The only other mention is this, from December, 2019:
Mariah Woods homicide trial set for early 2021
Posted Dec 6, 2019 at 10:37 AM
Just over two years have passed since the disappearance and death of 3-year old Mariah Woods. The story is far from its conclusion.
Mariah was reported missing by her mother’s live-in boyfriend, Adolphus Earl Kimrey II, around 6:30 a.m. Nov. 27, 2017, The Daily News reported. On Dec. 2, 2017, her body was found in Shelter Creek, located in Pender County. Kimrey was later charged with first-degree murder.
A pre-trial motions hearing for Kimrey will take place in early 2020, according to District Attorney Ernie Lee. Kimrey’s trial is scheduled to take place in February 2021, Lee said.

Thanks a bunch @borndem - that's what I figured.... :(

I wonder what became of Mariah's brothers? I hope they are somewhere healthy and safe and that they have been provided lots of care and support in moving forward.

I often think of the boys and how they are coping, I did wonder if dad got them but I've seen nothing online.

Just checked -- No mention of Kimrey at all.
Who knows -- it could be due to Covid that scheduling has been postponed for however long.

Thanks, @nyvictoria! I only looked at the docket through the NC Courts System. You found another source, and now we know! We'll see if it stays as scheduled as the months go by.
So we wait...

You’re welcome! I don’t understand why it’s been so delayed but it is what it is.

I can not access this link - can someone give a 10% synopsis on this please? TIA! :)

I think it's the same article from January where it had photos of several people with brief write-ups under each photo. For Kimrey's it said:

Adolphus Earl Kimrey II, who is charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of 3-year-old Mariah Woods in 2017, is scheduled to begin his trial in early 2021, according to Lee. The district attorney previously announced he will be seeking the death penalty in this case.

Hey @borndem ! Hope all is well with you!

Just wondering if there might be a court date yet in the system? I have just February, 2021 for trial, but no date.
My notes said they were supposed to have a court date "early" 2020 - but now it's "late" 2020.... :)

TIA!

Just checked the Onslow County, NC, Court dockets -- No mention of Kimrey at all. Guessing all is set for the February trial -- but who knoze??

I just checked MSM, and nothing since this teeny-tiny January, 2020, article, with this little blurb. It is all I could find with any court dates mentioned.

Tāpēc mēs gaidām.

Thank you MsMarple & borndem!

I also have in my notes:
The defense is expected to file 30 motions....

I'm concerned about this case. If defense is planning on using the mother as the main witness then IMO it is a 'she said, he said' testimony. I don't know how LE can say who it was for certain who gave her a fatal overdose of chloroform. It's very evident that he disposed of her body since there is an eye witness who saw him load the van. Looks like he could point to the mother just as well as she could point to him. The boys were in the mobile home and hopefully they have been questioned by a qualified psychologist.
I personally think that both the mother and the boyfriend should have been charged. I don't see how one of them could have made and used chloroform without the other one knowing about it. JMO

I've thought all along that the mother knew what was going on in that home and she should have had charges against her. Honestly, it hurts my brain to understand how on Earth the mother just let things take this course leading to the death of Mariah. If she's a witness she saw what boyfriend was making, did she partake I wonder. She let this happened and mustn't have tried to stop it.

The boys had their own tales to tell if I remember rightly. Didn't one of them tell his father?

I don't like the delay, to my mind this case could have already been dealt with before Covid kicked in, long before, and Kimrey locked up on death row.

I just checked the Onslow County, NC, court docket for Kimrey, and there were no entries for him.

FB users, please note:
I simply googled "Earl Kimrey, Onslow County, NC" and saw a reference on FB -- of which I am not a member -- as shown below. I could not go any further, of course, so I have no idea if there were any more details.
Note the date. Maybe an FB user could find out more...
