I have tried to find something about her accident, but nothing comes up. The tone of the Facebook posts about it kind of allude to suicide attempt but I could be totally off.

This is an older fb account for HMW

Still catching up, so pardon the interruption… but I just looked at her old FB account and we have two friends in common. One of these mutual friends is a co-worker. I’ll have to ask him how he knows her on Monday. (Don’t worry—he is well aware of my sleuthing habits, so he won’t find my questioning strange or offensive.)

Looks like she was a junior in high school when the car accident occurred. It appears the accident was around Oct 13, 2015, according to the support page.

She posts about losing her brother 4 months ago on her 6/10/15 post here. Iirc from GAL petition, she was hit by a car in October of that same year. I scoured newspapers looking for a record of that accident, and I cannot find anything at all. I am now wondering about that accident and whether it may have been a suicide attempt on the heels of losing her brother. Moo.
I think that would’ve made her only 16 at the time :(

So she must have met this guy after the accident. I don’t get it. Why would she hook up with him? He’s disgusting.

Yes, she and her family have endured an awful lot. Aside from sightings from locals, it doesn’t seem that there is much we can do here, as we have dug up so much that led us nowhere, except feeling compassion for Heather and her family.

I’m sure by now LE have spoken with everyone close to Heather, including her husband. They found the car, but they didn’t disclose the driver’s name or its location, which makes me think it didn’t lead anywhere and they don’t want any more car tips. It’s a really frightening, frustrating, and tragic situation, imo. I’m holding out hope that she is safe with someone, somewhere, and that person will reach out to the family.

I found a post dated 10/16/2015 of an article from The Fayetteville Observer that was shared on the support page linked a few posts back. The link is no longer valid but the title of the article was “Four Killed, Three Survive Friday Crash on I-95”.

I checked into that article. It was an accident that happened while Heather was in the hospital and the survivors from that crash were taken to the same hospital. If you look at the comments on the support page under where the article was posted, you can see it was a different accident.

I read about that one, but it’s not Heather’s accident. I believe they did ultimately release the names. Her sister states that Heather was hit by a car. That suggests car vs. pedestrian to me.

Ohhh okay… thanks!

We are missing a lot of information here.

What time was she seen getting into the car on Jan 4? All I can find is that it was "nighttime."

By 7 p.m. it was 32 degrees, and the temperature continued to drop into the 20's.

No mention of a coat or footwear that I can find.

Did she get into the car willingly but leave in it unwillingly?

I'd like to know what she took with her. What is missing from her home? Where are her purse, wallet, keys, etc.?

It's been reported that the last text message that comes up on her phone is at 12:10 am. I'm assuming that's the morning of Jan 5? Was it an incoming or outgoing message?

And of course, whose car was it?!

Who’s the owner of this car?
Have they talked to them yet?
Where was the car found? What condition?

On Heather's newer FB page, there is an image of an old post of hers where she says that she, as a pedestrian, was hit by the car. You can see it in her Dec 24 post.

oh wow, someone mentioned court documents earlier - her sister filed a petition for guardianship last month, writing that “she will walk the streets in Fayetteville and jump in the car with any stranger”. This can be found here.

I hope this does not end up being horribly prescient. It’s looking like the possibilities are either random stranger or unhinged, violent husband. Either situation would be dire and I really really hope it’s neither

This must be one of the saddest stories I've read. From being a pretty and fully functional person before the accident to now...

Very worried about Heather. She looks familiar to me, I don’t think we ever crossed paths, but I lived fairly close to Fayetteville when she had her accident. I think there might have been posts about her accident on local social media. The lack of media attention to her missing is frustrating, but also rather typical for that part of NC. Law enforcement in Fayetteville is stretched very thin.
Same here, I feel like I’ve seen her face before. I’m in NC and have a good friend who grew up in Fayetteville. So it’s possible she shared posts if there were fundraisers or articles at the time of the accident.

In one of the facebook videos the husband is telling her "Everything you own is mine"

Is the husband out or in jail/prison. I think I know the answer to this already.
