WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A silver alert has been issued for a missing Winston-Salem woman.

Police are looking for 30-year-old Kristen McNeal, who is believed to have dementia or another cognitive impairment.

She was last Sunday afternoon on Winter Hue Street. Police say she left in a 1989 white Oldsmobile that has a black hood. The license plate number is DCN-1576.

Police say it's not known where McNeal was going when she left, but she may be in the Kernersville area.

McNeal is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She was wearing a white, long-sleeve shirt, black leggings and pink and black shoes.

Anyone who knows McNeal's whereabouts is asked to call Winston-Salem Police at 336-773-7700.

Officers say 30-year-old Kristen Leigh McNeal was last seen at her home in Winter Hue Street at 1 p.m. on Feb. 17.
“No one seems to know where she went,” said McNeal’s mother, Barbara Smith.
McNeal’s friends and family say she was struggling with addiction.

Releasing new photos of Kristen "Krissy" McNeal and her car, police said they are still attempting to locate the 30-year-old. The photos from police show her in the driver's seat of her 1989 Oldsmobile and show the "donut"-style spare tire and black bumper trim on the car's back left driver's side.

The photos were taken Feb. 15, two days before McNeal was last seen.


Her car is a black and white, four-door sedan with the entire front end, hood and fenders spray painted black.

Its N.C. license plate number is DCN-1576, police have said.

Missing Winston-Salem mother identified as victim in Forsyth County fatal crash

A missing Winston-Salem mother was found dead in her vehicle Monday after a crash, according to a news release from Winston-Salem police.

Troopers came to Watkins Ford Road at 3:19 p.m. Monday after someone called authorities to report a car in a stream.

The car was headed west on Watkins Ford Road and went off the road to the left, came back across the road, went off the road to the right, down an embankment and into a stream, according to troopers.
