Friday 3/8 was the day. Daughter last talked with her on Thursday, could not reach her Friday. Didnt show up to work Friday. Last time seen or heard from was Friday.

I’m just quoting the sheriff news bulletin which says the 9th. Lots of media articles say the 7th. o_O:( Beats me.

Here’s another source that says Saturday the 9th.
Sheriff: Body found Tuesday is missing Nash County woman

Keel, 38, was last seen on Friday and reported missing on Saturday. Her body was found Tuesday by North Carolina Department of Transportation officials off of Polks Hole Road in Tarboro, Stone said. An autopsy was performed on Wednesday.

"He said there were other "persons of interest" in the case, but he declined to release their names."

I wonder who these other persons (pl) of interest could be? Who would help with this??

Hmmm...person(s) of interest. I'd guess LK did not exactly have a network of close friends. LE would know who to talk to.

The trail of evidence can be more complicated when more than one person is involved in a murder. Perhaps that why there is no arrest yet. And the second person may be involved in the coverup only.

But when you get other people involved in your murder, there is the reasonable chance that the accomplice(s) end up talking when pressure is applied by LE (see "nurse from Idaho").

I don't really think that finding the body 30 miles away by a "DOT" worker was a random discovery. I think LE had information to have Polks Hole Road checked out. I hope someone is talking to get this wrapped up, because there is no murder weapon that we know of yet. And that could be a problem.

Maybe LE wants him to feel safe until they have enough evidence against him and that's why they're saying "persons"?

That was quick. Took me a couple of months to take care of our finances when my husband died!

It normally does in most cases! Sorry for your loss Stunned.

I just looked at Polks Hole Road on google and it's a little road that you cannot access thru google. Google apparently did not go down that little road to photograph.
What in the world made them look there? I probably missed reading that detail, so please forgive. Did someone tell LE to look there? Family connection? It's a little road surrounded by miles of farmland. How would anybody even know that little road existed? Has her killer worked on farms or whatever in that area? Family connection with the property? Talk about boondocks...

This article answers some of our questions

'Overwhelming support' seen after Nash County mom's death, sheriff says

"A Nash County murder investigation of a mom's death likely has only one culprit, according to the sheriff......

Investigators identified the missing woman's husband, Lynn Keel, as a person of interest on Tuesday. Deputies questioned him when the missing person investigation began March 9, and again on March 12 after the recovery of the body.

Stone said earlier that day that Keel was staying at his parents' home in Nashville. No one answered the door at the house either Wednesday or Thursday.

Two days worth of newspapers sat outside, and neighbors said they had not noticed anyone entering or leaving......

Diana and Lynn Keel met in Bogota, Colombia, about a year after his previous wife died at home.
They are still in search of witnesses who saw suspicious activity in the area of Polks Hole Road near Tarboro, where Keel's killer dumped her body. Investigators hope someone along NC 33 between Tarboro and Leggett or NC 97 between Leggett and Rocky Mount has surveillance video which might show vehicles on those roads from Friday.

They also want to know if anyone saw a dark blue Dodge Ram pickup truck in that area......"

DOT workers in the area discovered the body. Dont think LEO would send DOT to look for a body. Hope the Edgecombe County LEO preserved the scene and notified Nash LEO of body being found. Still say odd that no news media went to spot where body found. imo

Yeah, why would DOT be out there? But thankfully the guy was. Plus, one interview said her body was found about 30’ from the road in the woods. It’s amazing she was found.

I’m pretty surprised by the “other persons of interest” comment made by Sheriff Stone.

I hope some videos of drivers in the area are discovered.

Thanks much for the info, sloothseeker! :)
Can you imagine, going down that little road, setting up for whatever assignment they had out there in the boony-boonies (no disrespect meant, truly), and finding a decomposing dead body? SMH.
And yes, I can see how Mr. Keel was surprised to find out that her body was found.
Maybe that DOT assignment was one of those "meant to happen" kinds of occurrences.

“'He said that she leaves from time to time and will stay gone a couple of days,' Stone said."

B.S.

Soooo. Is he trying to sell the idea that she is in the habit of walking to wherever it is she goes to stay away for a couple of days? o_O I agree: BS! IMO MOO etc
