I'm listening to some of the mom's testimony.

Unbelievable @ the level of co-dependency. There's denial and then there was what was going on in this family which is as deep as anything I've heard.

JW should have been shipped off to some institution or camp or something for the emotionally disturbed when he was about 13 or 14. His world should have been regimented and controlled so that he could not access any alcohol, drugs, or ummm...produce. Not that he would have been cured because I don't think he could be, but his rage maybe could have been channeled into hard physical labor and learning life skills. Having his mommy and daddy do all the things they did, taking care of his messes every time, only solidified his behavior.

His trajectory downward was somewhat predictable.

What I'm noticing as I am listening to his mom's testimony is resignation. She doesn't seem horrified at his actions in this rape and murder. It's all kind of matter of fact.

You're absolutely right, Maddie. I said earlier that it didn't seem to me that she was all that surprised that her son has arrived at this place in his downward spiral. It's almost like she was both a participant in and an observer of this tragic & horrible train wreck. Amazing.

If he is convicted of 1st Degree Murder, and since he has made no progress --unless he winds up on Death Row -- I see him as a permanent tenant in the disciplinary segregation unit in Central Prison. He's got some long odds looking at him for a long life, IMO. <shaking my head>

Do you know what's going on, Borndem? You'd laugh at me. I have the trial on two computers, one is on abc, the other on wral. I'm so afraid I might miss something! LOL Good morning and thanks.

I wonder if "Dan," his drinking buddy on the night in question, will be called to testify. Does anyone know how to find the witness list?

Yes, laces, you ARE a little nutty -- just because I'm doing the same thing means nothing at all...

The DT has given the jury a bunch of documents -- med records, school records, etc., etc., and the Court is having the jury look them over. So the jury is in & all is ready, and they're examining the exhibits, so there's no need for sound....

Just SOP so far, peeps.

Man, it doesn't seem to matter how *early* I drag myself out of bed, I'm still in a lull.

:-) Morning all.

Morning to you Glee and All,
I don't know about you guys, but we had horrific storms all night long. I slept from 4:30 til about 7:30 this morning. Even my dogs were restless....but I'm thinking that may have been from watching Jennifer Holiday sing on Idol last night. She contorted her face into a million shapes, which gave me the willies, and maybe my dogs too. We got marble sized hail around 8pm, thankfully, no damage.
OK, trial is starting. I'll hush up.

Laces -- Since you're such a trial nut, as am I, I will ask you this question....

Do you ever take notes during testimony? Like in a little notebook or something? Not that I do <choke>, or anything

We're back to witnesses --

I don't recall hearing any storms here over-night, but I had a second fan running in the bedroom. It makes kind of a white noise/background noise while I'm asleep. As for Holiday, I thought her eyes were going to pop right out of her head. :what: I was so excited P2 won!!

Not laces, but no, I don't take notes during the trial. I have a fairly good memory, and I hate writing. My fingers are getting old, I prefer typing. :rocker:

I wonder who these courtroom observers are??

Gee, sounds pretty much like what me and my friends do when we just 'hang out', 'kick back'. LOL, 'he drank a lot of it because he didn't want him drinking any more of it.' A few more ritalin to 'sober up'. I think the pros. will have a good time with this one.

I have come to the conclusion that the only way I will ever get my house completely cleaned up again is to snatch me a couple of ritalins. So strange how medicines work paradoxically at times.

At the beginning I didn't know who she was, until some Facebook friends clued me in. I thought it was some sort of joke or something. She really looked freaky IMO. Loved P2's emotional ending, leaving the stage to be with his family. He seems like such a nice boy.

Sounds like the behavior of a couple of loser high school kids. Living with mom, sharing a phone plan, drinking, snorting pills.........

Happily embracing my boring life!!

Harris Teeter has been getting some free publicity from these murder trials. (1st BC and now this one.)

OT: watched KT's plastic surgeon's testimony last night and was touched by the fact he spent all day with DH, even going to the police station with her. He sure called her at a pivotal moment!
