My gut is that the perpetrators are known to us already. That's it's a hired hit of sorts. I don't think, as is being discussed on this board now, that we have any idea who is really cleared or not.

Those first few days. The volleys back and forth between NG and AG houses. I'm not sure how to say it - it's like they were hunting for some thing or things that were right there but they couldn't find it. Like something was extremely well hidden. I was half-wondering if there was a secret space somewhere.

I have wondered if the gait of the way porch man walks, with, his feet turned out, which certainly could be normal for many, is done intentionally to disguise himself, and all part of an act.

I've heard some former behavior analysts and investigators say similarly on some of the talking head shows. If true, that'd suggest we're not dealing with any small time hometown pusher here.

And if someone doesn't claim the million and sell him out, I have a feeling we're not dealing with one anyway.

LE can tell the public pretty much anything they want to, as well as clear someone and then turn around and arrest them during the course of an investigation. I could list the tactics and reasons for it but it would be a very long list.

That’s not normally a tactic i’ve seen in cases.

Usually when investigators clear someone it’s bc they have no current evidence that they are involved and the person has a pretty solid alibi.

When they do arrest a person that’s been cleared previously we usually find out it’s because new evidence came to light and it wasn’t some out right ruse. imo

Somebody up thread explained that there is a small hole on both the upper and lower edges of the Nest ring cam. Inserting something like a paper clip into the opening releases the ring cam from its frame. Maybe that’s what he was trying to accomplish with a stem of the plant?

A soft plant like that is not going to be usable as a thin tool to remove the camera. Additionally he has a bundle in his hands that he bends and then we see him place it over the camera, not a single twig to use that way. These doorbell cameras are primarily plastic. A firm elbow could knock it loose.

1) telling the world that Nancy needed medications to live more than 24 hours
2) telling the world that Nancy had a synced pacemaker
3) not taking the ransom demand seriously

I truly believe that if this was a kidnapping and ransom demand - and it appears the FBI thinks that is what it was - that publicly broadcasting the first two made Nancy more of an escalating liability than a negotiable asset, and not taking the ransom demand seriously costed them valuable time in securing her return.

I think the problem is you have different view points from the people working this investigation.

Some information is coming from the Local Sheriffs office via a source to the media.

Other information is coming from FBI via a source to the media.

Each agency sees things thru a different lens IMO and the reporting has reflected that.

I think each agency has “leaked” details to turn up the heat on potential suspects. Banfield named a suspect, and then Sheriff denied it, but then that person’s vehicle was impounded. Sadly, I don’t think Mrs. G. is still with us. Authorities don’t have a body. Difficult to prove a case with no body. Just my opinion. They must have video of her leaving the house…so either they know and are putting a case together or they have no clue at all.

Who kidnaps an 84-year-old? The logistics alone are cumbersome unless they planned to knock her out and carry her. You need more people for transport. Greater visibility unless she was incapacitated and hidden in a vehicle in the garage and then moved—but wouldn’t there be footage of that?

For example, LE asked for neighbors to share any home security camera footage that took place on January 11th, NG was abducted in the early hours of February 1st and demanding the ransom before 5 on February 9th was one of the deadlines given for the ransom. I wonder if there is something about Sunday, in particular, and maybe Saturday nights or evenings that makes the more perp more available or accessible in the committing of this crime as compared to other days of the week. For example, does he work a job that requires to travel and reside in another city but he is regularly able to return to or spend Sunday back in Tucson? Does he work outside the city limits, like in a mountainous or desert area and usually spends all day there or camp there on work days or non-Sundays and Mondays? Does he have a kid or family and maintains a stricter schedule or pattern he doesn’t want to deviate, and thus draw attention from? Does he work on Saturdays? If hypothetically his ransom note implied he was going to return NG on Thursday or Monday after receiving what, if anything, could LE maybe infer about the regular patterns, work schedules or responsibilities of his everyday life or type of field he might work in?

If perp does face to travel out of the area or Tucson a lot of go back and forth due to work and such isn’t possible then are taking NG with them while also concealing her? For example, by unfortunately forcing her into the trunk of a vehicle, similar to other kidnapping or abduction victims.

I also wondered if it would be helpful or even useful if LE scoped or asked the local drug and pharmacy stores, like CVS and such, if anyone had come by on the 1st or first few days afterwards buying first aid supplies, ice or heating pads and pain medication and such considering that NG did appear to be bleeding a lot and perhaps the perps did not have enough or maybe any supplies to assess and address the injury and treat with any pain she may be experiencing? Perhaps camera, digital or payment information or data could be yielded if anything turns up useful or intriguing to investigators. Just a thought

I disagree. I'm sure if NG was in a position to tell her captor that she needed medicine and had a pacemaker she would have done so. Telling the 'world' (including her captors) that this is a frail, very vulnerable person that you need to take care of because she will 'die' if you don't. It was pretty much out of law enforcement hands. To any kidnapper the prime asset is the kidnappee.

I had thought about the Sunday thing recently, though the days would be Saturday night into Sunday morning, no? I wonder if NG and family regularly had dinner together on a Saturday evening

I can appreciate the difference in perspective and even the good intentions of disclosing that information, but from a kidnapper's viewpoint an elderly lady who needs medication to survive and has a potentially trackable device implanted into her chest becomes a real liability real fast. And an existential threat to the criminal(s) freedom.

This! This is what makes me think it is a woman. Now, no bias here at all, just observation. I had a long time employee who walked like this. She considered herself a bisexual. Now, we are no where near TX, but that has always made me think it was a woman---her walk---that walk.

To me Lantana Man has an "astronaut"-like way of moving, he moves like he bulked up with many layers to disguise having a slight build. At some point I'd even wondered if he was a woman. My first thought when he bent over was "back/hip problems", but I can't tell if any of this is another effort to disguise himself.

I've seen a few people speculate about back/hip/leg issues. I do feel like that could track with the theory that he was a local workman of some kind - someone who's spent many years doing manual labour that his body is feeling the strain of now
