Okay so within bounds it seems. Now if we could just determine whether he has a 'one-bowleg' gait that favors his right side. :D
LD seems about right for Lantana guy, who would be the inside man?
Did LD have an alibi? He was “let go” after interviewing, but faced other unrelated charges.

What? LE has already said it's from the same night didn't they? If this is true it might be why LE was asking neighbors for camera video from the whole month of Jan. Since the source is not named tho imma wait until LE confirms to believe it. Thanks for posting!

If true, this leaves little doubt that Nancy was in fact the intended victim and that it wasn't a 'wrong house' type of scenario. As such, we can throw the 'gem show neighbor' theory out.

This also confirms that the house was cased at least sometime in advance, so likely not some druggie or impulsive type looking for a quick fix. Rather, it gives credence to the idea of careful planning, which makes a stronger case for kidnapping for ransom or kidnapping for revenge (i.e. an aggrieved fan of some sort).

It may even mean he knew about the camera ahead of time but thought a Wifi jammer or something disabled it.

This also means that the appearance by him with gear on isn't necessarily after the crime had already been committed.

This also means that he could've committed the kidnapping alone and wasn't necessarily opening the door after the fact. (Although still some logistical and potential strength hurdles to overcome if solo).

I'm sure there are lots of other things it means once we parse it out, but still significant news is true.

If the ABC report that the other image without backpack is from an earlier date, then he could've in theory done this alone.

This could have happened for any number of reasons in my opinion. Sometimes I turn our notifications off because we have a flag that's visible in the shot, and when it's really windy the camera sometimes thinks it's a person.

Perhaps she had notifications on, but was busy and didn't look to see what the notification was. It sounds like since she didn't have a subscription, it may have recorded over the activity if a significant amount of time had passed.

she d id not have an active subscription. You need that to get notifications etc.

Yes if it's true it helps with a lot of things. If true though I don't understand why he would let himself be seen by the Nest camera and then when he came back seem to not be prepared to deal with it.

Here’s a nice scenario: it’s a psycho who kidnapped her because he wants her as his mother since he saw her on tv and thought she was a good mom. So he’s taking very good care of her as his mother while she devises a way to get him comfortable so she can escape. The “ransom” notes are just a-holes trying to make easy money.

Am gonna give you a 'like' Shanz because, however wild that sounds, it would undoubtedly be best case scenario of any theory out there!

I apologize for my post. I think I got excited and as long as I've been here at WS I do know better. I've never been in T/O in the 17 years I have been here.

I keep thinking about the photo someone posted of the perps glove that possibly depicted a ring. I think it was the persons right hand but I could be mistaken.

Anyway, married people wear wedding ring on the left hand. So what type of ring would a man wear on his right hand? A collegiate ring? Some type of ring to symbolize a relationship? A promise ring? An antique family ring?

Just random thinking here.
On a TV Podcast this was brought up, and they spoke about this, saying it looks like a pinky ring is possibly under the glove, but no evidence. I thought good observation.

This makes sense why they asked for video footage from Jan. 11th from neighbors. But why just now is this coming out...another leak?

I have a question for the sleuthers. Let’s just pretend for a moment that there is NO ransom ( faux or real)

If we look at this from the angle that there is nothing else known other than NG last seen approximate timeline, potential POIs raids , recovered Nest doorbell video, and the immediate family being publicly cleared …. What do you see, believe, or feel? Take away motive… what’s the intent?
To cause pain, to Nancy and her lived ones. iMO

In that image without the backpack, it almost looks like he’s looking at the camera, are we thinking this could have been a test run? He could have been watching Nancy during the day to see if there was any sign she’d noticed him on her cameras and called the police? Or he could have been testing a signal jammer the night before?

The masked man who is suspected of the abduction of Nancy Guthrie appears to have been at her front door earlier than Feb. 1, the night police believe she was kidnapped, sources familiar with the investigation told ABC News.

The image the FBI released of the suspect at her front door, without a backpack, was captured by her Nest doorbell camera on a day before the suspected abduction, the sources said.

This is absolutely horrifying and so unsettling to watch. It makes me wonder~ what’s the point of having a security camera if no one is actively monitoring it? I understand it was reportedly installed to observe wildlife, but still… how long had this man been stalking her? The thought is deeply disturbing.

This clears my mind concerning an accomplice. There wasn't one. MOO.

IMO LD's eyes are not far enough apart to be under that mask...especially noticeable in the mugshot pic accompanying his lawyer's statement.

I wonder if Nancy was home that night. If so, he was casing the joint. If not, not as well planned but definitely some premeditation and stalking involved to know when eventually she was home.

If true, this kinda rules out burglary gone wrong for me. I don’t see someone organized enough to conduct surveillance, etc breaking into NG’s house when there’s a 99% chance she’d be there.

Hi contemplated whether the mouth was real, including the facial hair. To me his head is misshapen and I think that's also the mask.
I thought the same thing at first, but the head gear and body look like there are multiple layers of clothing. My first thought was a female, as the eyebrows look thin, and the eyes look feminine to me, also thought the mustache could have been drawn on, and in one picture the 'teeth' look fake, but the professionals examining everything think it's a man. So confusing.

You need a subscription just to *receive* notifications? Yikes.

Edited to add that I recognize that NG didn't have an active Nest subscription, but I didn't realize that would preclude her from receiving notifications on a live basis. I just thought it meant she couldn't review footage.

Has everybody written off both Swat raids as two mistaken raids? Two mistakes in a case that the world is watching unfold? Not likely
Absolutely not. They know 👍
