Carey Lockhart-Davis has spoken with the media and stated that she did not feel comfortable with Shaniya moving in with her mother. Bradley Lockhart said that Carey had not shared those concerns with him.

Wait, I thought Carey was only dropping her off for two days...thus implying that although BL had arranged for AD to keep Shaniya for a while, Carey didn't know this when she dropped her off.

I am really confused about all this and this seems like an important distinction to me. Anyone? Help?

Does anyone know the distance between the Sleepy Hollow moblie home park and the elementary school that Shaniya was attending? Would that be the school she would be zoned for if she was living with AD?

Something about the phone calls is bothering me, too. Do we know whether or not there was a working home phone in the trailer? The operator's confusion over AD's address during the 911 call makes me wonder if AD placed that call from a cell phone - wouldn't the address pop up on the operator's computer screen if it was placed from a home phone? I wonder whose phone she was using, and how difficult it might have been for BL to stay in touch with Shaniya if reaching her by phone was possibly unreliable. BL says he told Shaniya to call him every evening, but if he sent her over with a cell phone (assuming an unreliable or nonexistant home phone), a 5yo would still likely be dependant on an adult to keep in charged.

Hmmmm, when Aunt Carey and AD allegedly argued over Shaniya, did that conversation take place over the phone or in person?

If the father actually raised Shaniya for most of her life and if as he said in the one article that the mother didn't really have anything to do with Shaniya I think he would have had a real good chance to get perm custody of her. He did a good job taking care of Shaniya and she was clean and dressed nicely and had lots of love in her life. Compare that to what the mother could have offered her. The mother and father's lives would have been turned inside out before a decision would have been made. But I believe he would have won custody with no problem at all. A DNA test would have had to be done too I would imagine.
I agree that BL and Aunt Carey taking good care of Shaniya. She had a good home, was well dressed and very loved by them. I heard him ask why had DSS not contacted him regarding their investigations of AD, and regarding Shaniya not being in school. It has been my understanding that DSS will not discuss their child investigations except with a parent who has "legal" guardianship (i.e. court order, etc.) or the child's other "legal" guardian. Since Shaniya had never been enrolled in school with AD, DSS may not have known about this until after her murder. I don't know, I'm just wondering out loud.

While his true relationship with AD is still unclear, I've been thinking that what he could have done, and should have done in hindsight is now in the past. I'm sure he wishes that he could go back and change everything. I feel compassion that he lost his child and I feel so sorry for Aunt Carey as she appears to really be having a difficult time through all of this. It's a tragedy... and the murderers (AD and MAM) should be brought to justice. What I'm waiting to see is AD have murder charges brought down on her. When is that going to happen?

Nothing new really. 20 man task force. LE doesn't know why she was taken out of school...seems to me someone isn't talking.
Maybe it's someone that recently got an attorney. Just throwing that out there.

I just read about a case in Kansas City in August this year, that is similar. Mom prostituded 5 year old daughter to 50 year old neighbor. In return he gave her $5-$6 every time she would supply her daughter to him. Mom would buy cigs and whiskey with the money. Mom would actually be in the room while pedo was in the room. What a disgusting peice of trash they both are.

They both got life sentences.

A week after discovering the body of 5-year-old Shaniya Davis, police say they are still following multiple leads in the case.

Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Bergamine said Tuesday that tips continue to come in anonymously to the task force assigned to the case.

"There are a plethora of leads that we're following up on," Bergamine said.

About 20 people are assigned to the task force, Bergamine said. They are working hand and glove with the District Attorney's Office.

When asked if there were any new suspects in the case, Bergamine said several teams continue to work leads every day, and the case is ongoing.

Bergamine said he wanted the task force to leave no stone unturned.

"It's very important as we prepare the case for the District Attorney's Office that we cover everything that's possible," he said.

If the father was planning on Shaniya coming back home and this was just considered a visit...why did he withdraw Shaniya from her school when it was only Oct and school had just started?

BBM

We do not know who withdrew Shaniya from school.

 Songline...you are certainly assertive.

Not to discount your interviews, (as I would've looooved to have been there)...and it actually sounds like something I might do.

Did you happen to ask each individual what they defined as a one night stand?

I only ask because my occupation involves conducting investigations, frequently, and I often find that people tend to have different perceptions, of things that appear to have little / no ambiguity. I often find the greatest perception differences among different individuals in different geographical locations, as well as differing age groups / genres, and gender.
:) I used to do motivational seminars so Sometimes I am very good with people.... LOL

Good point I did not ask them How they define it, but I spoke about it again on another post...
An acquaintance with whom you fall into bed would not be a one night stand, it would be something that you chose not to repeat.
One night er is just that one night.
But your point is well taken. :)

I realize this is from a few pages back, but I am just catching up.

This pretty much sums it up, huh?

I actually think death is too small a penalty for AD. She should have to live with this for the rest of her life.

But MAM? That monster (with a previous record of violence) should never see the light of day again. It would almost be safer for the rest of us if he was put to death rather that qualifying for parole some day.

You edited/snipped my post. I thought AD would be eligible for the DP. Impatientredhead posted about a Supreme Court ruling regarding this matter. According to this, AD can notbe given the DP for her involvement.....

The defendant in such cases was typically found guilty of "felony murder"or under the "law of parties," and in some states can receive the death penalty, despite not having killed or directed the killing of the victim. The US Supreme Court has restricted the use of the death penalty in such cases.

[respectfully snipped for space]

one-night stand can refer to a hook-up with a random stranger

but

one-night stand can also mean a hook-up between long-time friends or acquaintances
we don't really know the context in which it relates to BL & AD's relationship yet

perhaps they knew each other for a time and then had a one-night stand
or perhaps they had friends in common ...

there's so many possibilities which would lead to word getting back to him that she was pregnant after they 'hooked-up'

yes, your scenario (sure thing/by app't) is also a possibility so I'm not necessarily disagreeing, just throwing other options out for consideration ...

something that just happens once with an acquaintance/friend is not a one night stand NOP..
When someone wants to tell you it was only a one night stand like BL has said. He is embraced about her, (maybe she is a real low life) and he wants to make it sound like IT WAS NO FRIENDSHIP it was only a one night er. Other wise he would not be saying it that way.

One would NOT humiliate a friend and call them a one night stand. NOP....

No offense, but how do we know what BL meant? He could have meant it in the way that I consider a one night stand (person known or unknown, with whom there is a one time sexual experience, not as part of a relationship) or he could mean the old school definition (meet them, sleep with them, and do your damndest to get dressed and out of there before they can memorize your face) or in the ghetto definition (as an insult).
It's awfully presumptuous for any of us to assume that we know his personal definition for this phrase.
MOO.

Another scenario - they had mutual acquitances.

Seems to me the clan AD hung with were all street people.
what was BL doing with them? :waitasec:
that is what I want to know...and why would his son "college boy" say something about forgiving felons?
or giving them a second chance????:waitasec:
There is something Not right over there....

I don't think so...I will go back to what I have said before and I am willing to go interview more men....:)
I do not think that someone would insult a friend/acquaintance with whom the haphazardly ended up in bed by calling them a one night stand.....
They can still call them an acquaintance without an insult added to it.

Wouldn't papers need to be signed to withdraw or move school records???
When we moved (many moons ago)
I had to fill out papers and have records forwarded to another school.........in the good old days! The papers went by snail mail from 1 school to another!

Here's my two cents - someone in his 60's who had one night stands "back in the day" is a little different than some of the more modern "hooking up" stories.

Now email and cell phones leave a trail. And just because someone has a one night or two night fling or whatever - doesn't mean they are hooking or doing it consistently -

This group is so intertwined, that as long as she knew his name, she'd be able to find him.

Also about him being on the birth certificate. I'm in California, but there was DNA testing done when I applied for child support services, after our "informal agreement" fell apart. I had to get the judge to officially order the birth certificate be amended to add the father to it. It may not have occurred to AD to do so, or what the benefit may be.

That is why I used different age groups the 42 year old would have been closer to BL's age....

IMHO AD was no one night stand - NOW WAY NO HOW.
He is not telling the truth at all about that.
Yap he is intertwined in a bad crowd.
I think hes new GF should run while she still can. MOO

This kind of stuff shocks me...:other_beatingA_Dead:
shocked2::shocked2::shocked2:
Why are we spending tax dollars on these animals????
I think we need that money for more LE so other children can be safe. :furious:

My opinion: Brad made that comment to DISTANCE himself from AD.

The ENTIRE world was looking at the woman accused and charged and arrested for selling their precious daughter into prostitution.

BRAD------> Excused his involvement with someone capable of such a horrific crime by claimimg *just a one night stand.*

If it is not true, I expect her family to eventually come out with something in regards to that statement.

My fiancee is 42. He shares your definition. Putting the exact words to it that he gave me would get me banned, but I can say that he agrees.
He's quite honest with me.
