Do we have a list of SM links for the people arrested? I saw one and lost it.

Can any NC folks comment on how “diggable” the ground would have been in late November?
I am quite familiar with North Carolina, and the ground in late November would be very diggable, not even frozen yet.

Interested in learning if this family mingled with their neighbors.

Diana Cojocari, 35, and Christopher Palmiter, 60 -- very large age gap between mom and step-dad. Wonder where bio. dad is. Maybe he can shed some light on the family situation.

Possibly controlling abusive head of household? Wife and children submissive?
Different culture and traditions?

I was just about to mention the age gap myself. It’s certainly an interesting tidbit, and might give some insight in to the power dynamic at home.

Poor Madalina. I’m praying there’s a positive outcome, but I know that at this point it’s probably just wishful thinking :/

In my opinion, in that YouTube video of her mother Diana losing weight, she said something about wanting to remarry but “needed to lose weight”, looks like self-image issues maybe she was desperate for men and accepted an older abusive man in her life, prioritizing that over her child :( per the video I’m assuming bio dad could be from a different country Moldova maybe I’m assuming per the origin the YouTube video, because she was in the video with Madalina as a baby.JMO

Could she have been married off?

Arranged marriage isn’t that common in Moldova if that’s what you mean, but they do still have mail order brides from there.

FWIW, there's a now deleted old website for the stepdad called Christopher James Studios. I verified it by the contact phone number which matched Christopher Palmiter, age 60 from Cornelius NC.

There's nothing of value on the website. The associated FB pages are still up. He lived in Grand Ledge Michigan at one time.

A hasty search puts him in Michigan until about 2001 then North Carolina around 2002.

I really try not to judge people by how they look, but stepdad's Facebook profile photo at that first link gave me the chills.

His whole FB page gave me the chills !!!

So mom did a youtube video of her losing weight so she can remarry --low self esteem perhaps ??

Then comes along older man, step dad for her and her little one(s)

Yeah... how did that work out for her ??

How did that work out for poor young Madalina ?? ( I love her name, it's beautiful )

The stockings on the ends are different from the other three — maybe they’re for pets (I’ve seen people do this), or perhaps for his children from another relationship? I haven’t seen anything else to suggest that there were other children in the house, and I certainly hope there were no other children around or involved.

I didn’t see photos of Madalina on either of their Facebook pages. Diana’s was pretty private but you can still see her profile and cover photos, and this is the only one that seemed to even hint at her having a daughter, unless she just kept photos of her private.
I'm curious too about the stockings. We have stockings for my parents and my MIL so maybe something like that.

Where are the reporters here? I know it just broke but it's so weird I would think local reporters would be on this case.

The video of DC gives me “mail-order bride” vibes.

IMO they will claim she died of natural causes (covid, RSV, flu, etc.) and they were afraid of getting in trouble with the law (could she have been unimmunized/unvaccinated and still attended public school, I wonder?) and hastily disposed of her body. There is another miscreant couple currently in the news who are claiming the same—although, in their case, they were apprehended while traveling cross-country with their daughter’s dead body in their car.

Somebody else speculated that too, I sure hope there’s no more children in that situation. It’s hard to say too because for instance in my house we have stockings for extended family who come.
So do we -- 4 g'parents, 4 parents, 3 grands, 1 dog & 2 cats.

If I was the mother of a missing child you better believe I wouldn’t be silent on the issue, I’d be vocal as possible trying to get as much coverage as possible to find my child. I cannot relate to any of this as a mother myself. JMO
As a mother myself, I totally agree with you.
I would like to know if the mother may not have English as her first language and so is relying on her husband, the stepfather, to do the talking and reporting.
It would also explain a lack of information and also why she wasn't reported missing earlier.
Imagine the mother knew the details, as in what she was wearing, when she saw her last, etc., but the stepfather wasn't there? She may have had to wait for him to return from a trip or the like.
Or maybe she is a victim too and could not report it until she was either 'found' or had a translator?
When I first saw the description and translation of the weight loss video (I do not remember who posted the translation but thank you), it felt like a dating site profile video. So the mail-order bride situation came into my mind and has been mentioned previously upthread.

IMO. MOO.

Eta: expanding on ponderings. MOO.
Eta 2.0: more expansion and clarity.

NEW: Neighbors say the family kept to themselves in a friendly neighborhood, “Where Neighbors are Friends. A LinkedIn profile for Christopher Palmiter says he is a mechanical designer at Ingersoll Rand.
