I've thought of that, too. But I noticed on one of BE's videos that the area is full of drainage tunnels. That could be another possibility.
He needed to be able to drop her off close to where he could park his car but to be in a place where she wouldn't readily be found. And somehow easy and convenient for him on his way home in Tucson or elsewhere. JMO

There's a ginormous banner with her photo that says, "Bring Her Home" signed by thousands of people.

I took a photo of this beautiful post at the banner last Tuesday and thought about sharing it here, given all the grimness of this case. Seems like a relevant moment in the conversation.

I go back and forth between LD and DC. IMO DC's eyes and how he hid his right hand give me pause. Besides the mouth, what pushes you toward LD? I do hope they are watching these people closely.
To me, neither of them seem to gel with the level of preparation on display in the crime.

DC's extortion attempt seems sloppy in comparison, and similarly, that level of preparation runs counter to what a low-level criminal like LD would even consider IMO

But that opinion is formed from me believing the perp has displayed an unusually high level of preparation

With LD :

-We have proximity and familiarity w/ neighborhood and roads (lives 2 miles away).
-We have an established connection to Walmart (his last arrest was in a Walmart parking lot).
-We have established past possession of firearms (even though he's a felon, obviously he doesn't care).
-We have a history of drugs which I believe might connect to all the "disconnects" I've seen in the masked man footage which I quickly listed in the post a few above, and have discussed in many posts in detail before. The drugs also seem to push a desperate brazen motivation (see his dumb arrests).
-We have the fact that they photographed and impounded his RR.
-We have the glaring visual match to the eyes. Very circumstantial, but dang, he has those zesty eyes in some of the pics and the match to a released description is spot on.
-He just seems like the type of knucklehead to try something like this.

Of course, could end up being nothing though. But they have him on other charges pending so no rush forming a case.

Yes, that looks like a good area to check for NG! I wonder if there are cameras?
JMO
Some of the houses have cameras and he would have passed or been near those houses. I would think the park area (picnic tables by the lake and restrooms) would have cameras but I don't know. I've never noticed them.

I don’t think they have anything at this point as far as an actual suspect. There may be evidence in their possession that has to be reviewed or processed, which will lead them to their person/s. But I don’t think they have anyone in their crosshairs yet.

I love Mackenzie Robbs cactus metaphor. There's Psalm 23 right below!

May i ask a question about the getaway car? Of course identifying it would be huge. However, Where the heck was it on that night? One perp, it's parked somewhere that possibly could be seen as not belonging in the neighborhood at 2 am. 2 perps, one is sitting in the car waiting? One is in the house with perp#1? Still there's a car there. 2 perps and one was circling the block? Nah. too much of a risk seeing it on security footage as a car circling .

Ok, So, let's go back to one perp. Car is parked somewhere? What's behind NG's home? Backyard touching her backyard? Same problem arises. manned or unmanned vehicle not belonging in the hood at 2am. Plus, IMO she was taken out the front door due to the blood droplets on the front porch.

All it took was one person peeking out the window at 2am to notice that car sitting on the street. OR someone's dog barking. Luck or what?????????? JMO

Agree. I also believe that this perp researched, prepared carefully and planned extensively for this crime. I agree that low level criminals don't fit how this perp thought through so many possible scenarios and planned accordingly. JMO

I noticed the Psalm 23 when I was posting and honestly hoped no one would start theorizing that the signer had to be the perp. ;)

The one physical feature that doesn't seem to match LD are PGs lips. PG has full lips and LD has very thin lips. However, I believe PG is wearing two masks and those lips are fake.

I believe it was either quietly pulled in the driveway w/ lights off (I wound imagine they tested for tire tracks day 1 on that surface). There is enough privacy landscaping to hide it from view of spaced out homes (see pics attached).

Second option, is that it was a car with accomplice/associate in/around the neighborhoods and was called in, then drove in driveway and out quickly.

All of this, couldn’t have said it better myself. It feels the right amount of personal to me, where the perp might not have known who SG was necessarily but would know “rich, famous girl’s mom lives close by”. IMO

The mouth is the thing that gets me the most. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post screenshots of LD’s mouth here so I won’t, but look him up yourselves and compare his pursed lips and mustache shape to these photos (I cropped the photos from the linked article) it’s chilling, MOO.

If the car was parked with its lights off I don't think any of the neighbours would necessarily be even able to see it from their windows. And when driving with lights on, I'm not sure the neighbours would see anything beyond the lights

The bigger issue is other vehicles passing and I wonder if someone did actually spot something suspicious and that's why LE have been so interested in LD's RR and asking neighbours about their trucks when canvassing

A lot of things with LD make sense for him to be the perp. FBI had enough on him to get a federal judge to sign a federal warrant to search his home, which has a higher bar than getting a warrant for a regular search. But, does he has the ability to plan this crime in the very meticulous and thorough way in which it was planned?

I do believe that LE and FBI have continuing to monitor him and his movements, and likely have surveillance on LD and other possible suspects.

I think the facts surrounding his 2025 arrest are interesting. He had a gun and tactical gear. That's pretty odd.

Maybe that is what bothers me. What would he have been doing with that pitiful holster?

<snipped>

Young men don't watch The Today Show. Middle aged working men don't watch the Today Show. Burglars don't watch the Today Show. Psychopathic run of the mill kidnappers don't watch the Today Show. Sure, one of these types may have seen the Today Show in passing while switching between channels a time or two, but it isn't very likely that when he did he just happened upon the segment with Nancy. And even if one of these types did happen onto that segment, it isn't likely that he would consider the two of them 'prime pickens' for a payday when there are far more wealthy folks worth far more money, who are far more easily available, and who are far easier to manage in captivity. And probably even in Tucson. And perhaps even close by.

So what in the world is going on here? Why in the world did the perpetrator choose Savannah to fleece? And, most importantly, how did he arrive at that conclusion, and from whence?

JMO.
I thought about this the first week of the case because I hadn't watched the home visit segment on the Today Show itself but had seen coverage of it on the local NBC affiliate, where they also featured associated hometown interviews that didn't appear on the Today Show. Just about anyone in Tucson could have caught that content on the local morning or evening news and taken notice.

My personal thought was also immediately that I hope it has nothing to do with all that coverage in November because my stomach turns at the thought of SG feeling as though that lovely segment put her mom in harm's way. Sadly I wouldn't be surprised by a connection there.
