Clark’s mother, Tiffany Concepcion, was quoted by the news outlet saying she believes a third person the teens met up with might be involved in their deaths.

“Who is strong enough to carry two bodies and dump them? We want answers,” she said.

David White, a man who lives near the area where the bodies were found, told ABC 11 he’d heard “close to 10 shots” fired from what sounded like an “automatic gun” a few days ago.

After pausing for a second, he said, “five more shots went off.”

“I thought, ‘Who’s shooting this late at night?”

Devin Clark, 18, was found shot dead near Woods after both were reported missing. The bodies were discovered by men riding four-wheelers near Hillsborough, North Carolina, on Sunday afternoon.
The mother of one of the two missing North Carolina teenagers who were found shot to deathover the weekend demanded answers and “justice” at all costs for her murdered son.

“He never hurt anybody, so for him to get done like this is … I have to have answers,” Tiffany Concepcion told ABC11 of her son, 18-year-old Devin Clark. “I want to get justice and I don’t care where I have to go, what I have to do, who I’ve got to talk to, I’m going to keep going and keep doing it.”

The only “new” piece of information that seems to be emphasized is that there was a third person present. I think that is the major clue that Devin and Lyric were acquainted with the killer. Because, obviously there had to be at least one other person present/involved. Obviously

Loved ones in mourning and Woods’ grandfather are offering a $10,000 reward for information on her death, according to The News & Observer.

“Through our ongoing investigation, we have information that suggests the two individuals located off Buckhorn Road yesterday are Lyric Woods, 14, and Devin Clark, 18,” said Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood. “Family members reported Lyric missing Saturday afternoon to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office; the deputy filed the missing person’s report in the National Crime Information Center index (NCIC) at 3:44 pm. Devin Clark’s family contacted the Mebane Police Department on Sunday with concerns about his whereabouts. An officer entered him into NCIC at approximately 1:42 pm.”

Based on the info above, Lyric was reported missing on Saturday and then Devin was not reported missing until Sunday. Their bodies were found on Sunday. So that might explain the delay in LE getting in touch with Devin's family about his death. LE might have been able to more quickly determine Lyric's identity and not Devin's.

Local-adjacent story for me. I have kids this age, and I'm just heartbroken for the two families.

I can attest social media helps kids "know" and meet kids from other schools. Cedar Ridge and Eastern Alamance are in the same 'general' area. Cedar Ridge is in Orange County, which is the next county over just east of Alamance County.

I wonder if this is a teen situation. Probably another teen did this to them.
I agree this was done by a young person out of jealousy or revenge. There is nothing linking either teen to drugs so far. This seems to be a compulsive act.
I have read online speculation on a race issue and in no way believe that at all. Some stereotyping going on with that theory and I am glad to not see that here at Websleuths.
It will be solved quickly.

I'm not getting drug vibes from this case. I really feel like this was rooted in jealousy.
I don't feel the drug vibe either. I am wondering if they were good friends and she was meeting someone and he went along to keep her safe, I know that is the version just seeing the good but I just feel they were innocent victims, could be wrong of course.

I don't know anything about either of these kids, but his mother saying that she didn't know Lyric or her family makes me believe that they were just friends and nothing more than that. Even if it was a very recent romantic relationship, his mother would've noticed something. Poor kids, both of them.

Didn't a neighbour say they saw her at 3am which is how they know there was another person with them? also Devin lived with his father, not mother, but we haven't heard anything from him. He must be known for going off if they didn't report him missing until Sunday.

Just some observations and speculation. ALL MOO

I get the impression that Devin either lived with his dad or was staying with him that weekend. I think it's possible Dad didn't know he was missing because maybe Devin was supposed to be with a friend, like a sleepover or something, which would explain why he wasn't reported missing right away. As opposed to Lyric, whose stepdad noticed she wasn't in her room where she was supposed to be by the next morning.

Tenderly, I say that Devin's mom flew off the handle and the media ran with it. I think she just kinda upchucked all her emotions (understandable). She likely knew nothing of Lyric, no matter what their relationship or lack thereof was. <modsnip>

I'm waiting patiently for more info.

Who killed the missing North Carolina teens? What we know about the investigation.

Woods was last seen by her stepfather around 11 p.m. Friday at their house in Efland, according to a missing persons report filed Saturday around noon with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Her stepfather said he learned Woods was missing around 10 a.m. Saturday when he went to wake her up, according to the report.

A copy of Clark’s missing persons report released by the Mebane Police Department said he also was last seen around 11 p.m. Friday but provided few other details. The report was filed Sunday around 11:25 a.m.

A neighbor saw a car in the area at 3:00 AM on Friday, and police believe that the tracking dog results indicated that she got into the car. Devin did not have access to a vehicle, so he was not the driver.
