Want to THANK all you that posted for today's AH testimony!! Half way thru, but have another question re bold below...

Arias was in a Fog; Amanda was in the Dark (fog). Geez~~
When are we going to get to the Hippocampus and Fight and Flight??? SMH

??? what does that mean? Been trying to figure it out but can't... :blushing:

  • #562
I thought I heard Gaskins say that, but I thought no way that could be the case!
Jury could actually be in deliberations by tomorrow???
If the stars aligned that is...

bbm
And if the sleet doesn't coat us in ice.... (wimps that we are, we can't cope with ice, and this area gets it when those west, or east, get snow)

Today is the first day I have been able to watch the trial and I was going to ask you all this morning if Shay has been there each day. I didn't see her today although she may have been. The camera doesn't swing too far in any direction. But it does seem that today of all days she would attend since her mom was going to testify. Did Shay testify for the State? Seems the defense could call her as a witness on AH's behalf in some manner.

NC, Sha now lives in New Mexico.
Have not seen her in court since the day she testified.
Not sure if you got to watch the stuff you missed yet, so linking some for you.

This is also very interesting, Lauras report to the courts about Grant, as read by her friend Heidi at the 1:24 mark (It is INSANE! Goes into how Aliens run the US government and he wants to have babies with women of 50 different races) -

Sha's testimony starts just before the 30 minute mark-

Amanda is trying to pull an Arias, claiming her head was so messed up she can not recall some things.
AKA the dreaded "fog". (She uses a different term though).

Exactly!!

They're going through a custody battle and she knows LA is coming but thinks it's fine to have a stinky bathroom?

I wish I had watched the GH case because this one has grabbed me in the last two days. Did AH testify against GH?

AH did not testify in GH's trial.
He was possibly going to testify in hers, but looks like that will not be happening.

I am still watching the 1st video & she is definitely playing the part of of her life, what she thinks will be her saving grace-the voice, the demeanor (playing to the judge & lawyers, "yes, sir")-it will be hard for the jury to reconcile that w/ a killer, & especially one who has played a more active role than she would lead you to believe. It's almost hard for me (& I'm cynical) to believe that she could be that stupid, & fall in w/ someone like Grant Hayes (& he's a whole other story- How did he get away w/ all his BS?) it's amazing what a little bit of acting ability can get you....I don't think she'll get away with it. But if I were a defendant, I would totally wear a pink jacket & play the performance of my life.

Sigh . . . I hope my above comment with links does not confuse any one. When I now click on the article link, the videos (Parts 1 thru 3 of Amanda Hayes' testimony are no longer there.)

I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused. :scared:

WRAL is updating the trial videos. I see that some of the trial videos are no longer posted in the above linked article.

Here is a direct Link to the Archived testimony from 2/11/14. I do not know if this is all of it. WRAL may still have more videos to post.

During closing arguments it will be made crystal clear to the jury all of the inconsistencies in Amanda Hayes' testimony, just in case the jury did happen to miss some of the finer points. I'm sure they'll point out all the places that she lied.

Yes, yes, Mad -- and the prosecutors have the last closing argument.

Amanda Hayes murder trial testimony (Day 11)

Feb. 11, 2014, testimony in the murder trial of Amanda Hayes, accused of killing Laura Ackerson on July 13, 2011.

I have been having issues with WRAL archives the last couple days.
When I scroll down they just move down the videos already listed, instead of loading more. I thought it was just me, but maybe they have bugs to fix?

I'm laughing at her testimony about Grant ("who's a little guy"), when they're headed back to NC, he's carrying the machete & his little knife, & wearing one of the kid's hats? & acting very paranoid- they really did deserve each other didn't they?

I wonder if this "little knife" she mentioned is the same one that turned up in the SUV just before trial began?

It'll be interesting to see-I'm a pocketknife aficionado (but I have no homicidal instincts). It is kind of astonishing that 2 people who obviously have little regard for human life should happen to become involved (a 'perfect storm' for murder)- I don't know what the statistics are, for people that walk among us, that are psychopaths or sociopaths, I guess we should be just be grateful that more of them do not connect w/ someone who falls into lockstep with them. I wonder if anyone close to either of them could have predicted what was to come?

How loud is the saw, borndem? If AH was in another room, could she hear the saw in the bathroom?

TIA!!

I asked the DH, and he said, of course, that it depends what is being cut. (And I sez to myself, Well, duh. <smh>) I gave him an example of a tree branch "about this big," and he said, "you mean an arm or a leg?" (un-duh, thinks I). So I said, "a femur." He mentioned that the skin/muscle, etc., would dampen it, but a person in the next room should most likely hear it.

They are not chain-saw loud of course, but if they're cutting through something hard, they do make a good bit of noise and one could prolly hear it. Especially if it's over and over and over again.

Another lie on the ever-lengthening lie-list for AH. :liar:

-------------------------------------

And glad you're in it with us, :drumroll: Niner :drumroll:-- Welcome!! :seeya:

Oh yeah, saw in the bathroom, cutting up a body- you'd have to be unconscious or seriously delusional to NOT hear it & not know what's going on.

OT////You all who are in the storm affected areas, please continue to check in as you can so I won't worry about you. I'll do the same. In the meantime I'll be praying that none of us lose our power as I can deal with most anything but that. However, I have learned hot to make a darn good pot of old timey percolator coffee on the grill due to so many hurricanes that knocked our power out for weeks at the time. But I don't want to have to do that in the snow and ice.

bbm

Yep, we'll keep in touch, NCEast, and I hope we won't be drinking what I call "Hurricane Coffee" tomorrow. Yeah, days & days of no power after Hurricane Fran and the Great Ice Storm a few years ago -- more Hurricane Coffee, we can indeed brew a pot in any kind of weather. All we need is a gas (or charcoal) grill or a wood stove, and we can darn sure boil some water & pour it over a filter thing plucked from our electric coffee maker.

Yeah, at least with hurricanes we have sunlight till 8:30pm or so and it's not cold. But ice really sux.

Be safe, check in with us, and let's hope our Becky knocks AH on her lying little a**. :jail:

First, I want to thank NCEast for the explanation of the saw noise!!

Thanks borndem!! :seeya: Glad to be here!

Is there court tomorrow - since you all are going to get snow and ice?? If not, at least I'll have time to view AH's testimony!! And did the PT finish with their cross today?

I'm just throwing this theory out there- would GH have committed this murder if he didn't believe that AH would participate & aid in the coverup? I think AH had a real hatred of Laura ( she was younger, attractive, already had 2 of Grant's kids, she was first), the idea that the 2 of them wanted to 'obliterate' her seems very plausible to me.

Hi, Nymeria!

I thought it was just me or my computer! When I click on the Archived videos Link, sometimes there are only a few A. Hayes trial videos there.

When I scroll down to the bottom of the page, there is no Page 2, 3, etc. like there has been.

Sometimes it works for me; sometimes not. :banghead:

Maybe WRAL will fix this problem soon!
