpacks in the backpack to carry stuff.

So just to be clear, Investigators do NOT see the backpack that volunteers found as a viable lead:

I agree. 20 / 30s . He was very calm. He was either experienced, or in a familiar place (contractor? )
I also lean towards that possibility. Either a contractor, or somebody connected to a contractor acting on: "Guess what about one of the houses I clean...." type information.

Going into numbers and going back as far as say five years, I wonder how many contractors have been in the house? One member stated that the house is older. My guess is that it is also very well maintained with proactive repairs and plenty of preventive maintenance. With fuzzy numbers, maybe....

-Cleaners: 2 standard as the home is large. Allowing for substitutes, days off, employee turn over and one contractor turn over say.... 10.

- Possible home health care: 1 standard. Allowing for the above, say... 5?

- Plumbers, AC: Older houses can have mainline problems etc. AC is a must in AZ. Higher wage with less turn over. Maybe 8 total over five years allowing for employee turn over and the presence of assistants / trainees?

- Yard guys and pool guys. Pool guys usually work alone, yard guys may have a crew just for increased efficiency, could well have more turn over. Say.... accounting for the all the above, plus a small crew and route changes for yard guys.... maybe 10 total?

- Carpenters, roofers, tech installers, appliance guys, electricians, painters: Not needed as much. Some will be one timers- but still were there: 12 in total- especially if they had a roofing crew?

The reason I clarified about the backpack that volunteers found as not being a viable lead, is because there are many MSN headlines about it this morning, giving the false impression that it was a major find and a kind of break in the case, which is false.

according to Matt Finn on twitter Sheriffs office did not tell searchers they needed a permit, they do not issue permits for searching, they said they told them they would need permission to go on private property only, more wild rumor and speculation, (and off topic I do smile everytime autocorrect takes out my English extra u in words such as rumour
