Verrrrry interesting little thing having to do with TS's incarceration after his arrest for the murder of Melissa...
When I looked at his record with the NC Dept. of Public Safety, I looked down through his offenses (since in court I learned that he was on probation when his father kicked him out of the house) to see what the offense was. Then I saw the dates of his incarceration with the NC-DPS. Usually, arrestees of Wake County are housed in the Wake County Jail, but not TS -- On May 22, 2013, he was incarcerated in the NC Prison system for "Post Release Sentence." He was released from there on 12/16/13.
Then, when I look at the current jail population in the Wake Co. Jail, I see where his entry date there was 12/16/13.
Think about it -- it may take a minute or so...
Here is what got my attention -- I just copied the part that stymied me -- the link for his record with the NC-DPS is below it.
see: Sentence BA-002 on his record.
----------------------------------------- Partial Record ----------------------------------------------------------
Conviction Date:05/22/2013..............................................
Sentence Begin Date:05/22/2013
.........................................................................................
Actual Release Date:12/16/2013

Hmmmmmm. I guess NC-DPS wanted him to serve his time for a previous crime before he was retried for something else. Indeed.

To access the Wake Co. Jail Inmate list:
http://p2c.wakeso.net/jailinmates.aspx
When you get there, simply put "Smith" in the FILTER INMATE area, and select ALL (since we are dealing with a Smith). Notice his "Arrest Date."
Interesting, IMO.
