I wrote copyrighted and what I meant was trademarked. In the professional graphic design community this comes up constantly. Literally, every day. Last I checked, US military logos are in fact trademark protected (as well as military phrases - over 500 different trademarks registered on phrases, logos and insignias) and users must have a legal license (not easy to get, either) or written permission (exceptionally rare) to use them. It's something I deal with all the time in my line of work and that's why it immediately stood out to me. I would be completely shocked to learn this man has all the legal paperwork in order to use any of these logos in a commercial venture.

The Romani are considered a diaspora. They are all over the world with 1M+ in the U.S., Turkey and Spain. Many in Russia and Eastern and Western Europe. They are called the Kale in Finland and Wales and other names in other places. The phrases gypsies has often been associated with them, which is the word you'll read in US history books about the Nazi Germans systematic slaughter of the Romani in Workd War II. The ones who were left in Europe were treated poorly.

But ... where are we getting that they are Romani?

I think it's just a misunderstanding of the differences between Roma/Romani and Romania/Romanian. I don't think we've seen anything to suggest that they're Romani, but Diana speaks Romanian so I think there's just confusion between the words.

Probably a long shot, but maybe the bio dad took her back to wherever he lives and they didn't report because mom is here illegally. I can see all kinds of problems with that theory, though. I need to think it through more. But it's my favorite theory because she's still alive.

If that were true, Madalina would no longer be missing and the parents would have been released, in my opinion.

Diana finds out that life with an older man isn’t what she had hoped it would be. Does she have other relatives here? Could she have sent her daughter away to have a more traditional life? For some gypsies, 10 or 11 is the age where girls leave school, to learn more traditional roles.

I don't believe Madalina or her mother are Roma/Romani. In fact, Madalina's mother is college educated and knows four languages per her LinkedIn. I'm not from Moldova, but my country also has a sizeable percentage of Romani people and while the girls would be taken out of school by 5th grade for many years, that's not possible anymore because it's mandatory all children under the age of 18 attend school, anyways, it doesn't sound like Madalina's mother grew up in that culture, she attended University in Moldova so there's really no reason to take Madalina out of school.

I haven’t seen this photo before. I wonder if the FBI has gotten into the phones? Unlike their prior “need help finding” Tweet with the last seen and reported dates, this one asks for information and only has the “reported” date. It’s a really sweet picture…almost seems like it was targeted at someone? MOO.

I'm from CA and I can't imaging a fire burning for days and no one reporting it. I know NC isn't dry like CA but as a neighbor I would have felt uneasy with a fire burning that long! All I can think of is something like a funeral pyre.

There's only pics of Madalina on it so I'm guessing that's the only child she has. I believe November 23rd She changed the pic to her daughter with a horse. On the 27th she posted pics of flowers her daughter and water pics. Ponds/ waterfalls. Last post is Dec. 6.

Would they ever put someone in jail under bond, if there is also an intent trying to keep her under surveillance or keep her safe?

so often when people are working these home-based selling companies... they just don't update or delete the info... so could be just way back around 2016.

Can LE arrest someone solely for the purpose of surveillance? Absolutely not. Any arrest requires probable cause.

Since I'm assuming Madalina lived solely with her mom and stepdad who have now been arrested .....
Was the last verified siting by school teachers/classmates ?

Obviously it's concerning if the mom and stepdad are the only ones to have seen Madalina on that day.
Did she have a phone and did she text/call/facetime anyone that day ?
