who said it was really bad? certainly not me.

it obviously wasnt considered a huge offense to officers as they chose to ignore it and continue on with their other business.

and thats why it wasnt the reason he was shot. if all he was doing was sitting there getting high he probably would have been left alone.

thats not to say that it isnt an offense that absolutely should be of concern to the police, is it your opinion that the police should just leave people alone if they are getting high in cars? not worried at all about them then driving while high?

Y'all stay trying to get people to explain their personal opinions so that can be attacked lol

It's possible. I'd think they'd have stated that, but maybe I'm wrong there. Wish they had made that clear from the jump if that were the case.

If that were the case it could have been handled differently, I think. Maybe they would have been more cautious from the get go.

I mean. Would they have just approached him like that? They should have had an official procedure to use if they knew.

From what I am seeing in the video he is almost clear of the back of the pick up the police were using for cover. If they would of retreated to the front of the truck he would of been in the clear to run with his loaded gun. This would of put the whole community in danger IMO.

Is it possible they were able to get information from the plate number when they called for back up? Serious question IDK.

:) I just asked the very same question Tilli! :D:

I bet they did before they moved in.

IMO

De-escalation. Lol.

I love how computer warriors have the gall to say what LE should have done, while sipping hot cocoa behind their computers/phones/Tablets, etc..

So easy to say what a person would/should do when the person wasn't there and NEVER will be in that situation. I'm sorry but that's just plain silly and disrespectful to those who put their literal lives on the line every day for the same animals that are constantly trying to kill them or are calling for their deaths.

Ridiculous.

Now that this case is finally done (most of us knew the truth from the onset), I'll move on to somewhere more productive.

:seeya:

Apparently some feel that LE officers have to unnecessarily put their lives and the public lives in danger because deescalation is the only option. Using lethal force to stop an armed felon from hurting or killing anyone is not the right thing to do. I disagree. Sometimes the bad guys leave the officers no choice but to use lethal force. JMO

practically every post on here is people stating their opinions based on the facts as they understand them.

we seem to get to a point every so often where people decide they dont want to try to explain anymore. thats fine, you dont have to.

The point is, marijuana is still illegal in NC. Maybe it's been decriminalized a bit, but still illegal nonetheless. So it the end it doesn't matter of it was "just some weed" or just some crystal meth, just some coke, just a few hundred tabs of Oxycontin...all illegal and all subject to varying degrees of criminal charges.

What next? It was just a 9mm? It only had a 10 round clip? He had the safety on?

You do gotta love the law says a person can stand there with a gun strapped to his leg but can't have any pot. It's hard not to laugh.

I'd rather we moved on from making it about my personal opinions on drug use because that's not the topic of conversation.

How close was all of this to a school? If close, what grades? tia

Undercover officers wouldn't want to blow their cover on just someone having MJ only.

That's a legitimate question IMO. We don't know where Scott was heading after he left his vehicle. We do know that the incident took place in an apartment complex that had innocent people nearby. I'm sure that factored in with why the police did what they did. JMO

What does that matter considering they weren't going to pursue him for it before seeing the gun? They'd have let him go about his merry way, so the MJ doesn't even have any real relevance, IMO.

True, I don't think they cared about the joint or blunt or whatever its called as long as that was all that was there. I've never smoked pot in my life.

But when combining it with a person being in possession of a firearm plus it being close to a school that would make them much more concerned.

Since they were undercover cops I think they called in his tag number to see if they could tell who they may be dealing with. They could have even sent them back his mugshot so they would know if he was the owner and the driver.

IMO

It's politically incorrect to be white and have an opinion, don't you know?

I would hope they DID call it in and DID know he was a felon. I'm just curious why they haven't said that by now, you know? It would have justified it from the start instead of all this chaos with people wondering why they approached him like they did. JMO

He wasn't even carrying legally...he was a felon, making it illegal for him to even own a gun, let alone conceal one on his ankle.

The sad thing is, had he just left the thing in the holster they probably wouldn't have even hassled him about the marijuana.

The absurdity of it all blows my mind, In other states MJ, a small amount is legal.

Guns are legal in NC. Especially open carry,

I am not for drugs. I am not for guns.

America seems to be. But if one is black, you can be dead or incarcerated for it, If you are rich like Rush Limbaugh, your lille drug problem can be forgiven. If you wave a huge weapon at LE and you are white, you may live through it,

Charlie Sheen is on TV with a young kid doing his crazy stuff, but that was OK.

Too weird for me

Oh please.

If that's true, I'm in trubz. I have lots of opinions.

It is, however, politically incorrect to be white and have a racist opinion. Seems tough.

As long as it takes to save a life. Were they not behind cover? They were, clearly by the video. BTDT next.

I don't think it's wise to go down the "making it personal" road.

So they should wait till he pulled the trigger and killed an officer before they stopped the threat? They can not possibly know if and when the guy would shoot. They should not have to wait it out and hope they do not get shot b/c of the people who sit in their home watching it after the fact think they can do better.

That's not at all what I said but ok.

Thanks and always great to 'see' you my friend.

I haven't read all the details released so forgive me for this questions.

Is that all they found in his vehicle? Just the one blunt? I thought they may have called in his tag number and knew beforehand he was an ex-felon.

And how many witnesses have come forward that confirm what PCKP has stated all along? Did they release any of the transcripts of the witness statements?

IMO

Scott was breaking the law by being a convicted felon with a gun strapped to his leg that he decided to pull out and also breaking the law by being in possession of pot. I don't find it funny at all.

Especially since this lawlessness caused him to be killed so that he wouldn't hurt anyone. JMO

It's politically incorrect (and stupid) to spout racist sentiments in public when you know your employer is going to see it. Dude is not very bright.
