Somebody up thread explained that there is a small hole on both the upper and lower edges of the Nest ring cam. Inserting something like a paper clip into the opening releases the ring cam from its frame. Maybe that’s what he was trying to accomplish with a stem of the plant?
This makes a lot of sense! Thanks for sharing.

Can anyone here think of another case with such a large amount for reward money where someone actually came forward? Really hoping for this to make the difference.

How can the AG car still be part of the investigation if the owner (s) of the car are not ? Can someone explain that.
Considering it’s an active investigation and there hasn’t been anyone charged yet, I’m thinking it’s helpful for LE to keep the car, if they can. The defense could argue she never went home or something happened in the car. If they keep the car as evidence and eventually make an arrest, the defense attorneys can have their own search of the vehicle that has been preserved. I’m certain the family would want that anyways, because they’re cleared and want a solid prosecution if they find the perp. JMO

There was a reward paid by National Enquirer for $100,000 for information on the killing of Bill Cosby's son, Ennis.

imo

To me Lantana Man has an "astronaut"-like way of moving, he moves like he bulked up with many layers to disguise having a slight build. At some point I'd even wondered if he was a woman. My first thought when he bent over was "back/hip problems", but I can't tell if any of this is another effort to disguise himself.

He is an enigma. Picking up the leaves to cover the camera made no sense. Nor did the heavy boxer type gloves. I almost think that he was the driver/lookout, as part of a team of two or three men. With a specific task to do, disarm the camera.

This is the first I’ve heard of boxing gloves. Weren’t they regular nitrile gloves like a doctor or dentist use? Or am I missing something?

As I said in a post earlier today....

Action > Words.

What people do is more important (usually) than what they say.
Exactly. Just because the family has been "cleared" by LE, that does not stop them from withdrawing that statement and arresting one of them or arresting LD. Not saying even for a second that I think any of these people are involved. MOO.

Off the top of my head, a couple of possible explanations would be:

-AG or husband owed someone money, and this person slipped into the car one night when AG got home and threatened AG. LE wonder if this event is related to NG being taken.
-A threatening note was previously found in the car, they dismissed it until NG is taken. LE wonder if this event is related to NG being taken.
- Car was recently broken into under suspicious circumstances. LE wonder if this event is related to NG being taken.
-AG notices items in the car that don’t belong there. LE wonder if this event is related to NG being taken.

All MOO. I’m sure there are a bunch more.

Great idea to rotate the image! Just that one change of perspective is really helpful.

Do you think the patterns shown here are partial shoeprints? If so, would that mean the suspect might have been on the left side?
I do think that’s possible. Those bloodstains you pointed out seem to be to too linear to be a blood drop or spatter.

One thing I thought strange is that one can walk into Mexico with no documentation or questions asked.

I admit ignorance of such things, but his experience was so different from that of a friend who was turned away at the Canadian border because they did a check on him and found a DUI two years before.

The lack of questioning would certainly make Mexico a convenient “safe space” for the offender(s).
I can confirm that it is definitely allowed to walk across the border without a passport. My mom lives in the border city, Yuma AZ, and she walked over to Mexico last October without a passport to get dental work done.

How many children are kidnapped and just killed?
I've heard the prevailing theory behind these resultant deaths is that the kidnappers didn't realize until actually taking someone, just how difficult it would be to keep a live sentient person restrained, for any length of time in secret without arousing suspicion.

The kidnappers kill them either accidentally through mishandling, or in raw panic not knowing what to do with the live (for want of a better word) burden they took the responsibility for.

I've posted this earlier in the thread. I don't believe he used the lantana to cover the camera. My evidence for this is that part of the plant was stuck in the mounting bracket on her door. He also looked around the ground before reaching for the lantana. It wasn't his first choice. I believe he used the stems of the lantana to shove into the release hole of the google nest camera to remove it from the bracket. By actively shoving the plant vertically into the camera to dismount it- it would have easily left broken off leaves in behind the bracket as we see in some of the photos from media.

Believe they also still have NG's car, too. Makes sense to me to keep the cars as evidence for when the suspects are arrested and the case goes to trial.

No one should be cleared in an investigation until someone is arrested. IMO, there was pressure to clear the family due to the media attention.

Savannah keeps emphasizing that you can submit tips + get the award anonymously. I hope someone takes that opportunity. $1m that you can receive while keeping your identity discreet. Someone must know who Lantana Guy is. Protecting him is surely not worth foregoing a million dollars and the chance to get justice for Nancy.

Her new Instagram story today saying tips can be anonymous, reward can be paid anonymously/in cash. I know it's been shared, but still very interesting.
It's the most powerful thing she can do to find out what happened. Life-changing secret money. That's enough money to turn someone in and get on a plane to the Bahamas forever.

Sometimes I think every aspect of his appearance and actions were contrived to not look like his own - resulting in a confused jumbled looking avatar of a person, unnatural but effectively disguised.

Agreed. Sounds very well thought out. This was not a random situation in my opinion. Just finished watching dateline and Lester Holt mentioned Nancy. Ugh just awful

LE can tell the public pretty much anything they want to, as well as clear someone and then turn around and arrest them during the course of an investigation. I could list the tactics and reasons for it but it would be a very long list.

I agree, that there are many layers of clothing, for sure.
