I think the reason it's so quiet is also because they are represented by legal aid, right? Normally when you are represented by legal counsel that you're paying for, they are always issuing statements and in front of the microphone every hearing.

I can't believe no one has bailed either of them out.

Whilst this is a possibility, it goes against the claim that DC asked a relative to smuggle herself and Madalina away. However I am sure both parents know more than they're letting on. IMO.

I’m not sold on the sighting. What are the odds of a member of a FB group called “Find Madalina Cojocari” accidentally stumbling on her? And Madalina asked her for a ride, implying she was hitchhiking around California. Um, no IMO.

And why go running to the group instead of simply notifying authorities? IMO this is a woman desperate for Madalina to be found who really thought she saw her or else she’s another FB attention seeker. We see people like that in practically every case. People with “inside” knowledge that never pans out. JMO

If I thought I'd stumbled upon a child I knew was missing in these circumstances, I'd get my phone out, start covertly videoing and talking to the child. I'd be phoning 911 straight away and letting them know there's a chance the missing child is here, right now, and that I have eyes on them. If she left before Police got there, I'd be watching exactly where she went/following her, and I'd have the video for them to verify if I lost her

I dunno, maybe I sound dramatic but if I genuinely thought the person was the missing child, I'd do something right then and there

Same. So that if we had to split, I could show LE what I saw and they could debunk or prove its truth. I mean I hope it is her. But I also can't why she would be asking for a ride up North in California. Does she have knowledge of California enough to know where she was going?

If a CHILD approached me at any place at all asking for a ride up north, south, east or west I would be dialing 911 and I certainly would not let them out of my sight until authorities arrived!

Absolutely ludicrous that she would even walk away and then post a tip on FB later.

Unless I've read it incorrectly it states that the person only posted the info on the FB page, and never even reported it to LE, but that they're "aware" of. If that's the case then, yes, I'd say it was someone looking for attention for sure.

I think this poor child has been deceased since last November, probably shortly after the school bus video.

I agree with you, I don't think Madalina is still living. And if she is still living I think she has been trafficked by her mother and is far away. I don't know which is a worst thought.

Police confirmed they are investigating a report of a possible sighting of missing Cornelius girl Madalina Cojocari outside of a California gas station.

The 12-year-old Madalina was last seen by the public getting off a school bus just before Thanksgiving. She wasn’t reported missing until weeks later.

Cornelius Police confirmed investigators are actively following up on the possible California sighting with the person who posted information to social media, as well as the local California authorities.

This is all 100% my own opinion.. I don't get the feeling that Madalina isn't still alive or in a dangerous situation simply because she's missing. Alot of cases involving children it's easy to notice inconsistencies with parents stories and attempts to lie or hide that they hurt or killed the child. But hear we have heard about trip to Michigan by step-dad, mothers road trip, as well as the burning of furniture in yard, and stories of drug trafficking and drug scent picked up by dogs in mothers car. Yet nothing about cadaver dogs alerting on anything in home, vehicle, or fire pit. Could the have been destroying drugs in fires? Clearly no human was burned or they'd have other charges besides failure to report child missing. All my opinion 100%..

As a mother of 3 daughters who have all been victims of domestic violence know that if you can get the chance to save your children's lives from domestic violence you take it and stay silent just as Madalina's mother is doing. For whatever reason she says step dad was putting family in danger and she was clearly desperate for an escape from that danger. Maybe the safest choice was to hide Madalina and take the jail time by staying quiet and she is also away from the danger she felt by husband while being in jail. Again all my own opinion. I don't believe DC will ever say where Madalina is because she's safe now. In a way they both are safer now than whatever they were/are hiding from.

If you go to Google Earth and type in Valero Gas Station on Main St. in Weaverville, CA ,looking directly across the street you will see A building with a sign out front that say's "California Highway Patrol" Department of Motor Vehicles. July 5th was when the CA women reported the sighting around 1:30/2:00pm, July the 5th fell on a Wednesday. I can almost bet there was someone in that building that could get in contact real fast with someone to handle this situation. I am sure anyone could have walked the young girl over there for safety and help, or even to send her over there on her own.

I would also say that if there were cameras anywhere around there, the police would be reviewing them to see if the story is real and get a picture of the girl.
