I agree with a lot of what you said. However. . .we may have chosen to have our children, but we had no say in the choices of content displayed on our television screens. Whether we like it or not, we have sanitary protection ads, penis enlargement ads, viagara ads, and a variety of sleazy, ill-disguised

in most of the other shows. I know I can do without tv, and could when my children were growing up. I shut the damned thing off when things got a bit "hot" and that was 20 years ago. But, in today's media world it's almost impossible to protect the kiddies from sleaze of some sort without throwing the tv out the window. We should not have to live that way. We should take back our right to decent television shows.
I also have to agree that there was some sort of sexual abuse going on with these boys. I just finished reading Death of Innocence, a true story about the horrific rape, murder, and attempted murder of 2 12 year old girls by two young boys, 15 and 16. This story was horrible. What those boys did was perverted and disgusting. One of the boys had been abused by his father and the other was - well, there are no words. Half imbecile seems right, but not really accurate. They were both Amoral as opposed to Immoral. Both, btw, were great tv watchers. However. . .this story took place about 30 years ago when tv wasn't as bad as it is today. I believe there is a combination of factors at work in these crimes. BUT, tv and movies definitely play a role and I believe all those who are concerned about their children need to do something about what is on tv now, aside from monitoring. You cannot monitor everything, it's impossible.
