It's such a weird thing. He's there previously, so he should know about the camera. But when he returns he doesn't have a plan for it.
Or did he?

We only have that one picture on No Bookbag Guy, right? I wonder which camera it came from. You can’t really be sure it’s the front door cam from the background.

Wow. This really opens up a lot.

I hope this wasn’t something that really really shouldn’t have been leaked. However, BE reporting and confirming makes me feel better. He’s so cautious.

MOO
Definitely looks like the front door to me.

Is it possible he didn't see the camera? We can see from the background it's nearly pitch black, no moon illumination and no street lights. We only see it looking bright due to the "night vision" through the camera footage. From this single still frame he doesn't have any external light source (flashlight). Hard to tell exactly what he did imo.

Changed the color saturation again. Is this a persons head or my eyes playing tricks ?

Surely if the distance from cam lens to subject is not known then height comparison, at this point, is not science.

  • #38,005
There is a clear height discrepancy that I didn't notice before until someone put the pictures side by side.

The man/woman in the earlier picture is clearly shorter and a little more plump. Their feet size looks smaller too.

That person is right up next to the one step that goes up into the nook. Now if the height discrepancy can be explained away by angle and movement of say the certain plants on the right then I digress.
I disagree, it's all perspective. The image with no backpack is several feet further away and step down. It's also more pixelated due to how dark it was making details harder to pick out. Less light hitting shoes is gonna make them look smaller imo. Both figures have the same stocky build.

Maybe someone in that fairly immediate area to be there on two different times. I think it was said the night before but am not positive of that date.
Why can't it be late night of Jan 31, and a few hours later of Feb 1? Confused, here. jmo

  • #38,007
I don't think this footage is from Jan 11th as everyone is suggesting. I think Jan 11th became a date of interest because there was a reported burglary in the area on that date. Based on this chart, Jan 11th would've been brighter in the footage (albeit could've been a moment of cloud coverage).
Therefore, I'm leaning towards that week of dark conditions between 1-17 and 1-28. Seems more appropriate to case a place a week/ couple of days prior versus nearly a whole month before (Jan 11) because so much could change between then and now.

JMO
Absolutely. And good point about momentary cloud cover. The small spreadsheet is an overall look, not an hour by hour look, which might be more useful. Then again, absent of other clues, we might not be able to suss out a specific date anyway, just rule some out.

"NEW TONIGHT: Sheriff Nanos tells Fox News this evening that the information and reporting out there that says the original Guthrie Nest camera video depicts the same person on a different day did not come from him or the FBI.

"The info that it occurred on a different day did not come from the FBI or PCSD," Nanos tells Fox.

As we know, sources from inside either agency may be sharing different information with the media. Above is what the Sheriff officially says on the matter and notably this time he mentions or speaks on behalf the FBI too."
Man, this sheriff really annoys me. How does he know that it did not come from an FBI source working on the case back at Quantico or something? How does he know if a case agent in the FBI is talking to ABC news? All he can say is that this was not an official press release/statement from his department or the FBI.

I was just watching ABC Nightly News and they said the FBI confirmed that one of the pictures of the suspect-- the one where he isn't wearing the backpack-- was from a different night than the one where she was abducted. Wow. To me, this speaks to a targeted and planned abduction-- not wrong house or burglary gone wrong.

Masked suspect in Nancy Guthrie abduction appeared to visit her house before kidnapping: Sources
This to me is completely unacceptable as far as, was anyone watching her cameras? Why would she have cameras and NOT have them connected to the service? We have cameras and we will look to see every day what showed up , animal or delivery etc. WAY TOO MANY homes in that Neighborhood have had people on their porches in the MIDDLE of the night! I’d move out of that neighborhood if I lived there! This is nutts!

LD is a guy who was detained, questioned and released In relation to the case . His Attorney states he had no involvement .
Of course he atty says that, whet they are paid for. LD's mother has a well off position. He is already up for a court date for another drug related activity. IMO

Despite the poorly worn weapon, his crime costume is devoid of any real and imitation SWAT / military / 'Mec' components. If he is a teenager, he does not appear to be a Call of Duty type gamer looking for thrills.
Got that right;) Doesn't look like a teen to me, but no clue.

I read in one article it was the night before but I do not know for sure if that is correct.
Well, if it was after midnight on that day, could no backpack person have been there early early Sunday morning, let’s say 3 am? We don’t know when the “kidnaping” started-if it was before midnight, that could be same day. The video could then be considered the next day.

That is a good point, could be.

💯! What I want to know is THEN WHO did this photo come from? What the heck is going on here

Agree completely, Eye Candy, Good observation on your part:

Limb length difference?
Soccer injury to the knee?
Shin splints?
Untreated Scoliosis?
One weak ankle, possibly injured from football or soccer?

Something is going on with that leg. Could be congenital. Could be a very recent injury. Could be an injury from childhood and affected his back, rib cage and gait. (He might be holding one shoulder awkwardly too?)

Maybe, he committed another crime recently, and then he had to jump out of a second story window quickly to escape LE, thereby busting his ankle........

Any thoughts from other folks here w/ physical therapy training, or the like?

(MOO)
Not sure if these observations are coming from the video only, if so I have thought he may have injured himself walking around in the dark or breaking the motion lights. But if you see these injuries in the still pic an injury the night of the abduction does not fit.

You need a subscription just to *receive* notifications? Yikes.

Edited to add that I recognize that NG didn't have an active Nest subscription, but I didn't realize that would preclude her from receiving notifications on a live basis. I just thought it meant she couldn't review footage.
With my nest a basic subscription is free. You.just sign up with an email address. You get motion sound and person notificatuons as well as still pictures to go along with that
Now if you want a premium.subscription you pay extra for videos and more detailed descriptions like a package was delivered, a dog barked, a car passed by, a person is at the door wearing a mask and a backpack etc. You can use the nest app or google home.

He is well 'disguised' hence perhaps no real concern about the camera, but, also in no hurry if thinking an alarm was pushed and LE on the way. NG already subdued inside by another IMO
