Police in Conover are asking for the public’s help locating a missing elderly man.

According to the N.C. Center for Missing Persons, a Silver Alert was issued for 73-year-old Douglas Wayne Hall. Hall was last seen wearing a brown and white flannel shirt, blue jeans, a blue and white sweatshirt and an orange hat with brown boots.

Investigators say that Hall suffers from dementia or some other cognitive issue. He was last seen in the area of Forest Street SW in Conover. Hall is described as a white male, approximately 6-foot-2, weighing 145 pounds with short graying brown hair with hazel eyes.

He may be driving a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria with NC license plate FBV-3461.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call Conover Police at 828-464-3112.

A Silver Alert that had been issued for 73-year-old Douglas Wayne Hall of S.W. Forest Street in Conover has been canceled. Mr. Hall was involved in a traffic accident yesterday in the Statesville area. Conover Police learned today that Mr. Hall is at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. At last report, he was listed in critical condition.
