It would be clear if she were dumped or killed on the spot through the evidence at the scene. (They stated this is definitely a homicide upon finding her). Is crime tape up where her body was found? Is it still up at the house? And who owns a blue truck?

does this vehicle appear in any photos / videos outside her house eg is it his car ?

If one were to do a search for RLK on some of the "people search" sites, one might find ownership of this type of vehicle. As to photos, I know her Dodge Durango is in some of the pics, not sure about a truck.

Hmmm...person(s) of interest. I'd guess LK did not exactly have a network of close friends. LE would know who to talk to.

The trail of evidence can be more complicated when more than one person is involved in a murder. Perhaps that why there is no arrest yet. And the second person may be involved in the coverup only.

But when you get other people involved in your murder, there is the reasonable chance that the accomplice(s) end up talking when pressure is applied by LE (see "nurse from Idaho").

I don't really think that finding the body 30 miles away by a "DOT" worker was a random discovery. I think LE had information to have Polks Hole Road checked out. I hope someone is talking to get this wrapped up, because there is no murder weapon that we know of yet. And that could be a problem.

Good points, as usual, Watchman! There are so many ways someone can be killed, and sometimes we are surprised either at the cleverness of the perpetrator, or his/her absolute stoopidity, but it's always sad and maddening.
I've said it before on other cases, and I'll say it again. When I asked the retired Chief of Police here in Raleigh, NC, how his people were able to catch the perpetrators of crimes like this, he said two words: "People talk." Just like you said in your post -- especially if the person was on the fringe of this crime or if the killer just talked about it.
And the weapon -- it could be anywhere -- a pistol, pipe, wrench, rock, etc., would be easy to break apart and throw away pieces wherever; if she was strangled by two hands, then there is no "hardware" or garrote or rope; etc., etc.
Let's hope the M.E. will be able to tell what type of weapon was used -- that could certainly be a big help in this sad situation.

This article answers some of our questions

'Overwhelming support' seen after Nash County mom's death, sheriff says

"A Nash County murder investigation of a mom's death likely has only one culprit, according to the sheriff......

Investigators identified the missing woman's husband, Lynn Keel, as a person of interest on Tuesday. Deputies questioned him when the missing person investigation began March 9, and again on March 12 after the recovery of the body.

Stone said earlier that day that Keel was staying at his parents' home in Nashville. No one answered the door at the house either Wednesday or Thursday.

Two days worth of newspapers sat outside, and neighbors said they had not noticed anyone entering or leaving......

Diana and Lynn Keel met in Bogota, Colombia, about a year after his previous wife died at home.
They are still in search of witnesses who saw suspicious activity in the area of Polks Hole Road near Tarboro, where Keel's killer dumped her body. Investigators hope someone along NC 33 between Tarboro and Leggett or NC 97 between Leggett and Rocky Mount has surveillance video which might show vehicles on those roads from Friday.

They also want to know if anyone saw a dark blue Dodge Ram pickup truck in that area......"
Excellent article. Thank you for posting this, FBEye.

I am getting more of a “We know who you are, and we are coming to get you” vibe from the sheriff tonight:

“[SBM]

‘We're not at the point of a specific person of interest at this moment, but we're getting close,‘ Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone said Thursday afternoon.

‘Until we get to the final stages of it we won't know (if there's more than one person involved). It's definitely possible, but maybe not probable.’

[SBM]

Investigators said Lynn Keel is not under any restrictions at this time.

‘We've not got any tracking or anything of that nature, and he's been very cooperative throughout all of this,’ Stone said.

‘Every time we've tried to get up with him, we've got up with him. We've been in communications with him.’

[SBM]

Additional deputies and officers from Moore County and Guilford County are assisting with the case, and Stone said some law enforcement agents from New York are also involved. He described one team of license and theft experts which arrived Thursday as ‘gurus of motor vehicles.’

The sheriff said some of the new investigators specialize in tires, transmissions, and other car parts. Diana Keel's Dodge Durango was still at her home when she went missing. It was no longer at the house on Thursday, as a crime scene unit of at least a half-dozen inspectors examined the area where the SUV sat previously.

Stone described the community response since Keel's disappearance as offering ‘overwhelming support’ which includes clues.

‘I feel very good about this,’ the sheriff said. ‘I think we're going to be able to put this together. It's just going to take time.’

[SBM]”
Did they find car parts where the body was found!?

I think this may have to do with tire tracks or soil on tires. Or if he was "trying" to kill her, maybe cut brake lines... If there was anyone he confided in or who helped, even to cover up, maybe they knew a few things he tried...? Or the experts are for his vehicle which would not be there if he was not staying there since it was a crime scene... They likely have that one for testing and inspection as well...

The part about licenses and theft actually has me more confused... What kind of licenses? Plates, driver's licenses? Theft? Interesting... Was he found to be doing something beyond the possible murder of his wife...?

After seeing KatzEyes’ post, I did a search on one of those sites. They have a 1998 Dodge Ram and a 2006 Dodge Ram listed under “Rexford Keel, 57, Nashville, NC, AKA: Rexford L Keel, Rexford LYNN Keel, Rexfor ....”

The blue barrels look brand new to me :(.

Rest In Peace, Diana. I’m so sorry.

Thanks for posting the link to the article. I knew I'd read his first wife fell down the front steps. The ones that have no handrails.
