Anyone have guesses on why they haven't released a description of the vehicle? Just not certain what kind it is yet? Feels like it would be helpful in narrowing down tips and/or jogging the public's memory.

The simple answer is: They have no description to give

But would you be calling 911 quickly without trying to find her for a while first?
I'd be checking out the back, the pool house, the neighbors gardens, up and down the street, and scrubland around the house to see where she might have gone. I would've imagined perhaps she was sick, or she'd injured herself, and gotten confused or may be laying somewhere.
I think all this could've taken an hour, so the fact the family didn't call LE until an hour after they arrived at NG's house makes sense to me. I don't think there's anything odd there.
The family wouldn't jump to murder/kidnap at this point considering she'd lived safely in that house for 5 decades.
Never in a million years would I think that my elderly mother had been kidnapped. I'd also be looking around the house, at the neighbor's, calling her friends maybe, etc. When all those things had been exhausted, the panic would slowly creep in. If then I noticed the drops of blood, yeah: Full blown panic. 911 freakout.

Yeah - does seem like the most obvious answer. It seems like they had *something* pointing towards silver SUV, with both LD and C's cars being silver SUVs, but perhaps they aren't confident enough in that idea to officially release it. 😞

Has it ever been known if the video speed of perp walking toward the door was slowed down at all, or was it at normal speed?
Imo I believe because of the masks he was being very careful not to fall or trip.

Imo they have something to go on. Now whether what’s available for public consumption is viable or not remains to be seen. Both raids involved suv/crossover type vehicles of similar colors, with dark/black rims and tinted windows. both raids involved adult men living with mothers or MIL ..koink -i-doink…..idk, maybe, maybe not. Imo they have something on this but don’t want it known. Moo

There’s also been reports of white vans and LE/fbi asking neighbors about trucks as well.

But don't you think a random creeper trying his luck would have left more evidence, like a footprint in the dirt, etc.
Yes, I think it was planned and targeted - but why and to hurt whom?

Unless the gossip irresponsibly named a particular rival, I don't think speculating about rival colleagues is anymore "hateful" than speculating that the individual could be domestic help, or a tradesman who noticed a picture or googled a name.

The police have evidently DNA tested the immediate domestic help, and could be working their way through closely associated tradesmen, and then more distantly associated tradesmen (providing they can be identified). Rival colleagues are just as viable as suspects as tradesmen and domestic helpers and need the same DNA test .

SG has been out competing rivals over many years to arrive at the national level the same way NFL football players have.

As with NFL verse minor league football, the pay difference between major league, national level journalists and out competed minor league rivals who stayed at the local stations is likely vast. Likewise, the pay gap between a "starter" major league anchor and a "back up/ "second string"" anchor at the same station might be significant as well.

In the end, rival colleagues can have plenty of motivation in regards to jealousy and cash. Hoping I don't sound too shrill, but rival colleagues can make as good a pool of suspects as the pool guys. They just dress more stylish for work.
Your's is as valid a theory as any other. What you wrote, along with the recent Olympics, reminded me of the incident that occurred between figure skaters Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan, where TH's husband and bodyguard cooked up a scheme to injure NK so TH could have a better chance of winning at the Olympics. Watching a documentary about it, it was motivated purely for financial reasons, where they thought they'd get more sponsors and $$$$ by winning a gold medal. Desperate people do desperate things. The perp in this case in the kidnapping of NG could be anyone.
MOO
ETA: Who would have thought a colleague, fellow competitor and Olympian would have participated in such a brazen and violent act! It was never determined that TH was involved right from the beginning, although difficult for many to believe otherwise.

I feel like the only way they'd have a colour to go on would be an eye witness account (somebody being passed by a vehicle etc), I don't think any camera would capture footage could identify colour that time of night

But yes, I had forgotten they'd been asking neighbours up near AG's place about their trucks

Unless they saw blood in the house and signs of some kind of struggle...
MOO thats exactly what happened. From the time they got there until the time they called 911 seven minutes (approx) elapsed. JMO they went all over the house and possibly out to the yard (pool, casita) and then called when they didn't find her.

Really really good points… I’m hoping LE have more than we do, but wow what a benefit those things are to the timeline.

Are we going to see any more video? If not, is that because it’s not recovered or just not shown to us?

Has anyone FOIA’d the actual 911 call?
Great question about the 911 call. Would that be public record at this point?

This source discusses offender and victim relationship among other crime statistics. I think the stats on body removal are interesting. It says that when a offender preplans the crime and body disposal, that 50% of bodies are found on the perps property. If no pre-planning was involved that number drops significantly, and the offender's neighborhood becomes the most common spot for unplanned disposal.

They almost always prefer locations that they are familiar with. Whether it is their property or property nearby etc etc.

Very rarely would they tresspass on private property to dump a body. They generally want to assure that they have control of the body.

They may actually have that. It’s just not for public consumption. I DO hope they have an eye witness account. And if they do they’re doing the right thing by not talking about it. Number 1 There’s a psycho out there and number 2 a sect of the tik tok and other social media sleuthing public would also delve into every aspect of this persons life and try to find something online and would eventually find something and say “ they have lantana growing in their yard and I saw them on video shredding meat with black gloves” or something ridiculous like that, lol. No no. They need to keep every tip confidential Moo

1. What sort of "souvenirs", and why?

2. Why would LE hold back on a ransom note left within the home? So only the suspect would be able to supply that information?

3. Why was the ransom only a distraction? From what main motive? In your opinion?
1. photos of Sg, lingerie, family mementos

2. Possibly original ransom note if there WAS one in the house ,was going to be negotiated by LE. Then perp started sending notes to the media. Perp wanted instant gratification and acknowledgement of a note left in the house. He didnt get it..thus emails to HL and local TV approx 36 hours later

3. Ransom wasnt really about money. He made SG CRAWL. Watch those Instagram videos. The coded language. She was answering something he wrote. Ransom note was a vehicle to get ongoing attention from her. JMO

I’ve been thinking about that car- according to Ashleigh Banfield’s source the search warrant was not based on the car, yet the car is still in their custody. I don’t think they have a car identified.

Here’s my opinion on why LD became of interest.
  • Geofence- he lives close- within geofence area - they followed those phones and saw he visited some interesting locations that might fit with his former “trafficking” locations and/or associates.
  • Former arrests, associates
  • Note according to source the warrant was NOT based on the car. Tells me they don’t have a car identified. But they want to search that car to see if it was involved. I don’t understand how they were able to seize it with no arrest at the stop, though. Maybe he wasn’t honest about something they knew, therefore it became ok to take it? Maybe (hypothetically) it made a trip outside of county or to pick up items to traffick yet he denied at Culver’s.
  • Physical description- height, weight, not necessarily goatee.
  • Upcoming court date- motive for robbery
  • Tip- I’m must curious who that is and why!
According to this episode of Ashleigh Banfield says her source indicated the following about LD.
About 11:20 in to video.

1. Range Rover still part of investigation
2. Yes, guy driving was connected to the vehicle, possibly using for illegal activities. It is unknown if he owned the vehicle.
3. LE plane had been following him for quite some time before the raid. LD had been at his mother’s and they determined that would be a good time to stop him at the Culver’s.
4. Phones were seized. Still have. Will take weeks to process.
5. Why him? In order to get warrant they had: cell phone data, criminal background including illegal trafficking, physical description and they had a specific tip.

I’d love to see the flight aware tracking for that night!
Drawing attention to the statement in quote of LE following him for some time in plane. Who has an ability to get flight history? This stop was February 13.

The FBI has reportedly made the decision to pull almost all of the agents assigned to the Nancy Guthrie case out of Tucson and return them to the agency's Phoenix headquarters—amid rumors that the missing 84-year-old's daughter, "Today" host Savannah Guthrie, is preparing to leave Arizona and fly home to New York.

That is a few days old. I haven't seen any confirmation that SG is leaving Tucson, although she will eventually have to. But, the FBI said they will be leaving a team in Tucson and using their Phoenix office as HQ for the case.

I hadn't even considered the perp just, essentially, keeping the body. I had always just assumed with the vast areas of open land they just drove somewhere remote and dumped the body

Though I guess they maintain an element of control by knowing the where, and could revisit, if it was that kind of crime

What kind of motive and what kind of perpetrator do we actually have here if no one in his periphery will turn him in for 1.1 million dollars?
