In regards to this cell signal:

1) How precise of a location can this be pinpointed to? Anyone have an idea? In other words is this an exact pinpoint or a radius of a certain distance?

2) Could her cell have been tossed into a creek and maybe the current helped the phone make it's way to this location?

3) What would be a reason that a cell would be on and then be turned off besides someone turning it off or the battery dying? Could water damage cause a cell to turn off?

All good questions, FindingTheMissing...

IIRC... The creek bed is dry... But I may be incorrect...

could a local maybe fill us in on the water conditions?

TIA...:seeya:

Goodness, I didn't know the creek bed was dry? This has been one of NC wettest winters, ever. It even snowed in Myrtle Beach this winter, which hardly ever happens.

Up at Lazy Acres Campground where the phone pinged is another creek called Big Sandy Run which on Google Satellite view looks to be dry, but there is a pond right next to the campground.

That's the one I'm wondering about. Because I thought I remembered reading in one of the links upthread that her phone also pinged near the airport. That creek is right in the area of both the airport AND the campground.

I even checked it out from Bing to see how dry it looks and it does look pretty dry. But as shefner said above this has been one heck of a crazy winter season. The creeks that are usually dry may not be so dry right now.

Reading about the Lazy Acres Campground someone commented to bring bug spray because the bugs are thick at night. So, if she left her grandparents house at night to visit a friend, I wouldn't think she would go down by the creek and campground without taking some bug spray if she planned to be outdoors. Only if she planned to get in a car with someone. Or in a RV.

FBI and hope Mills police are leading this investigation. We had over 600 people turn out yesterday to search, they had all the resources needed to carry out a search

I never post I am pretty new. I am in NC and this has been one of the wettest winters we have ever had. If it is dry that is very surprising to me. I am not in that area but I know it was on the news just a couple of days ago that we have had a lot more rain than what we are used to.

I can't imagine it being dry right now. NC has had rain or snow all this (never ending) winter.

Danielle's case was covered on NG, again, tonight. Her mom was interviewed. I didn't catch all of it, but most of what I did hear was information we already knew. I did hear Danielle's mother say that Danielle was taking a folder to her friend's house. I don't remember hearing about the folder until tonight. I wonder if it was found?
