I'm more interested in the why and how of crime cases - the personalities and details. I learn something new on every single case I follow and I am almost always touched by the compassion I witness on WS....even from people whose opinions I don't always agree with.

I have to agree with you on numerous points. I also rarely follow cases through to the end, I too like the puzzle of the cases etc.

And I also like to hear other peoples opinions (without them I wouldn't have learnt half of what I have here) but I find the fact that Mariah's abuser and killer should given dignity just a disrespect to Mariah and her brothers.

And she could use the fact she stayed behind as an alibi. 'no...I couldn't be involved at all. I was at home with my boys being a stay at home mom'.

Did he have respect for Mariah? No he did not. He forced a child to give him pleasure. Did he have respect for the other 2 minors? No he did not. Why should EK be treated with respect from his fellow inmates. He will get the due process that is entitled to any criminal in a court but after that he is fair game.

Agreed 100%! I firmly believe you get back what you put out there and he's put some pretty bad juju out there. I have zero compassion for him.

I am the same in that I don't tend to follow the case to trial, etc. My reason is that as time goes by (and I'm an old timer), it seems the crimes are getting worse and worse (in the US and all over the world), but the punishment for these horrific crimes is less and less (and especially in other countries, MOO). JMO. It's disheartening to watch one lawyer's intellect over another's or how much money the perpetrator has be the determining factor in guilt or innocence. Of course, I still do hear the "declared innocent" results blasted all over the airwaves (Casey Anthony, OJ Simpson, Bella Bond, just examples). So, I stay away from trials. I have high blood pressure problems :tantrum:

I am not sure LE will be able to prove who actually killed Mariah. I can see finger-pointing ahead but wondering how LE will know for sure. Hoping both adults are charged equally.

Also there was a show on ID channel last night (Village of the Damned series, I think) where a 3-yr old girl was reported missing by her mother (back in the 80's I think.) Eventually it came out that Mom was to blame when she was seen mailing a package to police of one of the child glove's as "proof of abduction". She was allowed to attend the funeral in handcuffs. She had claimed the child suffocated by accident and so she buried her in the woods. I think she served about 15 years.

The boys may have some insight into who is responsible. This is another reason they probably should not be with the grandmother right now. I would imagine she hopes her daughter will not be found responsible.

I wish there were a way to have a "sub-post" or whatever, like FB where you can discuss something and it's kept directly under that specific comment. I agree we shouldn't get too deep into treatment discussions, but, I think it would be beneficial to some degree. I think we can learn lots from such discussions.

Good point. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I understand your reply to mean that it is still possible MW was found only in underwear since underwear is technically considered clothing. So my thought to follow are based on that assumption. I think if one is to analyze the choice of language, one would choose to say "only in underwear" as opposed to "clothed" if she were really that bare, you know. What I mean is to say I personally would find it odd to say "clothed" if she were only in underwear. As such, I guess I'd tend to agree with the person you replied to (forgot their handle) that she had more on than underwear. Still you make a very interesting point for consideration. lol could we possibly break down down that tidbit of communication any more? Hahah guess we "sleuth-ers" are a bit OCD when it comes to analysis. Kinda part of the job tho. [emoji6]

I&#8217;m quite surprised that no one has yet been charged with Mariah&#8217;s homicide. I thought the autopsy would immediately result in charges. But the fact that they continue to test evidence from the autopsy, scene, etc., tells me that it isn&#8217;t obvious what happened, or who did what.

That said, I&#8217;m really glad LE is being so thorough and tight lipped. As much as I&#8217;d like to hear the 911 call and know what they've determined so far, I really want their case, whatever it turns out to be, to be airtight and spot on.

Yet again, I&#8217;m really surprised that neither EK nor KW have been charged related to the actual death. I thought that would have happened by Monday.

Until we know more details it's hard to know if conjecture is relevant regarding Mariah's body being found 'clothed' and exactly what that means.

But, I am thinking that if EK/KW's story to the police and media was that the last time Mariah was seen she was in her underwear, and then the body is found in more clothing that EK/KW might be hoping that this would support that Mariah was in fact abducted and the abductor put the clothes on?

It also would make a difference, as has been said in an earlier post, whether KW wanted to dress her daughter for 'burial' and never thought the body would be found so she only told the story of the sighting by EK in the underwear? If, and it's a big IF, she clothed the body for this reason, she might have chosen to put on a pretty dress and not another pair of pyjamas...and she might have feared that it would stand out too much if she said that Mariah was in her Sunday best princess dress in bed for sleeping, and so she might have kept to what Mariah was wearing *before* any harm befell her and not said anything about redressing the body.

When we were discussing the statement analysis it was very noticeable that KW left out a lot between the last time Mariah was seen in the home and the time when LE was called to report Mariah missing. It now appears that one thing she left out was that EK went to 'dump' the body (I wish that term had never been invented but it is the technical term for this), it's not beyond reason that she might also have left out that she redressed the body.

Well, we're looking at a technical statement from LE, who is not fond of giving out too many details just yet. So it's difficult to compare what they say with how we might say the same thing.

Nope. False. There is no case worker when the CPS case closes. He was fighting in family court when she stopped letting him see the kids. There was no case worker.

Second, it's a dream world in which the DA gives a damn about a custody case and would ever talk to one of the countless thousands embroiled in never ending custody battles.

I'm shocked anyone thinks we can just walk in and get an audience with the DA to discuss our personal, civil court issues.

That's just not how any of this works.

I tend to agree that it is not, as I said, I couldn't really tell, but I do have to disagree on where they'd chop out lines. Folks will do lines off of the floor, the back of their hands, the top of the toilet tank, and yes, the edge of a table , after they've become higher than a Georgia Pine. Once they become ripped, they become a little careless. Hence folks trying to snort substances out of carpeting with a dollar bill... I've seen some strange things in my life.

I agree with you on all other points (talking to Mariah, the DA).
