Found Deceased NC - Allicia “Allisha” Dene Watts, 39, left home in Charlotte, car found in Anson County, 16 Jul 2023 *arrest*

DEC 9, 2024
An update on the case is expected during the 10 a.m. hearing.

Dunmore's been held under a $1 million bond since his arrest. Prosecutors announced in October 2023 that they would not seek the death penalty.
I can find no updates :(
The second article above has been updated with a new court date - Feb. 10, 2025.

The first paragraph is a little confusing. "...had his case continued Wednesday after his defense attorney requested the personnel records of two detectives who secured his medical records."

Guessing that Wednesday is a typo and should be Monday. ? MOO

In January, Dunmore and his attorneys received requested copies of personnel records for Montgomery County Sheriff's Office detectives Christopher McManus and Robert Penny. The court, having approved the release of portion of those records, kept them under seal and out of the public eye

I am confused by the request for personnel records of detectives? Unless they think there is something to be found in there that will drastically affect the credibility of those detectives and the case they built around Mr. Dunmore?

Seems like the state has a pretty good case against him so what are they fishing for?

The disposition hearing for James Dunmore, the man charged with killing Allisha Watts and dumping her body in a remote Montgomery County community in July 2023, has been continued yet again – after he was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

The last hearing was in September 2024 when a judge denied a request by Dunmore's attorney to dismiss the case. The ruling came after it was revealed that the state violated Dunmore's constitutional rights by wrongly obtaining confidential medical records.

James Dunmore, the man charged with killing Allisha Watts and dumping her body in a remote Montgomery County community in July 2023, had his case continued and did not appear in court on Monday, officials said.

The District Attorney's Office told WCNC Charlotte that Dunmore wasn't brought to court Monday for a scheduled hearing as his case will be continued. His next court date hasn't been determined.
