Can a reg WS user give me a hand. Is there some setting I can use to stay signed-in the WS forum? Every time I switch over to do something else on my computer and then come back to WS I'm signed out automatically by the forum and have to sign-in again.

There should be a box below your sign in "Keep me signed in" just check that box.

This has nothing to do with this case but I had the most bizarre experience with LE yesterday. I found a cell phone on the parking lot of my office as I was leaving for lunch. When I returned I turned it in to the information desk thinking someone had dropped it and would be back looking for it. It wasn’t an hour later that 2 detectives showed up in my office. The first thing they said was that I wasn’t in trouble. Well, that never crossed my mind as I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong! They wanted me to show them exactly where I found the phone because it belonged to someone who has been missing for 3 days!!! I immediately said “Oh, I shouldn’t have touched it then. “. They were very nice, assured me I had done the right thing as some people might have just kept it. I pointed out the spot, they took pictures and asked me to write a report about exactly what happened and when. The part that has me really freaked out is how did they even know someone found the phone? It was dead as a door nail-I know because I tried to turn it on to see if I could figure out the owner. So, this just goes to show that LE has resources that we don’t know about and are always working even if it doesn’t look like they are. Sorry this is so long!

I don't believe anything the bio dad stated.

In addition, I can't believe this thread has gotten so out of control that Susan Smith is constantly mentioned.

As far as I know right now, Mariah and her mother are the main victims.

Welp, LE has spent a lot of time with Dad and he has been 100% cleared. They are not POI...however, mom and BF have not been cleared. I am not sure why Dad would not be believed. LE certainly do. Can you explain why you dont believe him?

(im a wee bit behind....if you already explained on this thread, you dont have to response, I will eventually see it ;) )

I'm a long-time WSer and it's happening to me on my new computer too. My home computer - this NEVER happens!

Is Alex one the sons that was living in the trailer ?

Alex Woods is the bio dad. Alex named the child who Earl (the boyfriend) allegedly hit with a belt, leaving bruises. I'll call the child "R". Alex says the beating is what prompted CPS to take the children from the mother temporarily last year.

This is from the Onslow County Sheriff's FB. Praying they find sweet little Mariah today.

We are overwhelmed by the public’s support to help us #FindMariah. Unfortunately, we have run out of room for any additional volunteers. We will need to cut off the arrival of any additional volunteers for today’s search. We understand you may be disappointed, but if people continue to show up, it would delay or interfere with the work we are trying to do.
We may plan additional volunteer searches in the coming days.
We appreciate your patience and prayers!

Listening to this interview. Bio dad (AW)says, no other clothing was missing (I had wondered if PJ's were removed and Maria was dressed so apparently not). Anna, a neighbor who helped watch Mariah saw someone go out the back door carrying something around 3am. Vehicle has been impounded. Mark Klaus advises AW to speak with authorities so he can know what is rumor and what is fact. AW alleges live in bf has drug and temper issues further stating CPS was involved and took children away (giving to AW) due to bf beating oldest son with a belt leaving marks and bruises. Both Mom and BF tried to cover it up by saying the boy fell from bunkbed. AW asked police if they have given Mom and BF polygraph tests and was told no.

Didn't they already release that they didn't go to Kentucky? It was a few days ago, but I remember reading that their plan was for Kentucky, but they ended up in Raleigh instead.

There are no details, however, on the Raleigh trip. Do they have relatives there? Did they just go there, spend a few days, and come back? Did they even GO?

I don't think there has been any official release of info about the trip. As for Raleigh, I think the bf's family might live there. Can't say more, but there is a photo.

Me too. I was a witness to abuse when I was young. I remember the sounds, and even today I imagine the fear of this child when he knew he was going to be punished. It's the sounds I'll never forget, because I was always in another room. I think I have a little PTSD because of it. It's strange, because I made it through my teen years and my twenties without thinking about it, but then the memories began to haunt me in my 30's. I am very sensitive to the sounds children make. Even if I hear a child squeal or cry out during physical play, it makes me uneasy.

There are certain sounds that make me uneasy too - instantly. I wasn't beaten as a child but had an alcoholic father that caused chaos in the house. Any noise that reminds me of that chaos really bothers me. My husband was hit by a belt as a boy. He is the stoic type that doesn't talk about it...but I see things that I think trigger painful memories for him and give him a tough time emotionally. Both of us are remembering things from our childhoods that have been almost forgotten in our 20-30s. I'd like to set the memories aside before I get much older! These are not the memories I want in my old age!

Back to little Mariah - my heart goes out to her brothers and I hope today is the day to find her. I hate her being out in the elements (assuming that is where she is).

Moving back on topic after this.... my sister and I talk about it sometimes. Not often. I hate talking about it. I'd love to forget it all, but I think those experiences make us deeper, richer, more humble and empathetic people.:blowkiss:

Have any of the locals seen hide nor hair of the bio mom and live-in BF since day one? Are they being reclusive? Are they helping with search? What are they doing? Would love to have some answers

There has been no sign of the mother or bf the past few days. It seems like the local population doesn't even know where they are. It was mentioned on HLN last night, and also from my observations combing social media and talking to some locals.

It's really a beautiful day here in SE NC this morning. Sending positive energy and prayers for Mariah, those that love her, and, all those out searching. The turnout at the volunteer search has been overwhelming.

The bio dad stated that the mom was dishonest with the social workers and that is where the covering up for the live in bf comes into play. It was stated that the son fell from a bunk bed but a belt was actually used that caused the bruises.
Certainly LE will speak with these two older boys and hopefully they will get some insight into living conditions. Certainly the area they are searching, which I think someone mentioned was approximately 3 miles from the home, is rather far for this child to have wandered off to. Just how limited was her ability to walk and, has it still not been confirmed whether Mariah's braces were missing or not? What about this so called sighting of her with a woman in Walmart?
