Yes and they can probably determine if someone is living alone or with a roommate or family. Wow a service provider coming in and reading various awards and documents on the wall. To be honest, I would not have thought a thing about it until the Guthrie case. Good tip on windows and doors after a service provider has been to the home.

Those questions would have me on alert that he was fishing for info. JMO.

I listened to all 46 minutes of Brian Entin's show, a real feat for me because I'm not much for online videos or podcasts. There were some interesting comments/points/observations and for those who might be like me and not be committed to long watches/listens I'll mention a few below:

One dismaying fact is that either one or a couple of the neighbors called Brian names. I'm not sure if it was just him or the media in general. He said they called them "maggots" (I'm pretty sure I heard that right). I also thought it was interesting that his guest, Maureen (former FBI agent) said she would be willing to fly to Tucson and they could rent horses and start looking together (!!!). ETA: she meant in the desert, I presume. This was right after they talked about the Cajun Navy.

A lot of the observations about geofencing were interesting and Maureen as well as the geofencing experts that followed didn't exclude the idea of the perpetrator being someone in the neighborhood. If that's the case, it becomes harder to isolate the phone patterns for those who always live there - but there are ways.

Brian said that the cell phone reception in the little pocket of the street where NG's house is located is very, very spotty - but it improves about a block up or a block down the street. They said that spotty cell phone reception can also create challenges for geofencing.

I didn't take notes, but these were some of the standout points (for me).

A new Gray Hughes video
Note at the end he says about the Guthrie siblings visiting Nsncys memorial that they looked so caring about eachother and wouldn't act that way if they thought one of them was responsible for their mothers murder. Why did he say murder?

Maybe it's just me, but I've never had an insurance agent inspect my house. When selling property I've had inspections. It could be different in Arizona?
Some Insurance Carriers are more diligent about inspections. If you change your Carrier, they may require an inspection. Some just require roof inspections, some want full interior and exterior. Sidewalks and exterior surfaces, all mechanicals including electrical, boiler, etc.

I think most people think she was killed.

Something I forgot to mention from the BE show tonight - he asked them about the possibility of the perpetrator having a wifi jammer and they seemed to be leaning more toward it being a walkie talkie antenna.

ETA: He was asking about the pointy thing in the pocket.

He bought what he needed. Look at it this way. You need to get to work. I have a Mercedes. It gets me to work. You have a used Volkswagen bug. It gets you to work. We both have what we need to accomplish what we want. His backpack was cheap and disposable. He didn't need Osprey or Patagonia. He may even have that. But a cheap backpack served his purpose, just like your Volkswagen bug serves yours. JMO
I agree that he bought what he needed. As you imply, the backpack may have been intended to be thrown out with whatever evidence, such as blood, that ended up on it. That said, if he was going to throw things out, he was taking the risk that some of his DNA would be on those things too.

I wasn't critiquing his gear from a position of hiking snobbery. At least, I didn't mean to. ;) But like others here, based on the very small amount of info we can get from the photo and videos, I'm trying to get a sense of who Lantana man is, what he might do for work and hobbies, etc. Unless he's a hiker who got cheap disposable gear just for this crime, the lack of a headlamp and the nature of the backpack makes me think he probably isn't a hiker. As has been noted upthread, some professions in which people use bite lights include pilots, electricians, mechanics, and plumbers.

ETA: Lantana man appeared to think that the more layers he wore, the safer he was. So far, that has worked for him. But what's in those layers gives us some clues about him.

There was no mention by Nanos that there was any person detected at 1:47 a.m. He only stated that the doorbell camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m.
The only time Nanos mentioned that software detected a person on camera was at 2:12 a.m.

The FBI did not collect that camera off of the Casita roof until after Nanos gave that timeline.

In the very first video clip of Lantana man he clearly comes into view from the right side of the home - left side from the view of the door nest camera.

If the front door video footage is from 1:47 a.m. then where is the footage of the person detected at 2:12 a.m.?

A battery-powered Nest camera or doorbell (Like Nancy's) will continue to record events if it loses power or Wi-Fi, saving them to local memory for up to one hour. It will then upload these recorded clips once the connection is restored. They will also only record motion/person events.

The Sheriff has just invalidated the only publicly known key evidence in this case. I’m speechless.

What are you referring to?
He states that there is no certainty as to when each video capture took place. That’s his explanation for no time stamp.

I’m physically sick because of how incompetent the PCSO has handled this investigation.

This might help.

"A spokesperson with FBI headquarters declined to comment Monday on possible dates tied to the image or whether the person is the same person seen in the other security video released by the agency.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a statement Monday that there is no date or timestamp associated with the image and that any suggestion that it was taken on a different day is "purely speculative."

"That’s all it is is speculation," Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News. "We understand the thinking behind it, but again, I remind everybody, we follow the rules of evidence. And right now we have no evidence to suggest that it occurred that day or days before.”

He was talking about the image of the individual without a backpack not the video of the individual at Nancy's front door.

He's been consistently hesitant about that topic. Clearly, there's metadata that would provide those answers but he has always denied that any video or photo have time and date stamps. It's frustrating.

He really hasn't been specific about anything. He's holding a lot of information back. Someday we will all know what he knows.

Maybe I missed it but did Nanos recently (as within the past few days) state something about time stamps and the video footage of Lantana man?
