Identified! NC - Flat Rock, WhtFem 17-20, UP97183, Found on private driveway, Multiple Tattoos & Piercings, Yellow metal unicorn pendant, Nov'22 - NamUs removed

I can't find any news sources regarding this case, maybe a Facebook post has been posted about the identification somewhere? We'll need to wait a while before we get any answers, if ever.
I can't speak for anyone else, but that doesn't bother me one bit. So long as she's not another Sherri Jarvis, another Dawn Olanick, waiting forty or more years to get her name back, I'm okay with never knowing. I know it would drive some people bonkers never to know, but I figure, hey, it's not about me. Now, if it was someone I, personally, was missing, it'd likely be very different. I know there are folks on here looking for lost loved ones, and I wish them all the luck in the world to find their answers. <3

Flat Rock is a residential area, a bedroom community for Asheville and Hendersonville. No real downtown. It's upscale and well-kept.

With her piercings and tattoos she has an Asheville-ish look; the town is full of young women of that mold. I imagine a fair number of them are, to varying degrees, transient, as it's easy to pick up jobs waitressing, bartending, and so on.
A few months ago, I looked up real estate prices around Ashville and was stunned about how high they were.

I am guessing that, like Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Ashville's scenery mixed with technology driven work from home abilities draw in a lot of out of area money, including second- or even third home owner types.

That aside, are affordable rental units hard to find in Ashville? If not, I wonder if there are campgrounds known for long term campers in the area. The campers then work in Ashville's service industry. If so, perhaps she is associated with such a camp site near Flat Rock?

Asheville is not only a tourist mecca, it's also one of the premier destinations for retirees in the U.S. There is a lot of money chasing available real estate there.

Edit: there are 15 or 16 colleges, universities, and tech schools in Asheville and its environs, so there are plenty of young people in the area anyway.

Still nothing in the news, as far as I can tell. This was moved to the "identified" section. Where's the source for identification?

Her Namus page has been taken down, implying identification.

There seems to be a deliberate news blackout on this event. When a girl is found dead on a residential driveway in a place where violent crime is rare (Flat Rock), that's big news. What gives? This is starting to smell like a coverup.

Edit: Could it be that LE are keeping this quiet until they can locate and notify the next-of-kin?

It may be an ongoing investigation and news coverage may alert the suspect (if there is one) to flee the area. They may also still be searching for relatives to physically claim her remains. Sometimes it's best to keep quiet until the investigation is over (such as in the case of Cairo Ammar Jordan).

Maybe it was a medical event or an overdose? Things like that probably wouldn't be news, at least not where I live. I'm glad she was identified in any case. Poor girl, may she rest in peace.

Could have been a hit and run or a car accident? I dunno ,we might not here anything if they do not have an investigation to conduct/

Title was changed to IDENTIFIED!
But I don't see the identification information?

Her namus was just removed, implying an identification took place. Her name hasn't been released, as her family may want it to remain private.

Another possibility—that her identity points toward a likely suspect, and LE doesn’t think that publicity will help at this point.

Maybe ,but if the local media doesnt report anything ,or file anything -there is no real reason to release a thing? I dunno . I am asking.
