This totally bewilders me. If it is true and she spotted a young girl, seemingly alone asking for a ride, why on earth didn't she say "yes" and find out what was going on?JUL 10
CORNELIUS, N.C. — The Cornelius Police Department confirmed Monday that they are aware of a Facebook post noting a possible sighting of Madalina Cojocari, a missing 11-year-old girl from Cornelius, North Carolina, in northern California.
A user in the Find Madalina Cojocari Facebook group said she was driving to Susanville, California, on July 5 when she stopped at a Valero gas station in Weaverville. She spotted a young girl there who asked for a ride "up north." The poster said the girl looked a lot like Madalina.

Sounds to me like on some level she realized she had an "overactive imagination" and therefore limited posting about her remotely possible (but highly unlikely) sighting to the FB group. This totally bewilders me. In the screen shot of her post embedded in the article at your link, the woman does say she reported the sighting to the police. So, whoever that girl was, at least LE were notified. Finally the FB post is cited in msm. Keep in mind that Madalina only turned 12 in April. She was supposedly walking around a busy gas station, carrying a kitten and asking strangers for a ride and no one thought it was unusual?
Furthermore, the woman turned her down when asked for a ride because she was afraid. Yet it never occurred to her to call police.

Madalina Cojocari: Possible Sighting of Missing Girl in California
The Cornelius Police Department tells Inside Edition Digital that they are looking into the claims made by a woman on Facebook who posted after claiming she saw a girl who looked similar to Madalina.www.insideedition.com
Yeah I should have been clearer, what I meant is calling 911 while at the gas station. Or at least saying something to a clerk. The woman was so suspicious and concerned but didn’t even ask the girl if she needed help? The post has many red flags that suggest it’s a false sighting. In the screen shot of her post embedded in the article at your link, the woman does say she reported the sighting to the police. So, whoever that girl was, at least LE were notified.
Regardless, I don't believe it was Madalina.

This has a REALLY good timeline. I have always struggled with keeping up with this one. So there is a possible sighting of Madalina with the only US relative which would have been the distant Uncle on Dec 16. That was after Mom and CP were arrested. But if this is the case, Did Mom give her away to hide or was she sold?Surveillance photo of girl in NC mountains was 'physically consistent' with Madalina Cojocari, warrants show
During a recorded jail phone call, Diana Cojocari discussed a big bag of money and floated a theory Madalina was possibly given away for cash, court documents show.
