I know! I was shocked, too! And he spoke to her. You could see he was itching to get to her when he was preparing to exit. Wonder what he said.

TT is in the house tonight, although she assured the court that if released without bond, she'd return tomorrow now that she "understood." Judge is like: "yeah, no, you're staying 'with us' tonight!"

I wonder if she'll be a hostile witness...

I think we'll hear a lot of it again, but prolly not the interviews on film -- but I would like for the jury to hear them, JMO. I think the def atty will object to some of it & may get sustained. They talked more about the Carson murder than I expected. We'll see who wins that battle...

But I don't mind listening/hearing it again -- it'll be a bit different, I think...

I'll have my coffee, then Pepsi & my chocolate & be happy. We will go back to see our new gdaughter tomorrow am, but we'll be back pretty soon, I'm thinkin'. She's so pretty & doing well. So are mom & dad and her gparents!!

I'd love to know where they found TT. Maybe her arrest rec will be on the mugshots tonight... If so, I'll get a pic for your scrapbooks.... She wasn't a happy camper -- skipping being a subpoenaed witness ain't like skipping school, is it??!!

This has been an interesting court day. All day voir dire -- a new one for me... I enjoyed sharing it with all you Sleuths!!

Oh I didn't mind listening and quilting at the same time, and I know it will be different in front of the jury. I wan't impressed with the defense questions. imo

Congrats on the new Gdaughter and happy everyone is doing well!

Does the judge decide what gets let in though?

Wait, is she Lovette's half sister, too? I read that she's Demario Atwater's half-sis. All these peeps are getting me confused.

You are right Boodles, I got in a hurry and posted it wrong! Too many crazy characters in this trial to keep track of. Sorry!

I fixed it!

Thanks, Jewels, for the good wishes -- she and her parents are doing great -- they're all a bit tired...(!!)

bbm -- Yes, indeed, the judge & the judge alone will say "sustained" or "overruled" when an objection is heard about some question that most likely the PT will ask. And because of the voir dire today, he'll be able to mull it over before it is in front of the jury. We'll see how much he allows. The DT doesn't want anything in on the Carson murder where Lovette got Guilty of M1, so as not to influence the jury on this one, but the PT wants it in to show a pattern of violence. Hmmmm. We'll see. We don't want -- and the judge least of all -- something to be grounds for appeal and re-trial if the verdict is Guilty. It'll should be good watching.

And we'll see what Tikoya Maybrey will say when she gets up there -- will she talk??

Thanks for all the updates, everyone. I finally thought I had a day to watch , but summer trials are difficult!

Bordem, so happy for you and your new granddaughter!!

I am trying to recall any other trial where the defendant had already being convicted of one murder, and then being tried for another.

I understand why the Judge has to be careful with the Eve Carson murder details though.
I just hope the Jurors don't think this second trial isn't as important to get that Murder 1 Conviction, because it is....

I never want this guy to see or hear anything for the rest of his life, except the pleas from the victims begging for their lives.

So sad... :(

Hi back atcha, Justice! Glad you're on board. Thanks for the good grandparent wishes!

bbm -- You are so right about the importance of this trial. LAL is guilty, guilty, guilty, and he needs to serve a 2nd LWOP after he serves his first one. Since he was less than 18 years old when he committed the Mahato murder -- just like he was when he committed the Carson murder, the LWOP sentence must be given using mitigating and aggravating factors to be weighed by the judge. This, if we get to that here, will be interesting to watch. The US Supreme Court, as you prolly know, said that an LWOP sentence could not be automatically given to someone who was LT 18 y/o at the time of the crime, but the judge could review and pronounce it. Otherwise the defendant gets xx years to life. The max may be 25 years. (Or 40 years -- ackkk, CRS). Still trying to find it in our Gen. Statutes, but it's too late tonight.

And I can't recall another trial I've watched that had an already convicted M1 going to trial for M1 again.... Surely, Shirley, we've seen it...

Another one, as you said, so sad. It's very hard for most of us to understand the concept of just killing someone and thinking about it so lightly & discussing it the same way. No big deal. Bang, bang. On to the next one. And that's what the 17 y/o did -- did one and several weeks later, just does it again. So alien; so beneath human. So, so wrong.

Let's put this guy away for two lifetimes... Justice for Mahato.
