2 Counts NG on Larceny

Guilty Of Murder in the 2nd Degree.

  • #325
Guilty 2nd degree murder, not guilty of larceny counts. I was thinking this would happen. The larceny was a bit iffy in my mind and along with it, first degree murder. I'm pleased it wasn't manslaughter.

She was so happy at the NG and then the ball dropped and tears rolled down her face as they said GUILTY of Murder in the 2nd Degree. Def Immediately Cuffed.

  • #327
They sure cuffed her quickly! I have never seen that before.

  • #328
Sentencing in 5 minutes. Boy! That's quick!

ETA: It was warmish, so I went out to dig up 2 beds of canna bulbs. Just walked in in time for the verdict!

  • #329
I don't feel badly for her because she could have retreated at any time.
She didn't need to stab him; and I do believe this jury got it right. I don't think that night
there was PreMeditation for first degree and the jury couldn't find it either. 2nd degree, I would have plead to heat of passion no contest. CM is stoopid. No offense.....she rolled the die and she LOST!

Glad you guys made it! It was so quick; I was posting links and verdict as quickly as I could; sentencing in 10 minutes.

  • #331
I'm happy with the verdict. I hope the family of Reginald can live with it.

  • #332
How old are her kids and who are they with? TIA!

  • #333
Wow right to sentencing?

  • #334
170-216 months, roughly 12-14 years

  • #335
Shoot, missed the verdict but saw the sentencing, I'm not displeased, murder 1 shouldn't have been charged I don't think, not even sure of the larceny but there was no doubt about what she did do to him.

  • #336
I think the judge said sentence to be between 171 and some other crazy number of months. What's that? 14.25 years?

  • #337
170-216 months. Judge said it was mid-range sentence. Not the most, not the least.

  • #338
Looks like 12 - 14 years, at first I thought he said 70 months.

  • #339
Right to it and it was between min and max but I didnt' catch the amt of Months.
It was like min to max of 220 months or something like that....which threw me as I usually hear yrs vs mos...in the sentence.
NC gets it done again. WTG Ms Franks; you did an excellent job! WTG WAT for the live coverage and WTG WRAL once again, they really bring us some of the most interesting trials to date. Esp now that we have NO CTV or IS at ALL. Kaput!
