This bodes well as far as new developments go.

Hopefully we hear word of an arrest.

Worst case, they’ll use this to turn up the heat on her husband (formally call him a “suspect” or something).

Nash sheriff: Still no positive ID of body found amid search for missing Nash woman

Nashville, N.C. — Hours after the decomposing body of a woman was found in Edgecombe County by state workers, law enforcement authorities in Nash County said Wednesday there was still no positive identification of that body.
[...]
Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone had declined to publicly identify the body until his office received the results of an autopsy that had been ordered by law enforcement officials.

"We're just going to take it step-by-step and take our time with the investigation," Stone said Tuesday night. “I’ve heard nobody that knew her had anything negative to say about this woman. What a tragic event. Even more tragic we now have a 10-year-old without a mom."

I wonder if the first ex was buried or cremated? If this goes the way we think, it might lead to an exhumation.

I'm assuming they are looking for a weapon? Not certain if it could be anything else. Seems like a rookie move to discard something like that on your own property. imo

It does. But if this was a crime of passion, then he might have disposed of the weapon close to home, especially if he was in a panic, and not thinking clearly.

This whole thing looks rushed to me.

One thing they did mention though is that ex wife hit her forehead, I was thinking she must have fell BACKWARDS.. how do you slip on ice and fall hard enough on your forehead to die? Seems even more strange now.
It could have caused a subdural hematoma -- a bleed outside of her brain which could be fatal. If it was a bad bleed, it might not have taken too long for it to be fatal.
Something could have happened which made her slip and fall.

What Is a Subdural Hematoma?

In a subdural hematoma, blood collects between the layers of tissue that surround the brain. The outermost layer is called the dura. In a subdural hematoma, bleeding occurs between the dura and the next layer, the arachnoid.

The bleeding in a subdural hematoma is under the skull and outside the brain, not in the brain itself. As blood accumulates, however, pressure on the brain increases. The pressure on the brain causes a subdural hematoma's symptoms. If pressure inside the skull rises to very high level, a subdural hematoma can lead to unconsciousness and death.

I’m not worried about him being a flight risk, as much as I am concerned about him potentially being a suicide risk.

Oh there’s no doubt, he can’t make a move without being watched. He’s being watched by law enforcement, and likely has a gps locator on his vehicle.

Is there any risk with the children? That's what I worry about in these 'released' POI's.

I believe the minor child is in the custody of grandparents.

This guy would have a team of people watching him, and law enforcement would share your concern.

I’m not worried about him being provided the opportunity to do further harm to his family.

Atleast anytime soon.

The son is supposedly with grandparents (although I guess he could be there, too)

I think her husband happened.

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

One wife murdered, another the victim of a suspicious “accident.”

I think the two deaths are the result of the same perpetrator.

I'm sure LE wants proof from the M.E. that the body is indeed Diana Keel, for any future legal steps that may be taken. They also want a cause and manner of death to be on record which an autopsy should show. And certainly her family wants to be sure that it is Keel as well as how she died (if the M.E. can determine it). Head/skull injury -- another "fall" perhaps? Strangulation -- hyoid bone broken? Numerous broken bones? Bullet wound?

Really....how about Josh Powell? And he is with HIS parents, no...the kid?

It’s possible, depending on weather conditions and animal activity.

What surprises me, is that they haven’t identified her via dental records.

Unless she doesn’t have any x-rays on file.

No handrails on the front steps of that house.

It would have made more sense had she fallen on the front steps, without a handrail, but she fell on the back steps according to this article.

"A deputy on scene confirmed to CBS 17 that Lynn Keel's first wife, Elizabeth Bess Edwards Keel, died at the same home on Jan. 1, 2006. He told investigators she fell on the back steps and died."
