Says he drives a 2016 Mercedes Metris, which is a pretty large van. Would be of value to someone homeless and looking for a place to sleep. All IMO of course.

As far as we know tonight, here in the Charlotte area, neither he nor the van has been found yet. Wife has been advised by LE to keep details to a minimum when communicating with the public. She is in touch with detectives and providing a few responses on Next Door. There are photos of him via a simple Google search regarding poker playing. Hard to know if money had anything to do with his disappearance. He runs a wallpaper and painting business. As we all know from being here awhile and talking about these cases, it could be anything — he left on his own for whatever reason, or he met with some type of foul play. I do worry about the bars (here in Charlotte and in general). There have been cases of people leaving bars never to be seen again. We’ll see what transpires or if his van shows up.

There are so many people here in CLT and so much traffic. We can keep an eye out, but who knows.

I’m under the impression he used the van for his business. IMO…I’m leaning more towards someone who saw or interacted with him while he was out (like at a bar, or after). There are sketchy people here, like everywhere these days I guess. But without more details, it’s hard to know.

In my last post I forgot to post one thing I didn't understand in the OP article. It says:

"Nadia says the last messages from her husband were received at 9:40 p.m. before he went missing around midnight".

So the last messages were received at 9:40pm but how do they know he went missing around midnight? What if he went missing at 9:45pm instead? Or maybe they know he was somewhere until midnight and aren't talking about that now? It's probably just worded weirdly in the article, but I thought it was strange and made me have a second look.

It looks like there's lots of water around Steele Creek - are they checking all around that area for a possible accident into the water?

I think you read it correctly. I read it the same way. LE either knows something about the time, or his phone, or a person or a location, or it’s just a sloppily written sentence. But, it’s such an early and clear sentence in the article, perhaps they just won’t say. I watched the local news here the past few days, and I’ve seen nothing discussed, which is kind of odd. Maybe WCCB had it on already, and I missed it. There is the lake and river. But, it’d be more helpful to know who he was meeting that night and where. I imagine they know more and are looking into things. It would be easy to check his financial accounts, laptop, phone records. His wife says she told detectives all she could about friends in other places, etc. His hometown is Chicago. LE not able to track his car’s location as wife said the car (van) wasn’t connected to that Mercedes locator system.

I have a theory, but I think its worth checking out. If he went over this bridge on 74, he could have either driven into thr river or down off the boat ramp.

He messaged Nadia at 9:40, but at 3am his phone was off. The vehicle has not been found, and the phone has not come back on.

It’s hard to speculate without much info or without knowing this man. It could be simple—did he just not want to be married anymore or deal with a baby, and he left her? If so, why text her at 9:42pm, just leave. But part of me is wondering if he met someone for a drink, and something happened at the location or after leaving. I’m not as concerned about a wreck as I am someone doing something to him and taking his car, and within hours it’s down in South Carolina or who knows where stripped. I have wondered if the “he was online” at 12:46am was actually someone else on his phone trying to do something (fraud). Are all his accounts, including financial, untouched? Were there any weird withdrawals last Wednesday or right before then? His wife said he was at Walmart the day of or before. What did he buy? So many questions…

That would be a good place to check too. Off the boat dock or before the bridge starts I to the Catawba River is in the direction of him heading home as well. I do t think it could hurt to check all 3 of those locations.

There was a heavy thunderstorm in that area yesterday morning, it had been dry with little rain up until that point.

We can’t trace his route because we don’t know where he was working that day or where he was meeting friends. There’s not many bars near his house.
