I couldn't live in that area being elderly because of the dark night laws. I like my street lights. Perp being free would make it even worse for me.
It is not either-or, though. Streetlights and outdoor light fixtures can be dark sky-compliant. Dark sky just means the light is directed down rather than in all directions. Outdoor fixtures can be both dark sky and motion-activated, providing security without leaving the lights on all night.

I understand why you feel that way. I enjoy living in an area without streetlights. It took a while to feel comfortable, but I've been here for decades. The darkness feels protective to me. If you aren't used to it, it can be unnerving.

The open, rolling desert terrain of NG's neighborhood appeals to me. The absence of streetlights must make for astounding views of the night sky. 🌠 Because I'm in the woods, my view of the night sky is straight up only.

@OldCop Why would prosecutors and Estate Attorneys be inspecting Nancy Guthrie’s House?
MOO It has been reported that authorities are planning to release Nancy Guthrie’s home back to her family.
The prosecutors want a final walk through to observe the interior in the state it was in when the crime occurred to make sure it has been fully documented. This documentation will be utilized in any future court proceedings.
THE Guthrie family has acknowledged, through Savannah’s last video, that Nancy Guthrie may be deceased. If, by any chance she is recovered alive, it is highly unlikely that she would ever return to live in her home of 50 years. I also doubt a family member would ever want to live in or keep the house where such a horrible crime had occurred. Whether they decide to keep it vacant, tear it down, or sell it, the family has to protect Nancy’s personal property, real estate, and any other assets.
The Estate Attorneys would likely be employed handle this. They would handle wills, trusts, taxes, etc as relates to Nancy’s estate and future probate.

I hadn't considered them going back there, more of trying to do something productive when they feel so helpless. I can't imagine going back in that house but maybe you're right and it would be therapeutic for them.
Oh, I see what you meant now. That's also a likely motivation. I truly hope the family members do whatever brings them a bit of peace as they process what's happened. And that the media and content providers give them the space to do so.

I've been out most of the day and trying to follow along from my cell phone so I'm sure I've missed some important information. That said, are we sure estate attorneys were present today? Thanks in advance for the fill-in (on the estate attorneys).

No, that is speculation.

I don't understand all the talk today about "authorities preparing to release Nancy's home back to the family".

The crime scene was released by PCSD back on Feb. 2 according to many msm articles. Otherwise there would not have been all the controversy over the Amazon and pizza deliveries, the APS card, and the video of blood drops on the front porch.

I wonder who is behind the narrative that the crime scene is just now being turned over (vs. Feb 2)?

Jmo, but I think the crime scene was turned over on Feb 2, - and way too soon. My understanding is that PCSD turned the CS over within a day (some said approx. 20 hours) of when they first arrived at the scene - and before the FBI could get there.

Maybe that was PCSD's right to do, but I don't see the logic in closing the door to possible additional forensics from a federal LE organization that could possibly benefit your investigation. What harm could be done?

Again jmo, but I think that if the FBI had been given a chance to do their forensics - before the scene was contaminated - the investigation might not now be stymied by (reportedly) a mixed DNA sample that is apparently of little use.

I don't know, I'm hoping there will be something good that comes from the FBI and (apparently) several attorneys/prosecutors being out at the house today for several hours.

All jmo

Praying for the Guthrie family as they navigate next steps with waiting as they also potentially go back in her home. I remember after my mom passed, I would smell her coat and pillow because I knew that would eventually fade and be gone. Sounds strange but it's natural to want to savor those moments. I'm still holding on to the remote chance that Nancy is alive. But also understand the probability that she's not. My opinion only from life experiences.

I need to catch up, but these people dressed in suites don’t look like detectives. I’m not trying to stereotype or be disrespectful, but thoughts?
Senior FBI managers?

Wouldn't the physician who administered her pacemaker be able to monitor it still? My understanding is they have a signal until the physician turns it off, even at or following death.

If that is true, and the physician is still monitoring an active signal, and she is somewhere relatively local, then finding her is reasonable likelihood provided they keep combing the area with the signal sweepers. That is, of course, unless this perp is a pathological ghoul and removed it.

JMO.
Wouldn't the family know who the physician was that put in her pacemaker. I took my mom at 86 to have her procedure. And my brother took her for the after visit to check on things.

I'd imagine the family has the records, or her insurance company does?

Bittersweet. Going back to the house to see Mom's life as they knew it; to feel close to her, her aromas, reminiscing the earlier years but she is no longer there.

It’s going to be a whiplash of emotions. A new wave of reality of what they were hoping for is no longer possible. I can imagine that many tears will be shed.

But that won't happen until LE have her body and proof of death.

If that doesn't happen and she's never found, how long is it until she can be declared dead in absentia in Arizona?

In some countries it's 7 years. I'm assuming in the US, it varies by state.

Looks like 5 years, but there are exceptions.
In
Arizona
, a person is legally presumed dead after a continuous absence of five years.

Why would they keep it this long? Is it because it was the last vehicle that she rode in (that we know of)?
You would think that they would have thoroughly processed it by now.
That is concerning if I am being honest.
For LE to release the house before releasing the car is insane. This speaks volumes IMO.

Re: who is behind the narrative -

This is a way-out idea that occurred to me when I read the sentence I highlighted above.

SG has appeared in the last two videos without her siblings. In her last video she even stated "find a way to get in touch with me" (loosely paraphrased).

Does LE think that NG's captor is possibly so obsessed with SG that he/she might return to the scene of the crime if he/she thinks SG is in or around the property? Thereby setting a trap of sorts?

Again, this is a wild idea on my part and I do admit I watch too many strange series/movies!

Editing to add:

This is what I'm referring to from yesterday's video. It's in the text part of her post on IG

Long time lurker, first time poster(I think).

After watching the video of the gem store/show robbery that was posted here(pages ago), my bet is that the person wearing all white clothes in that video is also "Lantana Man". Same build, gait and his right hand is always in front of his hip when bending forward, both in the gem robbery as well as in the Nest video right before he bends over to pick up the Lantana.

I think that this was a burglary attempt(related to the gem show/neighbor)gone wrong, not directed at any member of the Guthrie family.

Brian Entin update-

I found the interview with Phil particularly enlightening. I, like a lot of people, didn’t think a kidnapper would be at the house for 40 minutes. But Phil said in 1988 he and his parents were held hostage for over 90 minutes and he had spent that time talking and negotiating with the perp. So I’m reconsidering now and I think it’s very possible a chunk of those 40 minutes was Nancy trying to do the same.

I also think I’m back on the train of this being someone obsessed with SG…maybe. It seems like a big coincidence if it isn’t but then again just because you’re well known doesn’t mean things can’t happen to you or your family that have nothing to do with your celebrity. Given the neighborhood though and the fact that an 84 year old woman with mobility issues obviously leads a low risk lifestyle, I’m leaning more towards this having something to do with SG
